Casa de mi Padre ~ DVD Review & Giveaway

03/05/2013 By All Mum Said 18 Comments

I’m a huge movie buff! Actually everyone who knows me or any of my family knows we are all film crazy. I love most genres but I’m a sucker for rom-coms and straight up comedy and when it comes to comedies anything with Will Ferrell is a winner for me.

I think he is absolutely hilarious so when I was asked to review his new film Casa de mi Padre (House Of My Father) I jumped at the chance. Oh did I mention I have 5x to giveaway as well?

Besides the fact this movie is in Spanish with English subtitles, the over the top comic value is not lost. There are so many parts in this movie that I thought what on Earth is he doing? And other parts that cracked me up. It is definitely not the best movie he has been involved with but it provides some good old comic value that you come to expect from Will. In this film Will plays the part of Armando; a simple Mexican boy who works on his fathers’ ranch and is very family proud; his brother (Raul) lands them in trouble with Mexico’s most feared drug lord. Armando and Rauls’ fiancé share several moments of uncomfortable and awkward sexual tensions.

To win yourself a copy of Casa de mi Padre leave me a comment telling me what your favourite Will Ferrell movie is and why.

I will select the 5x winners based on the originality of their answers. Giveaway closes 9/5/2013 midnight!

I love him in “Elf”, I love Will Ferrel movies, I love Christmas movies, so it was a done deal that I would love this movie! I also saw him on an episode of Bear Grylls, it was really cool to see him being his normal self and being in awe of Bear, so funny…

I love Elf, because it combines a few of my favourite things – the ability to watch it as a family and Christmas!

He was brilliant as usual in Land of the Lost and really played his part well both with his dialogue and brilliant “faces”

For me, it has to be Blades Of Glory. Seeing him in that orange one-piece with his long hair flowing as he skates is such a funny sight, it has me in stitches every single time! He is such a brilliant actor.

He is so good in so many movies – The Elf is brilliant but the all time favorite would have to be “Step Brothers” – he is so good at making ones day brighter :)
