]]>Today marks 5 years of marriage and 5th wedding anniversary for Mr C and myself. 5 whole years. We have actually been together for 12 years; I was 15 when we first decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend and it feels like a lifetime ago. (That makes me 27 years old now for those who are currently doing the maths.) I say it feels like a lifetime ago because so much has happened in those 12 years. We have moved nine times including an interstate move where we knew absolutely no one, had 3 feral beautiful children (still have them somewhere actually), we built a house and somewhere along the way we got married.

Today we are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary in style, the exact same way we have for the past 3 (maybe even 4) years. I will be at home with the kids and he will be at work. Doesn’t get much more romantic than that. To me it isn’t overly important to make a huge deal and go out for a lavish dinner on this one day as we always make time for one another, enjoy coffee dates a few times a week and show affection daily. We hold hands when we walk, we hug just because we want to, we never leave one another without a kiss and telling the other we love them. As a couple we have come together in the hard times and relished in the good, we have tolerated and grown to accept each annoying trait, learnt to love that flaw that makes them unique and appreciate how lucky we really are to have one another.

Mr C is caring, thoughtful and would go to the end of the world for me. He can be grouchy and a complete pain in the arse but he gives as good as he gets. He loves me completely, all of me and I, all of him. One of my absolute favourite things about Mr C is that he looks at me with lust, still after all these years. After having 3 kids and my body changing completely. He loves all of me. I am incredibly lucky to have him as my husband and this is the reason why going out for dinner on this one particular day isn’t important. We have everyday to love each other.

I love you more than you will ever know.

]]>So it turns out that I may have needed a break from blogging and technology. When I planned on enjoying a few days with my family over Christmas without blogging I didn’t intend on it being an extended to 10 days! Can you believe it – 10 whole days, ok almost 10 days. This is such a surprise because I don’t think I have been missing in action for this long since Mad Mummas began last year. So much has happened this year for our family and I am pleased to majority has been positive.
We moved into our newly built family home (after much stress of the building process and delays).

We welcomed our daughter; child number 3 to our to our family.

We also welcomed a puppy to the family not long after.

The boys discovered brotherly love; or more so how brothers fight.

Mad Dad and I enjoyed our 4th year of marriage (11 years together)

Babies first Christmas means the big responsibility of putting the star on the tree.

Santa came to 3 very happy children!

I cannot wait to see what opportunities 2014 brings us! I hope you have had a wonderful 2013 and an even better 2014.
Thank you for your support this year and I hope to bring you so much more in the coming 12 months.
What was the highlight/s of your year?

]]>We started seeing each other 10 years ago when I was just 15 (yes, that makes me 25)!! I am absolutely stunned sometimes that we have lasted, grown together and matured together. I think that is the beauty when you meet someone special when you’re so young is no one including you has very high expectations (if any) that it will last. Well SURPRISE!! 10 years, 2 children and 1 marriage later here we are still together.
We are very happy and as much in love as were many years ago. We are still infatuated with one another like we are teenagers in the exciting ‘I want to know every inch of you’ stage. Yes we have the occasional disagreement like every other couple in the world. We get frustrated with one another and don’t always see eye to eye but we love each other for it.

I am not sure how I am supposed to feel about my grandad Ks death. Am I confused, should I feel more sad or upset? I think I may even have a sense of guilt. I haven’t seen grandad K since I was little and as my mum wasn’t close with him we weren’t either. This is where the guilt comes in, should I have made more of an effort to see him? Should he have found me? I’m 25 and I haven’t seen him since I was about 6-ish (I think).
But with this guilt also comes the memory of this man who was not the most moral and stable person and so I question myself as to whether I should be feeling guilty. He was unpredictable and drank (a lot) but as I said I hadn’t seen him in so many years he could have turned his life around and I had no idea.
My emotions are torn and I don’t know how to feel. I know it’s too late to do anything differently and that I shouldn’t be thinking about what ifs but it’s is just one of those things, you can’t help but do it. How can one simply not question and take what happened with a grain of salt?

Have you ever had to endure a holiday from hell? Maybe it was the place or maybe it was the people.
