]]>Most little girls have the dream of being a mum, feeding their baby and dressing up pretty. Actually no scrap that. A lot of toddlers, boys and girls, love pretend play.
I have written about why pretend play is vital for children previously on the blog, you should read it!
I know so many boys that enjoy playing ‘mums and dads’ just as much girls do. They look after their baby, go to work and even cook ‘dinner’ for their family. My son used to pretend he was a dad all the time, he also had a passion for cooking and he mimicked my husband and I every chance he got. (We are both chefs).
My 2 year old daughter has recently discovered her love for food and ‘cooking’. She fills up containers and uses utensils to make her creations but longed for a kitchen that was small enough for her to reach without the use of a chair.
This wish of hers came true when the most adorable Brio red stove was set up to surprise her when she arrived home from child care. She squealed with joy and has barely played with anything else since.
The Brio red stove comes flat packed but seriously only takes a couple of minutes to put together and requires only 2 screws! It was so easy to build.

• Comfort – Even though it is narrower than other car seats, it doesn’t lose any comfort! This is so important, especially when taking long trips in the car. The Thermo5 fabric is one of Britax’s newest revolutions. It is a bamboo fabric that is soft and smooth on skin, knitted with airflow and is perfect for children of all ages.

Saves a lot of time trying to locate it under their backsides.

]]>My daughter is now 6 weeks old and unlike her older brothers and sisters, loves to be swaddled. My other three children couldn’t stand being wrapped up tight or swaddled and would kick the wrap off and cry until they were freed from being swaddled.
My new little miss on the other hand, loves being swaddled, just as much as being free to kick around. She likes to move her hands though so traditional swaddling doesn’t work. This is why we adore the Love To Dream Swaddle UP Summer Lite so much. I find that because she can still move her arms, she settles herself by sucking her hands or rubbing her face. The fact her hands are secured in the Swaddle UP also prevents her from scratching her face during the night. The fabric is light which is perfect for summer as the material breathes which keeps her cool. The fabric is extremely soft to touch making it ideal for fresh, new and sensitive skin.
The arms and hands are positioned in an infants natural resting place which makes them comfortable but still allows them to be snuggly swaddled. My daughter is a great sleeper, she only tends to wake once a night for a feed and I think the Swaddle UP plays a large part in her sleeping so well.
Nappy changes are easy as well, thanks to the two-way zip. If your bub is easily woken, these zips will assist you in checking and changing their nappy with minimal disturbances.

Like everything we buy for our kids, we want to get the most value for money that we can. Online printing has never been easier than it is with PhotoBox. They have a huge range of products that can be personalised, gifted and enjoyed – perfect for Christmas gifts! I impressed by their speedy turn around time, items were printed and received within a week and a half. I ordered a few canvas prints that turned out beautifully and a new coffee mug because I believe you can never have enough of those.
The canvas prints come in a range of sizes and thicknesses. I just got the standard size (which is thinner than every other canvas I have purchased elsewhere), if you want thicker ones you have to pay extra. This is also the case if you want hanging things included, they do not come attached either. I was surprised by this but cannot complain about the price or quality.
The mug on the other hand, I absolutely love!! I personalised it with photos of my family, a background that suited my taste and my absolute favourite part is the silver glitter interior. Until recently I hadn’t heard of the Misfit Shine. Now however, it doesn’t come off my wrist which is great that it doubles as a watch! It helps me to stay motivated, which is essentially helping me to lose some of the weight I gained during pregnancy. I have set myself a goal, one that I know is achievable and gradually increase it to suit my improving fitness. The well-known household brand Curash has been a saviour with my newborn. She got nappy rash when she was only a couple of weeks old and within days of using the nappy rash cream it was completely cleared up. I am not usually a fan of thick zinc like products (similar to Sudocrem) but that is more to do with the tub they come in and how you have to scoop your fingers in the tub; the Curash nappy rash cream comes in a tube which is so much better. I like it more because I believe it is more hygienic and the cream doesn’t get stuck underneath my finger nails. ]]>Babies love to be swaddled and wrapped up tight, right? Well if your children are anything like mine, you will know all too well that some simply cannot stand their movements being restrained. My first three children despised being wrapped up and their arms being tucked in, whereas my newborn (currently three weeks old) doesn’t mind it either way.
As a result of the older children not liking swaddles, we adapted to the use of baby sleeping bags from almost day one. Some are better than others, some have better features than others but I can say with all honesty; I am absolutely adoring the Love To Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag.
It is light and unbelievably soft, which is a must on sensitive baby skin. Created with a new generation muslin, it is 100% cotton knitted fabric and is extra comfortable thanks to the amount of stretch in the fabric.
I love the extra long zipper because it allows nappy changes during the night even easier as you don’t need to remove the Love To Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag, simply unzip and change. If that wasn’t benefit enough, we all know that new babies can be prone to throwing up regularly which is why I love that it can be machine washed. Due to the sleep bag opening flat, you can hang it on the line and it will be dry in a matter of minutes!
The Love To Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag is so simple to use. Lay the bag flat, place baby on top, fold shoulder strap over and clip it, zip it up all the way and it is done! The zip has a cover over the handle as well so you don’t have to fear your baby getting scratched.
I cannot rate this Nuzzlin Sleep Bag highly enough!!

]]>With our baby girl due to be born in just a week, it was perfect timing to receive a gorgeous package in the mail from Audrey and Me.
A few weeks prior I received an email asking if I was interested in any of their products for review purposes and to offer my amazing readers a giveaway; I tell you what, it was hard to narrow down what I wanted to try because everything was so beautiful.
I decided on a Play Mat in the Scandinavian Village print and a maple teething ring with soft green zebra fabric. They arrived carefully wrapped with the utmost attention to detail and effort taken. It was truly stunning!
I don’t even know where to start to tell how much I love this mat! From the lovely print to the practicality, I cannot fault it! The play mat rolls and ties for easy storage, which also makes it ideal for travelling. You can cut down on the large items you lug around and just take the mat.
The corners can be tied up to provide your baby with a secure area to lay, have tummy time or play. However if you prefer to leave them undone, the mat lays flat and makes for a great soft place for your baby to rest or play.
One of my favourite features is that this 100 x 76 cm padded mat is machine washable! Yes that is right you can keep this play mat looking its best at all times without fear it will break. The fabric is great quality and I can see it being a desired baby item in our home for the foreseeable future!
None of my previous children had a natural maple wood teether but I just couldn’t say no to this one, it was too cute! The wood is soft and smooth which makes it ideal for little ones. The combination of this wood with the fabric bunny ears, offer comfort while soothing sore and teething gums and it is available at an affordable price!

We try to utilise the safer hours in the sun by going out and playing when the UV alert is lower, however this is not always possible. There is something about the smell of them that has always made me want to get outside and enjoy the sunlight. Or maybe it is just the old Banana Boat ad that instantly starts playing in my head!
