5 Appliances You Need In Your Life

There is no denying that modern appliances in our home make life so much easier. From doing simple daily chores to cooking up a storm in the kitchen and hosting a dinner party for friends and family, the job cannot be complete without a little help from technology and our trusty appliances.

Here are five appliances that you must have in your life. Do you have them all?

Washing Machine

Can you imagine how long it would take to wash, scrub and dry each piece of clothing you and your family wears? A good washing machine is a must for every busy household, so invest in a quality appliance that can stand the test of time. Specialist brands such as ASKO have a wide range of washing machines to suit every living space, and you can be assured that every machine is made to the highest standards of durability, sustainability and functionality.

Dishwasher

While it might seem easy enough to save money on an expensive dishwasher and instead wash dishes by hand, you’ll no doubt regret the decision in weeks, if not days. A busy weekday schedule means you have little time for household chores and cleaning during the working week, so you’ll appreciate the time and energy saved by having a dishwasher. Simply rinse and load plates, cutlery, glasses and cooking equipment into the dishwasher after using them, and turn it on overnight – it’ll feel like the cleaning fairies really do exist.

Food Processor

A food processor is one kitchen appliance you don’t realise how often you use until you don’t have one. Whether you use it to make fresh juices and smoothies in the morning, or to make your own sauces, spreads and sweet treats, a food processor (or strong blender) is a handy appliance that you simply cannot live without.

Slow Cooker

Do you find yourself getting home late from work and dreading the thought of preparing a healthy, nutritious meal that the whole family will enjoy? Then you need to start experimenting with a slow cooker. Chop up and load all of your ingredients and spices into the pot in the morning and switch it on as you run out the door. You’ll come home to a delicious home-cooked meal and you’ll likely have leftovers for lunch the next day. They aren’t just a godsend for savoury dishes, either – you can create a whole heap of tasty desserts in these versatile life-savers.

Coffee Machine

Instead of visiting a local café every morning for your caffeine hit, invest in a good quality coffee machine for your kitchen and learn how to make a perfect cup at home. Although the investment at the start is high, over time you will save a lot of money and find you can make the perfect café coffee from the comfort of your own home. Not to mention you can whip up a great cuppa at the drop of a hat whenever you have visitors! You can’t lose when you have your own machine.

A good kitchen renovation will revolutionise your everyday life. It’s important to do plenty of research before you begin. Explore your options. There are so many different styles and features available, you can check out some kitchen ideas at this website and also by visiting kitchen manufacturers and cabinet makers. You will usually be able to have a firsthand look at different types of cupboards, bench surfaces, splash backs and more. Take your time, ask lots of question and talk to people who have successfully renovated their kitchen.

There are several things you need to consider before you begin renovating your kitchen. Here are five.

What Do You Want From Your Kitchen

This might sound like a really obvious point, but you would be surprised how many people set about renovating their kitchen without having a firm idea of exactly what they want to achieve. Think about why it is that you want to renovate your kitchen. Is it because you don’t have enough bench space? Are you short on places to put everything? Do you find the colour of your kitchen depressing? Do you want your kitchen to be more compact so everything is within easy reach? Or are you just looking for a cosmetic facelift?

When you are very clear about what you don’t like about your current kitchen, you will have a much clearer idea of what you want from your renovations. You will then be able to create a renovation plan and a budget.

Visualise It

Collect samples of materials and colours and try to visualise them in your kitchen. You can get samples of floor coverings, paint colours, tiles and bench and cupboard surfaces. Bring them home and place them in your kitchen. Spend time visualising these colours in your kitchen and make sure you are happy with your choices before you buy.

The Budget

The next serious consideration is your budget. Now that you have a good idea of what you want from your renovations, you need to set about getting pricing. Always get more than one quote and remember that the cheapest is not always the best. Make sure you get your quotes in writing and ensure the price is firm. Price blowouts are common in kitchen renovations, so beware.

The Layout

The layout of your kitchen is a very important consideration. While many renovators get carried away choosing the latest bench tops, they sometimes forget about design. A good kitchen renovation will utilise the space available and make sure your kitchen is highly functional and convenient to use. You need to ensure that there is enough open space for you to move about and work freely in your kitchen. Appliances, like the stove and refrigerator, should be within easy reach.

Appliances

Before you begin your kitchen renovation you should decide upon what type and size of appliances you want. Choosing the best appliance for your needs is an important decision. You may stick with your existing appliances or may take the opportunity to upgrade.

How do you add some spice or freshen up your kitchen without spending a fortune? Accessories!! Or more commonly known as utensils, ‘white’ goods. My kitchen was looking rather bland and boring with everything being black, white and stainless so I popped down to my local Betta Home Living  store and browsed each isle in search of the perfect colourful product. I had no idea what I was looking for but was presented with more than enough options! When stepping foot into one of these kind of stores the staff in my experience usually act one of two ways; rude and completely ignore you or they hover, hassle and are pushy. I was pleasantly surprised walking into my local store to find that they were welcoming, polite and the right amount of customer interaction. They had the balance right.

Where to start?

After the initial ‘Is there anything I can help you with or something in particular you’re looking for?’ James (the staff member who assisted me) let me browse in peace without making me feel smothered. He approached me again a little while later when I was standing in front of the same items for while with a ‘oh my goodness these are gorgeous, I must have them look on my face’. Unfortunately they didn’t have the colour I wanted due to the products themselves being ridiculously popular. I could have waited however and got them to order the colour in or just waited until I got home and purchased from their online store with free delivery but I’m not really one for waiting for things if I can pick up something similar right then and there. So I left with blue. The last blue I might add.

That blue one will be mine!!

I walked out of the store feeling happy and pleased with my purchase which isn’t usually the case when I go shopping at other electrical/home goods stores. I love that even though I didn’t spend a million dollars or even know what I was looking for when I walked in I was treated like I was valued. I was worth a few minutes of their time and in return for their great customer service they will see me returning next time I need something for my home. Great customer service isn’t seen often enough these days so when it is you take notice. Thanks so much James for your kindness and I absolutely love my new retro Delonghi Kettle and Toaster. As I said earlier simple colourful ‘accessories’ are a cheap way to spruce up any kitchen!
