Last Friday I posted about a segment or more so theme of post that I will be doing regularly. I was planning on it being about how to save money and don’t worry it still will be but I thought I would also add in ‘Did you know’ which will ultimately save you money as well.
*Instead of buying expensive stainless steel polish try a mix of denture cleaner and water.
*We all have socks that no longer have a match. Don’t throw these out – use them as dusters for blinds, window sills, skirting, etc.

If you add a raisin/sultana to flat champagne or sparkling wine the natural sugars released restore the bubbles!

Now as you all know from Mondays post I am a mum of boys so the amount of pretty pink stuff and girly items is fairly limited in our home and is generally only what belongs to me. I have however received a gorgeous girls’ outfit to review and lucky for me I have a good friend with the perfect girl for the job.
This outfit in one word is delightful! The tiny details in this outfit have made it a must have for any little girls wardrobe. (I also think it would be very easily converted to a summer dress by altering the sleeves to suit) This outfit is a dress, jacket and removable flower broach. Would you believe that these sell for only $18?
I know it is unbelievable!
Forget what they say about ‘if it is too good to be true’ because the excellence of these outfits are second to none.

]]>Italian Beef Pasta Recipe.
This delicious Italian beef pasta recipe recipe is great for kids, families and the budget! Oh yeah and it is so quick and easy too which is an added bonus.
Italian Beef Pasta Recipe
Ingredients
500g beef mince
1 onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 tsp curry powder
1.5 tbs mixed herbs
1/3 cup mixed vegetables
1 tin tomato soup
250g pasta (whichever you prefer)
Method
1. Brown the mince in large saucepan. Add in the rest of the ingredients (except the pasta).
2. Simmer gently until mince and vegetables are cooked through.
3. While the mince is cooking, cook the pasta until just cooked. Drain.
4. Serve mince mix over pasta.
You can add some cheese to finish it off or eat as it is.

When my boys were babies I fell in love with Plum Baby. Plum Baby are now also proud supporters of the SIDS and Kids National Safe Sleeping Program and have released comfortable, durable, easy to use (they have a very convenient zip, perfect to avoid having to wake the baby when changing or checking nappies!) and most importantly safe sleeping bags. These pyjamas have not disappointed me, my family or thankfully my bank balance. My son has described them (repeatedly I might add) as super soft. He LOVES them! I am also happy they are soft and comfortable but I’m more pleased that they haven’t faded through washing and have held their shape well. (No shrinkage, YAY!) I must say though that being Plum I have come to expect nothing but the best and they haven’t failed me yet.
The Plum J’s are my favourite addition and I am so excited they have extended their range to accommodate growing kids. These gorgeous pyjamas are now available in sizes 0-7 and retail for only $24.95.

]]>This Tomato, Bacon and Basil Soup recipe is so quick and easy to make. Best of all it tastes delicious while being extremely budget friendly!
Let me just say that my youngest loathes tomato and I mean to the point of he will find/taste the tiniest piece hiding and pull/spit it out. He loved this soup!!
*It can be made with canned tomato (whole peeled, crushed, pureed, etc) or fresh peeled tomato. Both taste as good as each other!
Tomato, Bacon and Basil Soup Recipe with Garlic Ciabatta
Serves 6
Ingredients
*3x 400g canned tomato or 2kg fresh peeled tomato
1x onion roughly chopped
4x bacon rashers roughly chopped
1x tsp garlic
2x tsp Gourmet Gardens basil
1-1.5x cups of water
1x tsp sugar (prevents the tomato going bitter)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Ciabatta: butter, garlic, ciabatta bread
Method
1. Roughly chop bacon and garlic and fry.
2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees (for ciabatta).
3. Add garlic and basil, stir through. C
4. Cook off until the aroma is strong.
5. Add tomato and heat on low-medium. Stirring.
6. Add sugar and season to taste.
7. Let simmer on low for 10 mins.
8. Mix garlic and butter and spread onto ciabatta bread.
9. Place in oven, turn once when required.
10.Blend ingredients.
11.Serve with delicious ciabatta.
**This can be made creamy by adding approx. ¼ cup of cream during the simmer stage.
