Chai Yourself a Latte + Giveaway

05/07/2013 By All Mum Said 54 Comments

Believe it or not I have only just been introduced to the world of Chai Lattes! Yes I know I am behind the times. To be honest I actually thought it was a coffee – the latte bit threw me off the actual scent that it is tea. Who would have thought? I was recently sent some courtesy of Bondi Chai to try and after getting over the initial shock of it being tea I quite enjoyed mixing it up from the coffee I usually drink. Bondi Chai is available in 2 flavours: Club Cinnamon and Vanilla Honey – they are both quite pleasant and relaxing to drink. The Vanilla Honey is my preferred of the two; I don’t usually like honey but none of the flavours really overpower so it made for a smooth and soft flavour.

If you are thinking that being a creamy ‘latte’ style drink it must be unhealthy well you will be pleasantly surprised with Bondi Chai. It is low in caffeine, 98% fat free, has no trans-fatty acids and is gluten free! I also love how versatile this product is; it’s not only a great hot drink but it also makes for a delicious base in smoothies and frappes. Bondi Chai is available in a boxes of 8 sachet sticks from your local Woolworths – RRP$6.99. For more information visit the Bondi Chai website.

If you would like to try before you buy enter my giveaway below for the chance to win a box of each flavour.

If I have REAL coffee I love to have whipped cream on the top. Instant coffee I love a generous teaspoon of condensed milk. In the quietness of my lounge room while the little one is napping.

A great cuppa is shared with the special person in your life, holding hands, licking froth off lips, perhaps even each others whilst poring over the paper together, then perhaps back to bed for more cuddles after the wonderful caffeine hit :)

I love my coffee! Its wonderful being able to whip out my pod machine and make a beautiful coffee in a flash. My 2yr old and I will often have ‘cinos’ together (hers is obviously just milk froth lol).

A tasty coffee? Milk before water – I’m not sure if its psychological or fact but burnt tasting coffee leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

A great cup of tea is one that relaxes you after a long day. picks you up when you are sad, comforts you.
Something so simple can make you feel warm when its cold and something that you share with friends and family every day, it can be apart of your fondest memories.

The perfect cuppa is at 4am, arsenic hour on a nursing night shift. Most of my work is done and I sit down with my paper work, my Maxwell &Williams china mug and sip on the only thing that is going to get me through til sunrise. What goes in the cup? From 9pm to 3 am nasty hospital sachet instant… after 3am is a warm spiced chai to avoid wide awake caffeine highs when I can finally lay my head down.

A great cup of chai is being able to take that first sip and have a smooth foamy texture pour into your mouth, it has to be 40o Celsius for me, and I must be able to take of the lid And lick the extra foam! A good chai is being poured properly and putting love into it!

My mid morning cup of tea .My husband and I sit on the back patio, our dog waiting just in case we drop a biscuit crumb. It is a pleasant and enjoyable part of our day.
PS Last week I had a cup of Bondi Chai at a local coffee shop. I do not know which flavour it was, but it certainly was good.

Inhaling roasted malt, caramel, burnt sugar, vanilla, cocoa and sometime confectionery aromas as your coffee brews and then splintering with delight with each sip. This kind of ritual is best done with either toasty slippers on your feet or lazy jazz swirling through the air.

A great cuppa is one that is finished while still warm, unfortunately, with 4 very active boys, that doesnt happen very often, actually, I cant remember the last time it did happen. The sight of me standing in the kitchen pouring myself a cuppa is the cue for them to start thinking up reasons on why they will need my help, and they wait until I sit down on the lounge, cuppa in hand, to begin their requests. Its the exact same thing that happens when I go into the bathroom for a shower or to use the toilet, and the same thing happens when I pick up the phone. I’m really not sure why all their problems and requests have to be solved right that minute, but apparently they do.
