It is so close to Christmas now and time is running out to find those gifts for those ‘hard to buy for’ family members and friends. I myself have a few of them to purchase presents for this year. There are so many awesome things that I would have loved to have given but like so many people we too are on a tight budget and are trying to find a happy medium of a great buy without breaking the bank.
Now even though most are living on a budget technology is on the rise and most households have an iPad or tablet of some description. Life! Live It Up has released a new product called the iCrib. It is basically a bean bag designed for your iPad or tablet and to be honest it is simply genius! The iCrib is such a simple idea that gives you the ability to have both hands free while safely holding your tablet/iPad in the great quality product. Oh and did I mention they are budget friendly which means they are the perfect last minute gift for the tech head or just plain hard to buy for person in your life.
My husband has not let it out of his sight and claimed it as his own the moment it arrived. Yes I realise it is covered in polka dots but it doesn’t seem to have bothered him too much. He loves that it moulds to fit perfectly on his lap and is lightweight and they make the perfect little pillow for lazing on the couch.

My Nan used to always give me blue satin pjs! For birthday, Easter and Christmas! Every single year since I can remember. I never wore them considering my birthday is in winter and I would grow out of them by summer time!
My dad, god love him! Bought me some horrible beaded jewellery that he thought was ‘my taste’, i didnt offend him after his kind gesture of buying me something whilst on his trip away! He was too proud of himself, bless him

A handmade card from my Grandmother. At the time I hated it – it was made from a piece of A4 paper folded in four, then some dried flowers stuck to the front and cover in Contact plastic adhesive covering. It must have been the first time she had used it because it was creased and poorly done. Now this is a special gift I still have in my possession and the is most treasured memory I own from my Grandmother.
An imitation Hello Kitty T-shirt that says ‘Hello Titty’ with a kitty picture that look like a pair of tits!!! How would I ever wear this out?? It has now become my nightie for my hubby to enjoy;)
I got an electric fan for my 18th birthday! (from my parents!!!)
As a Kris Kringle present one year I received a packet of AA batteries with the tag saying “gift not included” and no refund/exchange allowed!
It’s really hard to tell which gift I’ve received is the worst. Personally, I’m happy with any gift because people have their own mind while choosing gifts, which can’t be judged by their value since they may stand for love or friendship and they’re invaluable.As to the worst gift I’ve given, I really have no idea 😀
My pre teen daughter thought I would like a bias cut, leopard print, spaghetti strap, satin nightie in a size 3 times too small even if my lumpy figure could have pulled it off. The awful part was telling her I couldn’t even try it on (would have needed two, one for each thigh) without hurting her feelings.
When I was about 9, I received from an aunt & uncle,a pair of 89c knickers for Christmas(yes the price sticker was left on them) It would have to be the worst and most remembered present EVER!!!
i got given soaps that looked like fruit and things like that the first time igot them i bit the soap as i thought theywere lollies everyone laughed at me so i just cryed after i spat it out and screamed!
well i thought it was a great pressie for my new stepsister, a block of soap with a pretty decal inside that wouldn’t wash away,
but my new stepmother accused me of implying i must think she stinks
As a primary school teacher, one of my students gave a bottle of Head & Shoulders shampoo and Sensodyne toothpaste! Very strange gift, as I don’t have dandruff of sensitive teeth.
I was given a pair of Sandal Socks…..really. Socks with Sandal printed design printed on them, so it looks like you are doing the daggy thing of wearing socks with sandals….I didn’t know what to do…laugh, cry or ram them down my cousins throat. Needless to say, we don’t talk much.
For my 16th birthday my grandmother gave me a packet of dried Apricots and and men’s roll on deodorant!
Most of the time i get nothing at all as i am the mum i buy all the presents….
I blank video tape from my aunty and uncle – I got a clip around the ears from my father when I said
“What a I suppose to do with this?”
“CLIP” – “Its the thought that counts Dad said”
“What thought Dad I dont even own a VCR” (so much for thought hey lol)

I got knickers from my Mother-in-law, plain old granny white ones, as if it’s not bad enough getting such a gift..the fact that they were at least 3 sizes too big, made me feel awesome!
The worst gift I ever received was half used body wash with a tag that said ‘I found it made my skin dry so I thought you might like it’ ………… uh thanks I think.
I’ve received a watch one year, but it didn’t work… so I had to get the battery replaced before I could wear it.. and that being what it is, it took me about 6 months to remember to take the watch with me to a watch repair guy..
One year I got $20 worth of scratch its- already scratched!!! Needless to say there were no winners lol

My worst present was from my mother-in-law who bought me a salad spinner for Christmas that was from the bargain bin…she even left the very cheap price tag on! She always uses the line ‘I bought this especially for you’ even when the present is nothing like what you would want or need.
A horrible pink feathery scarf, granted my miss 5 loved it so it got some use. At that age the gaudier the better lol
Growing up in a family that didn’t always have a lot of money to spend on Christmas, I have always appreciated any gift I have received. That was until I met my sister n law. Last Christmas my hubby and I were “lucky” enough to receive a box of tissues and one candle from her. This was fine as I appreciated the “thought”, until that is, I went into her room and saw the matching candle sitting on her shelf! We were lucky enough to have been given one from her set. At least the tissues were useful and practical!
