Mother’s Day is creeping up on us again and if you’re anything like me it feels like Christmas has only just passed. Don’t get me wrong I won’t turn down a gorgeous bunch of flowers or box of chocolates (who would?) but sometimes it’s also nice to give and/or receive something that has a little more thought put into it. Sometimes we struggle to find that perfect gift for a number of reasons; whether it be because our mums have everything, we are on a tight budget or have just been that flat out we have left it until the last minute. That’s when it’s nice to know that we can still get a great quality and sentimental gift on short notice and within budget.
Mister Minit has Mother’s Day covered this year! They have released some gorgeous key rings perfect for every mum and grandma at prices starting from a low $9.95. They also offer engraving so you can get that special sentiment inscribed to express just how much you love and appreciate her.
The Clover key ring (shown above) is my favourite just because it is so feminine. It retails for $9.95!! BARGAIN.

GOOD LUCK!!
I love it when the kids make me presents, they are always so proud and I love the look on their faces when I tell them how great the present is.
The best mothers day present is a Hallmark card with a picture of my newborn and I. (It was my husband who created it for him).
I got an iron one year, as much as it’s practical…it wasn’t really the most thoughtful gift!
A plaster mould of our babies hands and feet – a real surprise that we can treasure forever!

Oh that’s gorgeous, I want it! – The best presents are given to me each year, when I see the excitement on the kids faces, wanting to spoil me! They bring me breakfast on a tray – and all my gifts from them displayed, including cards which are handmade – and all is from the heart.
I gave my mum a brass keyring mothers day when I was a kid with a big M on it. The only problem is that her name is Joan. In my mind it was perfectly understandable that as my Mum, she should have a keyring with the letter M on it, not a J. She did have to explain it a lot though, cause everyone always asked about it!

As I am not a mother yet I have not received a present for Mather’s Day although I do get a card from our cat Felix!!! So I will tell you about a handmade card I received from my Grandmother. At the time I hated it – it was made from a piece of A4 paper folded in four, then some dried flowers stuck to the front and cover in Contact plastic adhesive covering. It must have been the first time she had used it because it was creased and poorly done. Now this is a special gift I still have in my possession and the is most treasured memory I own from my Grandmother.

My parents-in-law came to visit on Mother’s Day. After presenting my mother-in-law with some lovely presents, it was now my turn. My father-in-law, very excited, passed over a plastic bag and proudly bragged – “This is from my garden, grown with my own hands”. Nervously looking in, it turned out to be a cabbage. Yes a cabbage was my present for Mother’s Day. My son looked at it and didn’t know how to react. Finally he said “Well I guess we don’t have to worry about what vegies to eat for tea” and walked away. I was just as perplexed.
