You know those opportunities where you are faced with a new experience where you aren’t sure what the outcome may be or what you are even expecting to get out of it? Well thanks to CHUX I had this happen last week.
I received a colour consultation with CHUX Collections ambassador Chris Brazel. As I mentioned above I had no idea what I was expecting to get out of the session but thought why not give it go. I’m glad I did and must start by saying that Chris is not only so easy to talk to but amazing at what she does! She could tell so much about my family and I just by the colours we used around the home.
She talked about my kids as if she knew them just from the way their rooms are set up and the colours and patterns used on their bedspreads. Before talking to her I would have laughed if anyone said this is what the appointment was going to be like but it was incredible. She knew the characteristics and important aspects of every member that lives here – passionate, large belief systems, nourishing of others, emotional, partnerships, balance, security, etc. It was incredible!
She informed me I need to rearrange a few of my pictures and candles in order for things to run a little more smoothly. I need a tall green plant in my living room to boost my career and a rock with red ribbon tied around it in the main bathroom to ensure money stays in our hands where it should be and basically not go down the drain. I learnt so much from this one session that I cannot fit it all in this post but let me say this – if you get the chance to do this – DO IT! I have been surprised by how influential colours are in the home and the impact they can have on your moods.

How interesting! I actually have struggled with my current home as my husband painted it before I moved in and there are a few rooms I think attract bad energy but we are currently painting them. I like bright and summery colours with natural wood and leather furnishings! Great comp Kell.

I love and use any shades of turquoise….as having lived on the beach before….the color reminds of those wonderful times. It is also very soothing and relaxing to me. I also throw in some chocolate browns and some neutrals. Thanks.

I love shades of rust red and sage green
My house is mostly neutral, but I use shades of lavender throughout. The reason why I do this is because lavender (the plant) has a special significance for me. I have it growing in my garden, and there was a time shortly after I miscarried that I went outside and trimmed down the lavender and just had a think about my life, and my loss, and felt a real calmness. I kept the lavender and made up little hessian bags to fragrance the bathrooms with. I went on to use the colour lavender in my home (my bedspread, vases and candles in the bathroom, etc), and now, I also happily have three beautiful daughters.
I have different colours for each room. A light purple and lime green in my lounge room. A warm brown with a hint of red in my bedroom. Colourful pink in the girl’s rooms. Each room definitely has a different feel to them.
We love colour!!! Our home is like a crazy rainbow of over-the-top colours!
In our lounge area we have a modern blue and silver theme happening – even our couch and walls are bright blue!
Our bedroom has a chocolate brown and white theme and our two little girl’s bedroom is bright pink with white detailing and is decorated with butterflies, fairies and all things girly! Our baby boy’s room is blue and green with a jungle theme, which suits our cheeky little monkey perfectly.
My latest project is to colourfy our kitchen… I splurged and bought a retro purple toaster and kettle that I found on clearance at Target the other day, so I’m thinking of a purple and silver theme for the kitchen, but am also tempted to go with a mix-matched rainbow theme.. Did I mention we love colour, lol! 😀
When we moved into our house the floor was green and the walls (dirty) green too. So I refuse to have anything green in the house. Also my mum drummed into our heads when she was young, how much she disliked the colour green. I actually like all the colours of the sixties. Oranges and the kooky patterns that go with that colour. It reminds me of growing up at my grandparents house, having the summer holidays in a caravan with them… I could never do it, my husband would send me packing if I pulled out the paisley!

My house is very white which makes me feel clean and hygenic with decorative red and black furnishings, to add the colour. The red gives me energy and I love how it brightens my home.
I love lemon yellow. Calming, sunny and just generally makes me feel happy and positive.
I love the colours of the rainbow so all the colours would do gloriously well in my home. When I look at a rainbow, I feel happy. Colours really lift my spirits!
The current colours I have in my home are:
Deep wood grain floating floors – These make me feel like country chick (even if it’s no where near that!)
Mocha brown (walls) – This makes me feel fresh and calm
Purple (daughters room) makes me feel funky and girly
Blue (son’s room) – Makes me feel like playing with cars!
Admittedly, there isn’t a lot of colour in my home! I’d really love to add some rosey blush colours, but no idea where/how!
My house is made up of assorted colours such as pinks, ice blue, red and browns, my husband is a painter so no room is ever been finished but I do like all the new colours he brings into our home
I have very few colors in my home, I am actually a little bit afraid of color to be honest – and also a little bit minimalist! Anyone that can convince me to add accent colors AND make me feel good about it would be worth meeting!

I rent my home so most of the colours are neutral or the be that I started with. I e red accent colour to try and prove to self hw brave I am. I also love mauve, purple, lavender . Actually anything in that coour range. I m looking forward to spicing up my place with Chux colour range,,
I moved in to my own house last week. How wonderful to have some help making it into a home.
I would choose RED, a striking colour that will catch my eye and ‘remind’ me that I’ve got some cleaning to do 😉
I have used mild, soft tones in my home purely for their relaxing properties. The colours I have used throughout my home are eggshell whites, beiges, lighter grays, light yellows and light olives. I don’t think highly of trying to keep up with the “Jones” or establishing trendy or designer looks I simply want my home to be one that is comforting and relaxing to live in. A place to come home to and be able to call “home sweet home”!

I have mostly creamy coloured walls as I love that shabby chic look and use a lot of pastel colours..rose, green and creams. My daughters room is pink and everything is pink to go with it…well she is a little girl. I also love lavender and its beautiful aroma and nothing can beat a beautiful vase of roses for colour and inspiration
I pick neutral colour for my home. The main colours are mainly beige, mahogany and white as these are neutral colour. Same goes with our main bedroom. My son’s room on the other hand is full with brick blue and yellow as bright colours make him happy.
Our house is a “bitsa” – a bit o’ green, a bit o’ orange, a bit o’ pink, a bit o’ beige. Colourful, but not very co-ordinated. And the paint is a bit bubbling and peeling. “Home Renovators Delight”?
I use a lot of blues & greens. I find the colours to be fresh & relaxing.
Now I want to hear more about your colour consultation! It sounds great and something I should look into myself. I haven’t decorated things as I would like too yet so it’s something I need to work on. Your post has given inspiration to get going!

My home is full of natural warm colours. Browns, grey stone, grey and beige. I use hints of brighter colours to add a bit of spritz.

I love colour and enjoy a myriad of hues, But it is purple and burgundy that I most choose.
Depends on the room, my girls rooms pastels, fun, happy, gorgeous just like they are. Kitchen I love my white & silver:) and living room dining room use earthy, homey tones, deep red, brown and even a little burgundy. Comfort and perfect for our castle.
I have browns, creams and reds in my home. The reds are energetic, while the creams and browns are relaxing. Overall a feeling of balance. I love coming home to my house.
Blues are calming and peaceful, wonderful color for a home. I like warm colors in the kitchen because a kitchen should feel warm and inviting – so reds, oranges, and yellows.

Loving a simple but loving house my partner loves clutter free and simple colours… So as a loving partner and wanting to stay within what he would like as well, we went with black furniture, dark nude walls (beautiful colour) and white carpet. I’ve never felt brave enough for much colour (which possibly says something about my character) but tend to stick to neutral walls and hang paintings for interest. I love a nice painting, luckily one of my daughters is a beautiful artist!
My room consist of a pretty blue compared to my purple before which changed my room from dark and gloomy to bright and beachy!
Haven’t really got a colour scheme at my place….blue lounge, beige coloured wall lol, but I would really love to be able paint the lounge room walls a dark coffee colour and have huge cane fans hanging on the wall ❤

I use light green for the walls because it relaxes me. Ever wonder why the walls are green in mental asylums?
The interior of our home is painted in a light cream colour (white birch) but each room has colour themes running through the furnishings. For instance our lounge/dining has Navy and a touch of Green, our family room has Aubergine and Lime green running through it. We have deliberately kept the base neutral so we would be free to change our minds in regards to splashes of colour (I get bored and like to change things often). It makes me feel calm to have this set up but it’s not boring due to the colour highlights!
All my walls have been painted white – Antique White USA to be exact – which might seem boring but I find it the perfect canvas to build upon. Anything goes with white! The kids room have pink decorations as my girls are in the princess mode. My living room has grey/teal as the highlights with brown wooden furniture. The teal gives the pop of colour that is needed when a lot of the room is made up of white, grey and brown. My family room is all about comfy leather couches (black as I have 3 kids under 5!), green rug and cushions and paintings. What I love about the white walls is that it doesn’t date and I can change the colours to suit. I’m getting a bit bored of the green so thinking now to change to red! So much easier (and cheaper) to change colours at whim if you don’t need to repaint walls! I absolutely love teal and find the grey/teal combo works surprisingly beautifully together!
I love purple and green and use it in various ways throughout my home. These colours are just about in every room of my house. I may need an intervention as it only occurred to me today as I was turning the key in the front door that my coloured housekeys were purple and green also. I need help…..

Are we talking about what colours I already have, or what I would like to have, they’re 2 very different answers!
I despise the current jumble of hideous pastel pink and green, mixed with discoloured old carpet and outdated tiles I have. It makes me feel annoyed and frustrated that no matter how clean everything is, it never quite looks it. Also every time I look at these colours I feel stressed, it’s like looking at a HUGE to do list!
I can’t wait until I can really make my house my own so it feels tranquil, calming and organised!
I want to start with a clean canvas of really light brown/neutral and some mocha/chocolate feature walls. Wooden floors, a bright/deep red focal point in each room, leafy green bonsais and colourful family photos on the walls. I think once it’s all done it will feel much more like our happy little family space like it should be.
We mainly have very pale grey for half the wall and separated by Dulux “Tea Rose” lower half and nice rose frieze – looks great and is relaxing and great to enjoy
Im more the heritage look of deep browns, Dark green and Cream rather cotaggish (if thats a word)look, it always has a homely feel in my main Lounge and dining its more moderns of blacks and silver outlay and furniture
I use purple at my home. Because I love lavender and a funny story about lavender. Once my hubby asked me which flower is lavender. I told him that lavender is purple. Since then, every time he sees purple flower, he calls it lavender. I know he’s just kidding me but always makes me giggle.
I have Daughters and no sons so our bedrooms are all shades of pink and very girly. The main living areas the walls are white with a hint of blue so the life comes into the room with all the differant accessories. Ive gone for the country look and have all differant colours in my rugs and throws, vases and paintings. I also use scented candles of various differant shades and scents to add that welcoming homey feel.
My laundry is painted blue. It looks very clean and expresses how doing laundry makes me feel. Blue…wouldnt it be wonderful if it just did itself?
Most of all i love the white in the living areas as I can change the look so easily. Black and Orange for Halloween. Red, green, gold, silver for Christmas. Any colour of our choosing for Birthday Parties. You name it and I can make it happen
these are such good products ive used chux for years we dont go camping without the chux its so good to even keep in the boot for an emergency!
Because we rent from Defence (military family) we can’t change the basic neutrals of our home(s), so I love to brightened up, or soften down, individual rooms with accessories. For the master bedroom I tend to decorate with rich burgundy and cream in winter and then switch to fresh ocean blue and white in summer time.

As we rent, I don’t have any say in what colours the walls/floor/etc are, but when I do have a choice I always seem to go for blues. I went through a phase of buying things from opp shops, sanding them back and painting them so they matched, and I chose a nice gray-tinged blue for the bedroom (very relaxing). Out in the loungeroom I picked a bright turquoise-blue for picture frames and such, it added a nice punch of colour to the otherwise bland room.
Areas I spend less time in get a more neutral treatment, my sewing desk in the end room is a nice toffee/caramel kind of brown, and most of my bookshelves are shades of brown or timber.

My house is mostly made up of neutral colours – sandstone coloured tiles throughout, natural white walls, and chocolate carpet. In the kitchen I have blue/grey stone inspired benches and the bathrooms also have a lighter blue speckled benchtop with natural stone feature tiles.
But my house still has colour – brightly hand woven cushions from India, my bedspread is a rainbow of colours inspired by Mexico, colourful bowls and ceramics from Spain, Africa and Holland brighten my walls – along with colourful photos of the kids. I don’t like to be limited to just one colour scheme – I like to be able to mix it up!
And just so you know I already have two tall green plants in my living room – I wonder if that means I will be twice as lucky with my career?
Hmmm…what item/colour do I need to add to my house to improve my luck with winning this competition? 😉
Chux reminds me of cleaning when i was a kid
I have yellow walls in my living and kitchen areas because it’s a happy colour and I like to feel happy. I have blue with some of the yellow to give a beach-y/summer feeling (I absolutely love summer). The bedrooms have green walls to be a bit cooler and more peaceful for sleeping. My bedspread is white with a splash of red, it feels pure yet a little romantic or maybe naughty (why not)
At the moment, i absolutely love white leopard print but i dont over due it as you have to be very careful with leopard print so it doesnt end up looking tacky, as it goes really nice with the purple curtains i have.
Reds and Chocolate
When we first moved into our home all our appliaces where red just lucky that chocolate can go with anything. Brown gives us strength and red stimulated the mind and body.

We have just moved into our first home and yet to decorate it as we’d like!
Currently, though, we have light yellow-green/beige walls in most rooms(not sure if that’s the actual colour of the paint or patina of age)In the kitchen there are (a very dull shade of)lime-green cupboards paired with chipped and worn dark wooden laminate benches(erk), and mint green in the bathroom that needs gutting and starting from scratch due to rotting timber behind the leaking tiles.
Of the items we brought with us, a lot is natural timber, cane and we have a cream, pale apricot and golden yellow brocade quilt cover with cream curtains.
The couches are a deep blue with golden swirls and have pale blue, brown and beige cushions…all inherited or bought second-hand.
The dream is to paint most walls white or cream to lighten the place up then ultimately remove the worn coffee coloured carpet, and polish floorboards or install floating floorboards..creating a clean canvas. This would allow us to change the colours of the decor as we felt like it,could afford it or with the seasons; by using a variety of cushions, throws, artwork, pot plants and rugs.

When I’m feeling BLUE, I listen to PINK because she helps me paint the town (room) RED. I’m no shrinking VIOLET – I leave everyone GREEN with envy. I’m loving my 50 shades of GREY 😉

Our new (second hand) house has grey walls which are just so cold (and a bit dated). At least they match the pink and grey bathroom. LOL!

I currently live in a part of a farm shed with earthy red brick walls and silvery colourbond steel but we are renovating a mobile home and I’m going to try cool blue colours (since I live with 3 males I need to keep them and me calm).
My home is quiet colourful,the walls are cream but my furniture &things are bright. The main colours in my home are purple,aqua,orange &pink. Aqua is the most prominent colour. Colour makes me feel happy &its fun. My garden is filled with different geraniums for the same reason.
I’d love to CHUX some NEW colour into my world! For over 20 years my home has been all neutrals and naturals…creams, whites, greens, and I would really love some help and advice on how to change this bland habitat of mine into a colourful, cheery one!

I use “PEACE Green” as it calms my little 3 years daughter who loves to run around making mess so when she lays down for a nap she sees my “PEACE Green” walls and goes to sleep.
We have all very natural colours. Browns, creams, white etc. Then I can regularly change the room with accessory changes.

Neutral tones on walls and windows. I then add accent cushions, vases etc depending on the season. I have yellow accessories for spring, red for summer, dark brown for autumn and blue for winter. Feels like a new home every season!
My bedroom is painted a very soft light purple which I find very restful and relaxing. I’ve read that it’s the easiest coloured room to go to sleep in and it doesn’t surprise me – initially I thought that was silly as it’s dark when you go to sleep and you can’t see the wall colours! But living in this room and trying out other coloured rooms I really do believe that’s true, there’s just something very meditative and peaceful about this colour… and as an added bonus, it’s easy to decorate with furnishings!
As I’m writing this the sun is setting and the soft pastel colours of the sky outside perfectly match my walls

I tend to choose pale colours, mainly because we have a small house and lighter shades make it feel a bit bigger and more open.
Although it’s probably a bit to plain for the kids as they’ve been known to add some rainbow crayon touches to the walls!
On another note, I’ve used a bit of feng shui in our place, just small things like a lucky bamboo plant from Bunnings, adding pictures of moving water and general de-cluttering and I definitely feel it’s had a positive effect on our lives.
