Pitango ~ Have you tried it?

30/09/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

If your family is anything like mine then the flu is bound to hit your unsuspecting family now that the weather has begun to warm up. Every year we make it through Winter with minimal doctors visits and then Spring hits us and the dreaded cold and flu decides to strike us down. We often make Chicken Noodle Soup when we feel less than 100% because carnosine (a compound found in chicken soup) helps the bodies immune system fight off the cold/flus.

There are a lot of families that often don’t have time to make Chicken Soup and this where Pitango has thought of a way to make things more convenient and easier. They produce a range of nourishing feel-good soups, risottos and sauces (which I should mention the Pitango Chicken Miso and Moroccan Chicken Soup are $1 off at Woolworths until 22nd October). I have personally tried these 2 soups and while one wasn’t quite my cup of tea the other one is now a favourite of mine!

As I said there was one soup that didn’t leave me wanting more and this is purely because of the soup flavour. While it was made with high quality and fresh ingredients I just couldn’t get past the spinach taste; keep in mind that this was a Chicken Miso so a Japanese flavour was to be expected. What I did like about the soup though was that it is 99% fat free! I also tried and very much enjoyed the Pitango Moroccan Chicken Soup and all the delicious flavours. I found that every mouthful gave me a new flavour to appreciate and knowing that it contained no nasty stuff or preservatives made it all the more delightful to eat. I love food with real ingredients and this soup didn’t disappoint; it was like a home cooked without the effort!

You can find more details and view their range on their website and facebook page.

What is your favourite soup?
