There are a few jobs around the home that no one honestly enjoys doing. Scrubbing and cleaning the dishes are one of those dreaded chores for me. There is nothing that could possibly change this besides dishes that clean themselves! I much prefer to use the dishwasher (this is no secret to anyone who knows me) but there are times when it doesn’t seem logical to use it if there is less than a full load – in this case I get the soapy job of scrubbing.
I do however like it when I find a product that makes my job a little (or lot) easier and that is exactly what the Palmolive Ultra range has provided me with. It has a great range and whilst I can only comment on the Antibacterial and the Pomegranate; I have no questions as to whether the remaining collection will not disappoint either.
There are definite benefits to both variants and as they are both concentrate formulas it means you also use less which inevitably saves you money. I was impressed at how long the suds lasted for; I had scrubbed and cleaned all the dishes from breakfast and lunch and as you can see there was still plenty of washing power left in the sink.
The Palmolive Ultra Antibacterial dishwashing liquid contains lemon extracts which that fight germs on your cloth or sponge for a minimum of 24 hours and thoroughly cleans your dishes! (Make sure you always take care of your cloths though and ensure they are clean). It also contains natural antibacterial agents that combat unwelcomed bacteria and let’s face it – who doesn’t want that?
The Palmolive Ultra Pomegranate dishwashing liquid provides a more delightful dishwashing experience as the fresh and fruity pomegranate scent infuses your kitchen without being over-powering. It cuts through grease and leaves dishes sparkling clean (Did you just read that with the voice in the dishwasher ads? – I did)
Both ranges are a great accessory for your kitchen sink and at only $4.99 for 750ml it is affordable at its best. As the title mentions I have a few of these to giveaway.

I don’t want to be too graphic, so I will just say that I had the good fortune of being present when my sister’s waters broke…
Driving home from a family dinner. My son ate too much food. We had to pull over after he vomited all over himself, the car seat and the back of the car. Using baby wipes to clean most of the mess we stripped him down to his nappy, the car seat down to the plastic and continues home. This is the worst mess to clean up when you are pregnant and have all day morning sickness yourself.
Red cordial on the carpet, diarrhea from my two year old all over the floor… my hubby (very intoxicated) once peed on the fireplace – he thought it was the toilet, and I had to just stand, watch, wait until he’d flooded the floor and dropped back into bed before proceeding to clean up, yuck!! Things we do as Mothers and Wives..
My son used to like taking of his nappy,
And the mess- let’s just say it was crappy,
All over the cot, he got the sheets too,
Covered from head to toe in poo!,
It was on the carpet,
Where he had dropped it,
On his teddy bear,
My gosh it was everywhere!,
Of course I was home alone,
No husband to help clean the disaster zone,
Let’s just say it never happened again,
From that day on sticky tape was my friend! lol
I worked for a party hire company and there is nothing worse than having to clean a load of returned crockery that has been thrown up on. Yuck!
my kids have just got over gastro …nuff said !!

when the husband decided to use liquid nails to put up a mirror in my bathroom, he had his socks stuck to the floor, hand prints on the walls…in the end the mirror was put up the wrong way!
The night before his sister’s birthday my husband went to a get together for the men (always a mistake the night before the wedding). Needless to say he was not feeling the best when he arrived home, and threw up on the bedroom carpet and in his shoes. Unfortunately we had a house full of visitors so I had to stay in the bedroom all night.
My teenage son was sick all over the toilet bowl so left it and went and stayed with a friend until we came home – 3 days later
It’s hard to know where to begin really. All of the body fluids & waste have their own degrees of nasty. Gastro, of course, is a fun one with grossness exploding from both ends at once & not just the little one either.
I was painting a cot that I had brought for my mother-in-law to use at her house when our baby was born, her garage was the most spotless one I had ever seen, until I spilt white paint all over it, it’s still there 13 years later as a guilty reminder!
The worst that I ever had to clean is my laundry sink that we use to soak his cloth nappies. The main problem is we forgot to wash it for a week. Let’s say stinking nappy, mixed with Napisan left in water doesn’t produce pleasant smell.
I had to clean a huge squashed huntsman spider off my hubby’s shoes and the wall…ewwww!!! Took me 2 hours with much gulping!
The toilet is always the worst
making my tummy churn, it might burst!!
forever cleaning and making it shine
making it smell nice, just in time
for hubby and kids to make another mess
oh ! the cleaning and the stress.
A 10 mth old that thought she would try her hand at wall painting, but not with pens or pencils ect.. Yes she put her hand in her nappy and used her poop.. Then I had to clean that and my vomit as it got me badly
It was a very wet and miserable day and as my husband and I arrived home the phone rang. I answered it and my husband went to feed the dog. The dog had been outside in the rain and had been running around the garden and was covered in mud. Somehow he got past my husband and ran around the house with his muddy, wet paws. Next thing I know the dog has arrived at the lounge room, stops suddenly on my Egyptian mat and shakes wildly sending mud and water everywhere. I screamed, nearly sending my friend deaf, on the other end of the phone. I hung up quickly and surveyed the damage. Mud everywhere, carpet, walls etc. and one very dirty dog. It took days to clean the mats and carpets and of course the dog needed a bath too! Quite funny now of course.
2 days before we were due to fly out to Ireland my daughter got gastro…every step she made out came a new batch, it was all over the floors, took 4 of us to clean it all up!
The most recent worst thing – vomit all over the car. My 3 year old vomited twice one after the other in which went all over his top, pants, shoes, the carseat, the back of the drivers seat, the middle seat and the floor in front of him. It took a LOT of scrubbing to clean that mess!
At a restaurant once, my toddler son had such a nappy explosion that I had to throw his singlet in the bin then and there, strip off all his clothes and put them in nappy sacks to hide the smell and take them home to soak. I also had to apologise to the staff and get them to empty the rubbish bin in the toilets!
My oven. It seems to lurk in the background smiling at me to clean it!! I try to avoid it but it sucks me in, 1 hr later all clean and shining, till I have to cook
When my son was about 7 he had vomited during the night. He did not wake me up. He was caked in it by morning. I did think of just throwing the bedding away. I had to soak my son in the bath, which presented another problem – a gross bath to scrub out.
It took 2 baths to clean my son & about three launders before the bedding was decent.
The house just stunk.
Gastro (both ends) on carpet. I don’t think I need to develop further
When a toddler is quiet often it means they’re up to something…and this was more often than not the case with my son Riley. (now 4 and starting school next week *sniff*)
Back when he was around 21 months it was nice and quiet for a little…and then I thought ohhhhh no….what is he up to? I walked out the room and saw flour on the floor…followed the trail and there he was- WHITE from curly hair to his little toes gleefully throwing handfuls in the air and stomping, happily stamping clouds of flour into the air and everywhere! I looked at him and stifled a laugh despite the mess that I knew would have to be cleaned, he looked so funny and cute!!
It did take ages to clean up though, I never realised a bag of flour could go that far lol.
My darling hubby recently dropped a 6-pack of beer stubbies in the hallway on our tiled floor! Glass shattered everywhere, beer was foaming and frothing up and then ran in onto the carpet in our bedroom(because of course he happened to drop them right outside our bedroom door!), and my darling 17-month old toddler decided he wanted to help drink it in the middle of it all (obviously been watching Daddy a bit too much)! It was a mess that involved lots of towels, the dustpan and brush (and the vacuum cleaner once the floor was dried), a bucket of warm water and dishwashing liquid to mop the tiles, and after trying to soak up as much beer as possible out of the carpet with towels, I tipped an entire packet of bi-carb soda onto the carpet to soak up the last of the wetness and to elimanate any beer odour. That stayed there for 2 days until it was completely dried before being vacuumed up (it worked like a charm on the moisture and odour), and finally the clean-up was complete!
Weevils all over the floors of my whole house, it only happened once and I have no idea why, we were all replussed, but guess who had to clean them up? Yes me, how did you guess?

The thought of cleaning the grote, yuk!!
on their for dear life and forever stuck.
needing an old toothbrush to weave my magic
the thought of this ugly task, tragic
Lets just say I left the packing of the kitchen to my husband when we moved…all the cups, glasses and serving plates, all the glue in the world couldn’t fix that mess!
I discovered that cloth nappies just slip down off a toddlers hips – the hard way. Poop & carpet are NOT a good mix. I was actually in tears at this one, because where do you even start?

the worst mess i had to clean was my house i had rented to a guy and he had left the propertywhen i returned to find the house abandoned it had no windows in the back and the animals had been living inside the backyard was a wrecking yard and the inside well lets say a toilet and the dogs had eaten the bed from the centre of the mattress outwards while the electric blanket was plugged in and turned on :0 the worst was the next day i returned again to find the house had nearly caught fire that night and all the wiring had burnt out through the whole unit due to an external point being put in and not properly we were very lucky and have never had such a disaster since we even tore the carpet up and threw it out as it smelt like the dogs i wont say how it looked
Picture 2 large dogs romping and rolling around an extremely muddy backyard before someone getting inside and running and shaking their mud everywhere inside a very white house! It was incredible how mud managed to get on almost every surface including the ceiling
my teenagers room….eww!
With hubby and 2 young boys with bad aim in the house, cleaning the toilet is sometimes very gross and dry reaching happens!
The tiny crumbs and debris
lurking in the laptop keyboard;
makes me go eeeeeeeeeee,
and the grime on the cord!!!
We have baby number 3 due in 6 weeks and I’m not looking forward to the number 3 explosions that newborns tend to do YUCK lots of mess and soaking of their little clothes.
We came back from a two week vacation to find that the potatoes in the pantry were writhing with maggots & had pretty much liquefied into a putrid puddle.
Such a gag worthy clean up.
(I keep my potatoes in the crisper now.)

try cleaning vomit off of a pile of LEGO…in all the grooves and open bits..took forever!
Cleaning of the laptop after my son said, i dont feel well!!!!!!!!! omg 😛
My son once painted his cot after removing his dirty nappy …… ewwww thank goodness it only happened once! Was tempted to just buy a new cot!
New road works, new carpet = black tar footprints and a bucket load of tears.
cleaning up after my son had gotten gastro and it was pouring both ends
The mess after we had a bunch of people over for Australia Day was not pleasant to clean up, food everywhere, drinks spilled, some adults are messier than kids!
We have a sewer mainline that ends with the manhole in our backyard. This line is ‘fed’ from the whole street. It backed up & backed up BAD. The council sent trucks & men & equipment, but that caused it’s own problems. They tore up the yard & my lovely load of laundry on the line was splattered. To say it was UNPLEASANT is quite an understatement.
(You don’t realise until you sit & think just how much SH** you have to put up with. In this case literally)
2 little boys and 2 lamingtons – coconut and chocolate fingerprints all over my lounge and dining room !! ARGH Happy Australia Day
My dog treading in her poo and walking it through the house, yuk!!!!
Being a plumber, I had to scoop poo out of a toilet cistern at a restaurant to get the toilet working again. Of course I’ve come across worse, but don’t want to gross you out!
Worst mess I had to clean was a huge flower pot/soil everywhere!
I once had to clean my neighbour’s vomit, she came over for a chat and ended up leaving more than what she expected, it was horrible cleaning it.
when my son decided he would draw all over our carpet with chalk, that was a fun mess to clean up!
I’ve had a thick layer of mud, washed in from this horrific week of weather, in my laundry. It actually required a shovel & hose off to get rid of it. Whoever is doing the rain dance – stop now!!
Huand and kids went crabbing…… no crabs but sand everywhere!!! clogged up mu vacuum and the motor blew up
sorry husband!!! lol
A huge pile of paper I had ready to neatly stacked ready to file when my son opened the door and a huge gust of wind blew them all over the room – I literally cried
last year when there was a rain/hail storm xmas day.we were trying to get the blankets on our car and my daughters and she starts screaming its coming inside mum do something when i get there the waters in my hallway and we have carpet in every room except the wet rooms and kitchen so we had a lovely mesh to clean as well as outside as the damage was unbelievable and i lost all my vegies
hubby let the kids play out under the carport with paints yesterday, it was all over the roller doors, walls of the house, the concrete..we now have a colourful carport as I couldn’t get it all off the bricks!
By the yellow stain on my carpet, I think you’d see that the most recent nasty thing I’ve cleaned is a diarreha accident on an un-nappied 11 month old. Carpet. Puzzle. It was bad. Needing to call in reinforcements… do you have any giveaways for carpet cleaner too!? 😉
I have learnt my lesson with rotten food in lunch boxes. Vigilance & good habits are key. The smell just lingers. Not only in the lunch box, but the entire backpack & therefore the house.
Found a tupperware container at the back of the fridge which may have been there a few weeks too long – the smell was putrid and the contents were totally unrecognisable!
Opening the cupboard to find the stench of potatoes gone off, disgusting and it seems to ooze everywhere, a cleaning nightmare
after 9am this morning I will be the biggest mess I have had to clean up, with the baby of the family off to his first full day of Kindy, I will be left home alone
I will never forget the day I let my sons go across the road to the oval to kick the footy. (they had been complaining the backyard was too small) They picked the muddiest, and smelliest patch to play in, and of course fell over in it! And once they had fallen over in it I’m told they decided they might as well ROLL in it!!
Hubby let them in the house covered in said smelly mud to traipse around the house looking for me.
So, the worst clean up? Smelly muddy foot prints, smelly muddy clothes and smelly muddy boys… even the inside of their ears!!
I think getting vomited over by your child in the middle of the night is ‘retch-ed.
Red wine on beige carpet with a bad hangover was pretty awful!
was helping my sister in law after the black Saturday fires in kinglake west and we are all still helping
Mister not cleaning the BBQ immediately after use. Maggots among the greasy mess are the stuff of my nightmares.
Just cleaned my wheelie bin that has had prawns and meat in it and been sitting in 40 degree heat all week – GROSS!
The first poo my son every did in the bath (at 18 months old) He didn’t realise, and we didn’t realise… Until it had started to disintegrate and colour the water. Ewww.
How about the time the Mister spilled soap powder all over the carpet & instead of dry vacuuming it up he decided to use a bucket of water & cloth. We had suds & wet carpet for what seems like forever. Of course he boasted, that the carpet never looked cleaner. I do hate it when he’s right.
My recent cleaning disaster was after hubby decided to give me the night off cooking – OMG he used every single pot, frypan and utensil we owned!! ARGH!
The Mister’s bait & fishing box is always RIPE after a day out in the sun. Not my responsibility to clean it, just to remind HIM to get that stench out of my laundry. I doubt he’s EVER cleaned it.
Oh I just remembered the time I dropped an unopened can of coke on the tiles in my lounge (on route to the kitchen fridge ) and as it hit the tiles it spun and exploded hitting every single surface in the entire room from ceiling to every wall, new TV, lounge and door – so sticky and brown. Can’t drink coke since then!
no mess I have ever had will every compare to what those families are having to clean up in QLD, NSW and all the other states, if only this prize would help them get everything back to the way it was
One time after a party I did not do a clean up until the next morning. It was ten times worse with a hangover. From then on, no matter how long it takes, I attack the mess straight after the last guest has gone.
