Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium {Review & Giveaway}

02/04/2013 By All Mum Said 44 Comments

Technology is everywhere and while it is extremely inconvenient when it fails us we all have to admit we rely on it for the most basic things. We use our phones for so much more than just ringing or texting someone, we use it to check the time, to wake us up in the mornings, to take photos and email. The list is endless what we can do with just one device!
I have been giving the new Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium a run for the past week and have come across even more ways to make my day to day easier. It has a HUGE selection of everything you could ever need. It has made budgeting easier with easy to use features and simple data input, it basically does it for you! Thank you Microsoft – I used to hate having to use Excel but now I feel like I am a pro.
The uses I have found don’t stop there! It has menu planning, recipe cards, invoicing and budgeting for small businesses, calendars, awards, cards. I could go on forever about how much the Office 365 can do to make our lives easier but I’m going to stop and give you the chance to win 1 of 5x 12 month subscriptions to Office 365 Home Premium (RRP$119.00) so you can see for yourself how awesome it is!! You can also find some other fabulous tips at www.timeto365.com.
Entry is easy!
All you have to do is follow the directions on the rafflecopter.
If entering using Anonymous you must leave a name & email address that you check in case you are the winner. Failure to do this will result in your entry being null & void.

My 18 month old son was recently hospitalised for a few days and very unimpressed with the whole situation. I stayed in with him and as he had to be in isolation, I wasnt allowed to leave our room. Luckily I had had the foresight to throw the ipad in my bag with the 5 minutes time the ambulance allowed me to pack stuff for him and me for our stay. The ipad allowed me to stay connected with family and friends and to keep them updated with what was happening with my son, kept me entertained when my bubba was sleeping through the games on it and also allowed me to play some of my sons favourite songs through our itunes library on it. A lot of the nurses, when hearing the music in his cot, couldnt believe that it was from the ipad and said what a great idea it was.

I use two computer monitors to increase my accuracy and efficiency. It makes it easier and faster to copy and paste, and also to double check what’s on one screen before I finalise it on the second.

I save time (and money!) by pre-shopping and catalogue hunting online. No more scouring through snail-eaten, soggy paper catalogues and racing around between all the stores to see who’s got the best price! Now with just a few clicks and a bit of online browsing while sipping a nice cuppa (or a sneaky glass of wine!) I have all the knowledge I need to get the best value every time!

I love the camera on my phone. I use it for pretty much everything. From taking photos, recording video, to spy on my son when he’s sitting on his booster seat in the car (me sitting on front passenger seat), to taking shots of business cards or things that I should remember. Yup I love my camera. It’s not used just for memorable memories, it’s used for work purposes too.

I love my laptop and how I can keep all my records, pictures, receipts, music and much more easily accessible and stored without taking up loads of physical space..
I love how I can connect with friends on Facebook. Allowing me more see at a glance what friends are up to without having to make a phone call and being tied up on the phone for hours!
In fact I can do almost everything from my laptop – shop, pay bills, socialize and even work! I don’t need to leave my seat except for coffee refills! Which makes me think, is all this technology making us lazy! We can’t live without it but if it keeps advancing this fast we may one day be ruled my evil robots!!!!!

Hubby and I tend to have some busy schedules at the moment between work and our three children we tend to forget what’s on and when! So we have our calendars synced so whether we’re at home or out and about we can check what’s on and remind each other of important appointments!

I have all my favourite recipes in one folder on my computer for easy access as well as use a weekly menu planning spreadsheet which saves me money at the supermarket buying ingredients I never use as well as crazy impulse buys!

As of today, I’m now using two monitors. Oh my goodness, it’s opened me up to a whole new world. Suddenly I’m doing double what I was before with less effort – aka less searching through 50 tabs to find things!

My PINK laptop for sure!! I love the fact it is PINK for one :-) with a house full of boys I can feel a little out numbered for sure. But being portable is very important I can use my laptop on the run, on the couch or in bed if I need to. Emails, internet keeping up with what is going on in the world.

My TV is number 1. It helps me get the washing done, get dinner on the table, have a shower, 5 minuted at a time. Occasionally i even get to watch something on it, but only when my toddler is having her nap.

    The item most handy,
    That solves me tech needs.
    Is something to do while,
    I sit and breast feed!

    My iPad is nifty,
    And held with one hand.
    I can Google and Facebook,
    Or Skype with my man.

    Nourish my child,
    While watching the news.
    The iPads my saviour.
    The technology I choose!

As a small business operator I used to take my children into the office with me (within days of giving birth) just to keep on top of my administrative responsibilities. The baby would play and sleep in a tiny area beside my desk while I attempted to get my work done.
However before having my third child we decided to get with the times and adopted a web-based accounting system which enabled me to work remotely from home. This means for the first time in my life I got to experience being a WAHM and found the experience wonderful and far less stressful. Without this technology my time as a working mum would have been far less enjoyable and productive.
I’m very interested to see what the Microsoft Office 365 could do to further improve efficiencies around my home and business – it looks great!

The microwave! I’m hopeless at remembering to defrost meat, I love the convenience and taste of microwave popcorn, and my dinner leftovers can be reheated within minutes for easy and yummy lunches. Plus it has a clock to tell me just how late I am running in the mornings!

My Smartphone is my item that makes my life easier through its ability to keep me up to date with my emails whilst I’m out and about. Plus, the ability to keep in contact with friends through facebook. I can readily update and respond with facebook as events happen.

On a more mundane point, my Smartphone allows me to write a TO DO and SHOPPING LIST direct to my phone. No more losing lists or forgetting them. Juggling school activities; being chief cook and bottle washer, and errand girl, my life can be quite hectic. I no longer waste valuable time having to return a 2nd time to complete errands which I should have done the first time.

    Dishes piled everywhere,
I throw my hands up in the air,
I use to wash them all by hand,
the sight of them I could not stand.
And then one day technology came,
in the form of a dishwasher, my life was not the same.
Easy to fill, and press a button,
it washes and dries to my satisfaction,
now I can have a cup of tea and spend more time with family.
