I invent bizarre combinations and my only request is that they at least take one bite (and I check). Sometimes my “inventions” are great hits (sweet potato, hummus, and avocado on wheat) and sometimes not so much (gherkins, sliced boiled egg, and Tofutti on chapati). I like to show them that food can be fun and they are always curious to see what mum has come up with this time !

But he doesn’t eat the veggies- they must be cursed!
So I’m just a little bit sneaky I’ll admit to you,
I often wrap up a mini quiche or sushi it’s true!
With lots of ‘hidden’ veggies its the perfect snack,
And none of it in his lunchbox comes back.
If I put a few black and green olives in,
The most Brownie points I do win!

One winner in our house is my home made muesli bars with oats, banana, a little bit of honey, pepitas and cranberrys baked in the oven. Goes down a treat.

carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumber sticks!
Also I put in a dairy snack each day,
providing calcium and energy,
eaten quickly before he runs off to play!
