Our first and last christmas with my mum, her siblings and their spouses and children and my grandparents was most memorable being all together. So much fun. Our papa sung to us all playing on the organ “i did it my way”, by frank sinatra.

My most memorable Christmas that I can remember from the last few years is 3 years ago, but not for a good reason. I spent Christmas at home in bed with gastro while hubby and the kids had fun with the family. We are all currently unwell again, fingers crossed the germs are gone by Christmas day!

My big sister (7y) and me (5y) were dropped off at our Aunt’s Christmas Eve. We woke up Christmas day still there! We are both in our 40’s now, and to this very day, we will never let them off the hook! Mum and Dad had taken off on a Christmas flight over the Antartic first class! They arrived back Boxing day and picked us up. ]]>

The extreme heat wave we are having in Adelaide at the moment reminds me of the last Xmas that I had with my Dad, before he passed away. I was 11 years old and we had always celebrated Xmas at home with all the family coming to us for lunch; but I still remember that year Xmas was in the middle of a similar heat wave and we had no air-conditioning in our house (not sure how we survived the heat back then, actually). But luckily my older, married sister (17 years older, and my only sibling; so suffice to say I was ‘surprise’ baby!) was renting an air-conditioned house down our street; and I still vividly remember the family procession marching down the street, all carrying the various plates of Xmas lunch that my Mum had spent the morning cooking, so that we could enjoy our family Xmas celebration in the cool (only because my dad refused to get into a hot car to drive our prized feast such a short distance). It was such a memorable day that we had an air conditioner installed before the end of that summer! 🙂 ]]>

I would love to win the UHF radios or the Mox. We are going camping in Jan with family and the radios would be handy for keeping in touch when 4wding. I need another pair of Mox so that people don’t realise I’m always wearing the same pair of shoes! ]]>
