I’m Not Trying!

10/09/2012 By All Mum Said 46 Comments

No I am NOT going to try for a girl!

STOP BLOODY ASKING ME!

::Enjoy the random pics of my boys::
*You’ll see why I don’t feel I must have girl*

As you all know I have two boys and no girls. That’s right I only have sons just like so many other families around the world. I am pretty sure that I am not alone when it comes to being asked on a regular basis “Are you going to try for a girl?” To me this seems like not only stupid question but it is also frigging annoying. I personally would not ‘try’ for a specific gender!
I would be trying for a – wait for it…….

A baby!

A boy or a girl – it wouldn’t matter; a healthy and happy baby of either sex. Is that so hard to believe?

I can feel this look of ‘did you think before you spoke’ cross my face each and every time someone asks me this. I don’t mean for it to but from the moment we found out we were having our second boy (not the moment he was born) the actual moment we found out he was a boy from the ultrasound the question got asked!

Please tell me I am not alone on this! I would love another baby but we are not trying at this point in time. Patiently waiting until the timing is better – but guess what? And this may surprise you but….

I will not try to fall pregnant with a girl! Believe or not I would still after all these years still be incredibly happy with another son. Boys are great and I would love to have another boy but I am sure there are fantastic things about having girls as well, I just can’t compare them. Either way I would be super happy and would love for people to understand that it doesn’t take a specific gender to make me want another baby.

It is the joy, the knowledge and pure love from being a mum that makes me want to extend our family.

I can see how this would drive you insane! It drives me insane to hear how people are unhappy when they have a certain gender… Having recently suffered a miscarriage, I would be happy to have a healthy baby – regardless of sex. I think people are losing sight of what a miracle children are, and if you are luckily enough to be blessed with a child, you should be happy no matter what not!

I am so sorry to hear of your miscarriage. I could understand how it would make you angry people being so picky regarding gender. I agree that if you are lucky enough to have kids than you should be happy with that and take what you are given. Some people are unable to have children and would be love nothing more than a healthy baby.

I’m with you Mad Mamma. I happen to have two girls and I am absolutely NOT trying for a boy. You love your kids for who they are, their personality and spirit not for their gender.
Wishing you all the best of luck.

my sister had 2 boys.. and said no more (as husband was like a boy too)… then she fell pregnant… and had a boy..

but she loves them all.. no need for a girl!!

Healthy babies are just what we want no matter what the sex.

Hahahaha yeah a friend of ours had 2 boys and thought she would have another one (try for a girl) and BAM another boy. Happy and healthy is all you can ask for – who wouldn’t be happy with that? Thanks Yvette for stopping by.

I honestly don’t care what gender I have next although I will be honest and say that before Mia was born I hoped to have boys. For no reason other than I was terrified of what life will be like with a teenage daughter that is anything like me. I was a nightmare. But even though I said it, I still didnt really care, I was just desperate for a little munchkin of my own, pink or blue! And I’m starting to feel that way again…god help me!

hahaha and that would be fair enough. I would be scared to if I was a nightmare, lucky I wasn’t too bad. Pink or blue – they both have the same result in my eyes, happy parents and loving children.

I have one boy and four girls, and even after that many , I still get asked if we plan to have another one to try for a boy. Uh, no. We tried to have babies, not particular genders. Some people are just silly *rolly eyes*

I get asked if I’m done now because I have one of each.
But I’m not. I’m done because I have two beautiful healthy children and it’s just a bonus I have one of each.

That is the way it should be – finished having babies because you know you’re done. You are happy with the number of children you have and not continue having them in order to get a child of the other gender.

I have two girls and I adore them but I do get slightly a little hurt when others have a boy and a girl and people say aren’t you so clever, a pigeon pair.

We would also like a little boy but we will be happy with whatever we have – if we choose to try again.

Boy or girl – they all have such different personalities and traits that it doesn’t really matter.

Every kid is so different from each other that I don’t think it really makes much difference besides the obvious pink, dolls, blue, trucks thing.

What a refreshing post – I’m not a mother (I hope to be one day) I knew someone lately who declared that should there baby be a boy they would cry it HAD to be a girl.. I don’t get it one day I hope for a happy healthy baby (gender not minded).

    They are so adorable!!

I think people say that and never stop and think how awkward and insensitive it sounds. I get asked if we’re going to try for a boy all the time. I hate it when people act like my husband must be disappointed I have given him 2 girls and no boys. We are perfectly happy with our CHILDREN, no matter their gender!!
