We all know how vital it is to get our moles checked regularly and yet many of us constantly put it off. Why? There could be a lot of reasons; fear, too busy, don’t think it will happen to them, etc. But regardless whether you have one mole or a hundred, they need to be checked at least once a month by you and at minimum once a year by your doctor.

I recently went and had two moles checked over by my doctor. I had noticed slight changes in them over time and thought I’d make sure they were ok. One was fine, the other not so much. The idea of someone cutting into my face scars the absolute bejesus out of me but I would prefer that than not be around to see my children grow up just because I was scared.

I never have to be honest, now I live in a hotter climate I should probably get them checked out its important to catch these things early and also for peace of mind too.
I have some post pregnancy moles that wasn’t there before, only checked with Dr Google (which is pretty slack). I should get them checked asap, it is important because my young children still need me alive and well.
Early Detection helps. anything that helps with early detection is great.

I never have had any checked though I probably should as I’m from a Danish background and have fair skin. Very important in Australia due to harsh sun and high UV ratings outside summer or winter.

I get mine checked once a year, I have plenty of moles on me and my family have been known to have had melanomas cut out.
It’s extremely important to me to have them checked as I would love to be around still to see my sons graduate, get married, nurse their children and any other important milestones in their lives.

I amabout to go an have them checked today, I find it hard because I am covered in moles and freckles the gp always ask to identify which moles you are concerned about. I am afraid of the ones I don’t see or think are an issue, it is so important to me becuae I want to be here for my kids and don’t want to get my face, hands and legs gouged to remove advanced moles. In the last two years and know first hand the importance as my mum is living proof of the destruction the sun has on skin and irrepairable damage.
I’m very fair and luckily have only a few moles. I keep an eye on them but have never officially had them checked. Something we should all consider in this great southern land of hot and dry climate.

You could join the dots on little scars on me, I have always had very “dramatic” moles since I was a child.
And my mother would get everyone of them cut out.
As an adult my last one removed was three years ago.
I now have two on my back that are worrying..
My son who is only 6 has already a huge mole on his back, and one on top of each year. Do i start traumatising him as my mother did to me,.???
I always check my skin but I’m not exactly sure what to look for so this could really be a life saver. I have fair skin and everyone in my family has had skin cancer so it is a massive concern.

I had a nasty looking mole on my arm that seemed to be getting darker about 3 years ago. Had it tested and it was nothing.
I had them checked about 2 months ago when I noticed a suspicious mole which was fine – but need to go back to get my back moles checked

My husband has lots of moles and fair skin, as do my children. It’s important to be checked regularly and carefully, particularly when you live in Qld. I’ll be sending my entire family to be checked again soon. Very important!
I have to keep on top of my freckles and have had a few removed to date!

I have a Caspar-Like complexion, but mainly just have freckles,
I’ve always been fairly vigilant with sunscreen & hats, following ‘sun smart’ advice,
But wouldn’t be human without an accidental sunburn or two to add speckles,

When I was pregnant about 18 months ago because my moles and freckles changed colour. I knew this was possibly just a side effect of pregnancy but you can never be too safe

I have lost a few friends from melanoma – so I believe it is important to have a yearly check.
I have mine checked every 6 months as i have a lot of moles and as i have young children i want to be around to see them grow up so it is so important i do this.

I actually had one mole checked only a couple of weeks ago. I have so many people in my family who have either had full on melanoma or had cancerous moles removed that I firmly believe it’s essential to get anything suspicious checked quickly. No GP will think you are wasting their time!

Ive not got any moles luckily but I used to be not very careful in the sun when I was younger so im always on the lookout for suspicious anything on my skin!
I had a melanoma removed from my back (not sun related) when I was 12. All Ok but I like to keep an eye on my moles and keep checking my children’s skin too.
I’d been thinking about it for ages because I had a few spots I was worried about and finally got there last year!
Two years ago by a doctor, luckily I don’t have any large moles to greatly worry about.
I only have one mole, and it’s in quite a modest area so it gets no sun. But indeed, we’d all be a SHADE better if people got their moles checked!
Having them checked is very important but I only ever get them checked when I am concerned which I know could be too late
Goodness, I have never had mine checked but reading this has prompted me to put it on the list for my next gp check-up! I think it’s hugely important given the prevalence of skin cancer in our country and the huge difference in prognosis depending on when it is caught… Thanks for the good scare and the chance to win!!!!
