ABC Kids DVD Giveaway

October has seen some great DVD releases for kids from ABC. We have been enjoying two shows in particular; The Furchester Hotel and Boj: Boj & The Booms.

What are they about?

The Furchester Hotel

The Furchester Hotel is a series for 3-6 year olds set in an ‘almost’ world-class hotel run by a close-knit family of cheerfully chaotic monsters. (My daughter likes to refer to them all as Elmo or monkeys). The series, which is designed to encourage creative problem-solving, introduces brand new characters and also welcomes the beloved Elmo and Cookie Monster from Sesame Street.

As guests arrive at the hotel, they are greeted by monster owner Funella Furchester, her loving husband, Furgus Fuzz, and their daughter, the unflappable Phoebe Furcheste-Fuzz. Elmo, Phoebe’s cousin and Cookie Monster join the Furchester family at the hotel. Completing the ensemble is Isabel, a furry bell monster – guests won’t get any attention until she dings to announce their arrival!

Boj: Boj & The Booms

When Boj the bilby pops up in Giggly Park to play with his new buddies he brings all his fun Boj-ey ways with him! Boj loves to help his friends and neighbours with brilliant Boj-a-boom ideas to make stuff from other stuff. In the title episodes, Boj and his buddies form a pop band. When Rupa and Mia walk out due to musical differences Boj needs a Boj-a-boom idea for something they can all play together.

ABC Kids have something to suit every child and their interest. For my daughter, it is The Wiggles, Emma. My boys never had an interest in The Wiggles at all so it has taken me time to get my head around hearing their songs played regularly around the house.

Emma, the yellow Wiggle is by far her favourite. Poppet loves how she dances, sings, has gorgeous outfits and there are bows a plenty. Emma has become extremely popular among little girls; which is great that she now has her own DVD being released September 2^nd 2015, The Wiggles: Emma! B2 loved Giggle and Hoot more than anything else (well Chuggington was a close second) and besides a few extra characters joining the Giggle and Hoot team, it is exactly the same. Full of great energy and love.

ABC Kids is home to many well-loved children shows. Since having kids, I have been exposed to some crazy, whacky and downright fun episodes from varying shows. Shaun The Sheep is one of those that my children loved from a young age.

There comes a time when children need to take a break from the busy lives they live and enjoy some time out on the couch watching their favourite movies. Most recently my daughter (who has just turned two) has discovered she doesn’t quite mind sitting and enjoying half an hour of TV here and there, which has been a welcomed addition to her brothers. Thanks to ABC Kids I can now enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a few minutes to myself.

Poppet has been loving The Wiggles: Anthony’s Fruity Feast. The latest Wiggles movie to hit the shelves, released on 3^rd June 2015. With 12 episodes on this 140 minute long DVD, she is happy to watch a couple at a time before moving onto other activities. RRP $19.95.

From the acclaimed TV program Ready, Steady, Wiggle! Series 2, Anthony has selected twelve of the tastiest favourites from ‘Cowboy Anthony’ to ‘Captain’s Magic Buttons’! They’re served up fresh with over 40 songs and a delightful dessert of wiggly bloopers and a photo gallery.

Absolutely loving trains at the moment, Poppet has also taken a great interest in Thomas the Tank. So naturally she was thrilled when Thomas and Friends: Trouble On The Tracks started to play on the DVD player for her. Also released on June 3^rd 2015 this 81 minute DVD features 7 episodes. Cinders and ashes…there’s trouble on the tracks for Thomas and his friends. The Troublesome Trucks delight in causing chaos for Thomas, as Annie, Clarabel and Toad encounter unexpected high-speed adventures.

Octonauts is a household favourite here. The boys loved it and now their love has also been passed to their little sister. What is not to love in the new Octonauts DVD though? Octonauts: Great Artic Adventure is full of exciting new journeys and missions. Released on June 3^rd 2015 this 82 minute DVD features 6 fantastic episodes. RRP $19.95.
