Keep Healthy With Winter Recharge Pack – GIVEAWAY

27/05/2015 By All Mum Said 127 Comments

I don’t know about you but in Winter I tend to get quite peckish and find I snack frequently throughout the day. Maybe this is where the saying ‘plump up for the Winter’ comes from because that is basically what I do. This year in particular it rings true for me, however I can give most of that credit to the baby bump.

When your appetite isn’t quite satisfied with a first snack, you reach for another which almost always leaves you regretting the choice of food you chose. Possibly even leaving you feeling guilty by the amount of sugar or carbohydrates you just consumed. Thankfully Yoplait has launched a new yoghurt just in time for Winter.

It is a super thick natural Greek yoghurt with a layer of real fruit at the bottom. The new yoghurt is called Bon Appetit. There is no longer a reason to feel guilty for eating something delicious because it is packed full of nutrients and protein that are designed to keep us feeling fuller for longer.

The amazing team at Yoplait want to make sure everyone looks after themselves this Winter. Not only through food but fitness and keeping your minds sharp as well. This is why they have offered All Mum Said readers an amazing giveaway full of incredible products to benefit your health. I struggle with keeping my energy up, I drink more hot drinks to keep warm rather than warm healthy food. I love hot cuppa soups and I know they are not nutricious but I love them.

The struggle I face every winter since I can remember is having to deal with chilblains.
As soon as the weather begins to cool, my toes swell and redden, and itch like mad!
It’s awful. I have tried various creams, vitamins etc, which help temporarily until another flare up and I exercise to increase circulation too, but every year they return!

I find it so tempting to stand under a long, hot shower when it’s cold outside, but I know I need to try and resist the urge. The hot water compromises your skin’s lipid layer that holds in precious moisture. So it’s better to turn down the heat or shorten your shower time, and moisturise straight after the shower while your skin is still damp, using a cream that creates a barrier to stop moisture from evaporating. Sounds good in theory anyway!

I struggle with the flu…it’s no accident that flu rhymes with boo hoo!
I always seem to end up chest infections that cause me dejection,
and upon closer inspection, have turned out to be pneumonia some years,
    which had me in tears….
so this year I hope with good food and some stealth,

I take vitamin D with the safe limit being 4000IU a day because low vitamin D can not only lead to many issues in later life, especially in women, but it can cause short term issues such as lethargy because we have less sun in winter and go outside less too. By consuming dairy products such as Yoplait yoghurt you can increase your vitamin D uptake, consuming yoghurt also keeps your bones and teeth strong, which again is very vital for women. Yoplait yoghurt is also a great snack because it contains fat and protein which is important for muscle repair, hair, skin and maintaining energy throughout the day.

When my hands and feet are frozen, but the rest of me is snug,
and in winter it’s so tempting to remain a comfy warm bed-bug,
PJs want to stay on, and hot showers can never seem too long,
I’d rather burrow with a good book, to leave the house seems all wrong,
With chronic pain, winter is harsh on my joints,
but still, I must admit it does have some good points,
My Kitty likes to cuddle more which is really quite sweet,
Especially when she chooses to warm up my feet,
Doonas can come out again, and comfort food is just the thing,
to warm the cockles of my heart & make me want to sing,

My motivation to exercise and even just to leave the house is so low. I prefer to cuddle up in a blanket and watch TV all day. I struggle with eating healthily over Winter time, but this Winter I am on a mission to eat more healthy organic foods, cut out junk food and continue a regular exercise routine. For the sake of my health and for my family I think it’s important to persevere over winter, even though a box of chocolates and packet of chips seems needed! And I struggle with being inside too much over winter with the kids because it’s always too cold to be bothered to get dressed up and go anywhere!

Keeping my children school uniform supply up as little drying space within the home, little sun and little hope of my husband being understanding enough that a dryer really can be used in the case of emergencies.

Definitely with making the wrong food choices…it’s too cold to prepare sandwiches or salads, so I tend to reach for warm, comforting foods. This winter I’m ready to take control of my health and make the right choices :)

During winter I really struggle with motivation. Motivation to eat healthier, to do more exercise, even just finding the motivation to go outside and do anything is hard in winter. So that’s what I’m working on this year – finding ways to motivate myself to be the best version of me I can be.

You’d think that with it being darker and cooler on winter mornings that toddlers would sleep in later… not mine, he wakes 1-2 hours earlier than usual. I don’t always hear him or I struggle to wake up when I do… he’s usually accomplished something mischievous by the time I get up. Yesterday he used a bright red stamper to decorate the walls, this morning he used his water bottle to fill the the puzzle board in… who knows what tomorrow will bring…

I struggle to understand people who like winter. It seems to me that what they like are the things that help them avoid the cold (like doonas, fireplaces and soup). Wouldn’t it be better if it were just not cold in the first place?

    Hi!
I don’t have a long winded speech about my winter struggles! We can all relate to the carb cravings, the difficulties associated with leaving the bed and that dreaded layer of (dare I call it) “insulation”!
I’m a girl – of course I crave that thick cut fruit toast, and can’t quite make it to the gym, and no my winter-woollies are never quite thick enough, rendering me cold to my bones for 3 months.
And yet… I hope we can all relate to that strange comfort that only a freezing night, a cuppa tea and Bridget Jones’ Diary can provide.

Layers!!!! There is so much more involved in co-ordinating multiple layers of clothing, and you’ll be freezing when you’re outside and then sweltering when you make it inside. Winter for me is constant wardrobe juggling, layer-shedding and re-layering!

Oops! I just realised I was meant to answer, “What do you struggle with most during Winter?”
I struggle with the urge to cocoon myself in blankets in front of the TV (and heater), drink hot chocolate and veg out each and every night. My latest breakthrough has been getting a small exercise bike and doing 10,000 revolutions a night. It keeps me warm and fit!

I stuggle with exercising during winter as it’s so cold. Brr the thought of the cold air against my face, freezing fingers and toes, blowing smoke in the air, my warm bed beckoning me to stay, eating comfort food instead, I have come to the conclusion that I pretty much turn into a hibernated hedgehog and stay in the warm, not venturing outside to exercise unless I have to. Until spring comes forth and then I wake from my slothful state and get myself going again. Thanks for the chance.
