I think that you need to do whatever is best for each child and it sounds like this has really worked well. Good luck and well done for sticking to your guns :o)

I efuse to have children that ae so selfish and expect everything just handed to them. What a great change. I know that when a time comes here that similar things happen I will be doing as you did. They are children and yes it may be harsh but they need to learn. I don’t what kids that want everything and has a fit when they don’t get it. ]]> By: Jess@Diary of a SAHM http://allmumsaid.com.au/part-2-the-result-of-the-lesson/#comment-388 Tue, 29 May 2012 23:33:31 +0000 http://madmummas.com/?p=183#comment-388 I missed the initial post, but good on you! I’ve done something similar as well. It’s such a concrete way for them to learn, and really understand.
So glad it worked so well for you. ]]>

It’s another one of those instances where you’re reminded that parenting is all about persistence and just sticking to your guns! My son only seems to undestand when he can compare it so that’s what we did, gave him something to campare it to. Kids are stong but as parents I think it is our job to be stronger so we can teach them these lesson in life. ]]>
