Guess the Price to Win a Canon Tough Camera

27/12/2014 By All Mum Said 143 Comments

Christmas is a time of giving and while it is the thought that counts, sometimes the gift being received is not of use to the recipient. There are many reasons for gifts being unwanted and they aren’t always because the receiver is ungrateful and more because the present is something they would never use, 20% of the time it’s something they already have or it could even be as simple as it is the wrong size. While gift-givers don’t intentionally give unwanted presents, there are a few contributing factors that cause these gifts to not be well-suited. 50% of these are a result of not knowing them well enough to make an informed purchase, it could be due to a limited budget or possibly even because they have a difference in taste to the gift receiver.

Whatever the reason is; not everyone will always be satisfied with their gifts. This is where selling platforms like Gumtree are fantastic. It allows people to sell their unwanted gifts/items and use the money to purchase something they love. It’s a win-win for both the buyer and seller.

Every year in the month following Christmas there is a large amount of undesired presents being sold. Gumtree are running an unwanted gifts campaign this year where every Gumtree user who wants to sell their unwanted gifts and tag their ads with #UnwantedGifts will go into the draw to win an iPad.

Prize Includes: Canon Tough D30 Powershot camera. RRP $344.98.

All you need to do to win yourself one of these incredible canon cameras is click over to my Gumtree ad and then come back and leave me a comment telling me what you think I would be willing to sell the Canon D30 Powershot Camera for.

1. Competition commences 27th December 2014 to 9th January 2015.
2. Only one (1x) entry permitted per person.
3. Receive one (1x) additional entry/guess if you list an ad tagging #UnwantedGifts on Gumtree – you must leave your URL in the comments so it can be confirmed.
Full t&c can be found here.

Disclosure: I received 2x Canon D30 Powershot Cameras by Gumtree, one to keep and one to giveaway.

Well…..if it were me……Since Harvey Norman has it on sale this week for $328, but I’d want to move it quick so I can use the cash myself to get something awesome in the sale, I’d list it for $300 but take offers as low as $280, hoping for some middle ground at $290. That price should entice the people wanting a new camera, and should be just enough of a saving to pull them away from a mainstream store without completely devaluing the gift!

Harvey Norman have this model on sale for $278 so I’m going to say $100 less than that which is $178.

It’s a great comp! – As for a win win for buyer and seller I would guess $190 – and well worth it for a brand new Canon D30 – selling new at ‘second hand’ price. Everyone wins

No less than $300. My last camera I spilled juice all over it then it slipped through my fingers into a puddle. Worth the price for waterproof and shockproof features
