Babies love to be swaddled and wrapped up tight, right? Well if your children are anything like mine, you will know all too well that some simply cannot stand their movements being restrained. My first three children despised being wrapped up and their arms being tucked in, whereas my newborn (currently three weeks old) doesn’t mind it either way.

As a result of the older children not liking swaddles, we adapted to the use of baby sleeping bags from almost day one. Some are better than others, some have better features than others but I can say with all honesty; I am absolutely adoring the Love To Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag.
It is light and unbelievably soft, which is a must on sensitive baby skin. Created with a new generation muslin, it is 100% cotton knitted fabric and is extra comfortable thanks to the amount of stretch in the fabric.
I love the extra long zipper because it allows nappy changes during the night even easier as you don’t need to remove the Love To Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag, simply unzip and change. If that wasn’t benefit enough, we all know that new babies can be prone to throwing up regularly which is why I love that it can be machine washed. Due to the sleep bag opening flat, you can hang it on the line and it will be dry in a matter of minutes!
The Love To Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag is so simple to use. Lay the bag flat, place baby on top, fold shoulder strap over and clip it, zip it up all the way and it is done! The zip has a cover over the handle as well so you don’t have to fear your baby getting scratched.

Funniest excuse for not going to bed well there have been a few but one of the weirdest and funniest is ” i need to say goodnight to the sun!” Mind you it was dark outside and the sun had already gone to bed. My son has a thing with saying goodnight and goodbye to the most random things!
Little miss 4 couldn’t go to bed because our dog, Brutus, needed her to keep him company. She was talking in quite a serious manner, while big brutus was looking at me as if to say “help me human” Priceless moments.
Good excuse was I’m hungry or thirsty and I miss you so much. Hihi

My daughter once said that the baby in her tummy was kicking, so she couldn’t sleep until it stopped! I think she’d been listening in on an earlier conversation between her very pregnant auntie and I.
Im a day older so i should be able to stay up longer. like um NO!
She has run out screaming saying that there is a dinosaur in her room and then the only thing to be done is that Daddy has to go in there and scare it out!

I don’t find any of them funny, but one that did make me crack a semi-smile was that her sister was keeping her awake by breathing. From the next room.
Hungry, thirsty and has to pee! So now I put a snack and water in her room and bring her to the toilet before naps.
If I don’t watch the end of this show I will wonder what will happen and get no sleep at all.
“I don’t think we’ve had a proper negotiation about bed-time yet.”
Of course, it was pronounced “neg-ocean”. This is not a democracy!
“I have snot on my finger” Was the excuse used tonight! It was swiftly followed by me telling her to use a tissue from her bedside table. Of course then she had to get up and put the tissue in the bin – walking the long way past the tv…
That the mummy and baby dragon are going to fly over soon and we have to stay awake and watch it, otherwise it will burn our house down.
Don’t we have to do homework?
My 3.5 yr old reckons he might fall asleep if he goes to bed and miss everything!
She had no control over her legs. They just took her to the loungeroom.

My son once refused to go to bed because dad farted in his room!!!
Every night, Miss 5 delays going to sleep because “it’s boring to sleep, Mummy. You can’t play when you’re asleep!”. It’s super annoying now, but was funny the first 3 nights.
He said he wasn’t actually my son, but a ‘friend’ who looked exactly like him. So therefore I didn’t have the power to make him go to bed.
I have to help dad pay the bills, I really NEEEEEED you Mum, But perhaps the funniest and gross-est, “HELP!! There’s poo stuck in my bum!!!!” :o/
The dog needs one more pat otherwise she will have inslobia and never get to sleep.
My miss 2 keeps waking up saying someone is laughing to loud in her room,(no one was in room we were in lounge) thought that maybe she was making it up so to try to get out of going to bed , so to get her back in bed isaid i would videotaped 2 nytes in a row, i did forget to look mind you thinking it was an excuse to get out of sleeping, forgot to look at tape until she came out again being woken up with someone laughing, well ended up my daughter was right someone was laughing in her bedroom, i still laugh as i write this ,”its was her”, she laughs so loud in her sleep she wakes herself up, not a happy laugh but a Chucky laugh. wow my partner and i were laughing so hard all she kept saying was stop it stop it mummy its not funny

“daddy needs to do karate on the monsters”
we started this as a way to get our daughter unafraid of her room but now she uses that as an excuse……..every 2 minutes lol
at 13 months he hasn’t pulled any doozies but one night when only about 6 months old he kept wanting kisses & cuddles from Mummy so it scored him an extra 10 minutes.
My daughter explained that she can’t go to bed before she had explained something to her unborn sister. She came over and told my tummy that “when Mummy & Daddy tell you it’s bedtime you have to really listen and go straight to bed, no being silly or making up things to do”. Hmmmm, I could say nothing but laugh.
that’s its not dark outside stupid daylight savings it doesn’t get dark until 9pm

My son likes to check that the moon is still alive and THEN attempts to start counting the stars to make sure they are all there.
But I want to get up with Dad at 4am for the gym, so I might as well stay up so I am ready!
I’m hungry, I’m thirsty, I’m not tired, my pjs are too small, my pjs are too big, its hot, I need blanket, I want to sleep next to brother, in your bed, next to daddy, next to you, the dog takes up too much room, I have to pee, I have to poooooooop.. Yeah….

Daddy said you are really, really old Nanna and might die soon and I don’t want to miss it.
There have been a few, but these memorable ones come to mind:
First she was thirsty/needed to pee.
Then there was a snake in her room (there wasn’t!).
Then there was a fire in her room (obviously there wasn’t!).
I think she fell asleep after all of that excitement!! 😀
Teddy wants to stay up
Cold weather. Fullstop. It was always “too cold” to go to creche, “too cold” to go to bed yet, “too cold” to eat all the dinner. Bless their little cotton socks!!

‘I can’t reach my book’
Mr 3 has been using his torch to read after ‘lights out’. Instead of hopping out of bed to get a book from his shelf (50cm away), he will call us in to get it for him. Think he misses us??
Miss 7 use’s this excuse frequently , ‘She can’t go to sleep yet , because her bed isn’t ready for her , maybe another hour …ok’
Anna was genuinely too scared to go to bed one night because (and it took us a looooong time to figure this is what she was on about) that morning she had found lint in her bellybutton and was convinced her bears had been playing in her bed while she slept and one had dropped some stuffing…………….
That he is far to busy to go to bed, can’t i see everything that he still needs to play with. (very hard not to laugh)
