When you hit the shops for back to school everything is the same old. It all looks the same as it did last year with minor variances and no kid wants to have the exact same gear as half the kids in their class.
Smiggle have once again changed things up and offered some cool back to school stuff! From books and bags to cutlery and drink bottles, the bright colours and patterns draw the eye and say how cool am I?! The Smiggle school bags are fantastic quality; my 6 year old had one last year and it lasted all year and still looks in near new condition! I was surprised as usually the boys backpacks last 6 months if we are lucky before we need to replace them. The Smiggle ones are definitely worth the money!
Then you of course have accessories, Smiggle pencil cases and holiday fun to look forward to. The latest release of pencil cases and accessories are funky and certain to have your kids start the year with a grin from ear to ear!
Good news for parents that we have got some to give to a lucky parent for their children.
Prize includes: 1 x Spinning Top Marker $3.50 (pink), 1 x Pocket Smiggle Pencil Case (purple), 1 x Open Wide Media Pouch $15.95 (purple), 1 x Pocket Calculator $12.95 (purple).

Niece answer: getting to see her friends again and catch up with everyone
My kids love being at school, they find it boring to be on holidays and are so glad to go back so they can catch up with friends, have after school activities, learn new things and sports go back after holidays, I enjoy it when they go back because i have time to study in quiet at home, have a coffee with friends, go shopping without the “can i have” every 5 seconds but mostly without hearing whining all day “Were bored” and when i find something for them to do craft, visiting friends, outdoor activities, cooking i hear “this is boring” “there’s nothing to do” i sometimes wonder how we made it without any electronic games, phones, ipads, game consoles etc when we had to make our own fun
Our Grandson we are Caers for is starting school ,I’d love to,use these with him when learning. Also,I really want them for my colouring in book .
The quiet! That first day they go back, I just sit enjoying a cuppa and read as its soooo quiet and noone is at me with “mum, mum…”.
for me its the peace and quiet…. my kids love being back, back with the friends and using their brain again
My kids favourite thing about going back to school is seeing their friends again!
Making school lunches 🙂
Home made lunches!!! My wife gets back into back to school mode and makes me lunch every day too, along with the kids 😉 So much nicer than the rubbish I’ve been buying while the kids have been off.
Structure and routine, I thrive on it…..the kids not so much, but I flourish with set times and designated hours for anything and everything. Yes I am a creature of habit, and a highly organised one at that.
The peace & quiet of kids fighting & nagging what’s to eat im hungry
The routine’s back
And the boredom ends
The house is quiet
While they’re back with their friends!
My favourite thing is walking my daughter to and from school again… I just love the 20 mins we get together as we walk to her school together, and love seeing her friends come up and say hi and seeing how happy she is to be back at school.
Shopping for the kids new backpacks and school stuff, it gets the kids excited about returning back to school and my 5 year old who starts full time this year is so proud of being a big boy soon!
When they come home from school full of excitement to tell me something special that happened…
The drive home the morning of the first day back- I just about do cartwheels! Yes!
There’s less people wandering around the shopping centre!
I like the peace obviously but time to catch up with me time and follow my fave websites, All mum said and Smiggle!
I love that my little man is excited about seeing his friends again, and that I get to spend some one-on-one time with my girls before they too grow up and start school too!
Routine. finally I have a little control over my house and the mess that is created
Knowing I can come home from work and the house wont be trashed (like it is in the school holidays). Although I will miss having lasagna cooked for me!!
An empty house and silence!!
Labelling. Yes, I know I’m a freak and there is something seriously wrong with me. There is just something so exciting about putting those little stickers on everything, and I LOVE covering books. I remember taking the job over from my Mum in primary school as she put too many bubbles in the contact!
My favourite is getting the kids out of the house! After 3 weeks of “what are we doing today” and “I’m bored”. I know that I am doing NOTHING today and I will not be BORED!
Baking treats for the kids to look forward to when finishing school
From my son: I’m in Grade 3 and looking forward to seeing my friends again!
Me: Peace and quiet and less arguments!
Did I mention peace and quiet?
My favourite thing is having the house back to myself. Being able to do errands and tasks through-out the day and not being hassled by screaming children. I miss being able to read a book or have a bath. I have forgotten what that feels like 😛
The kids only going through one outfit a day! My washing pile becomes much much smaller!
For me its getting to sit down and have a culpa, with out “Mum Mum Mum” before i get my first sip! For them its being back seeing their friends and playing sports again!
Holidays flew by too fast, back to reality and back to class! My minitures are happy to reunite with friends, hit the canteen for a treat and see mum at days end! That may be where there school love stops….lol.
Miss 8 said the best thing is getting to see her friends and having lunch orders
I say getting to enjoy a nice hot coffee and a biscuit in the quiet while reading a book!
Having happy children who love to learn and play with great friends
I love stationery shopping. So many cute, quirky & individualised products the kids can choose from. I actually find it fun. Of course I also enjoy catching up on sleep once they’ve gone back too
Getting back into a routine! Over the holidays things tend to get a bit crazy so it’s nice to be back into a structured setting. The kids love helping out with cooking their lunch box treats, so this is something we do together.
I love the end of the day chat. The kids love school and teachers and friends and even the 40k bus ride to get there. They are so excited to tell us all about their day full of treehouse book reading and skeleton dances. It just makes you smile to see them brimming with excitement.
The tranquillity descends on the house and I have real “me time” – selfish perhaps, but necessary.
Getting back into a routine again which is great for all of us.
Stationery shopping is my favourite part!
Being able to go and sit in a coffee shop or restaurant on my own and enjoy some peace and quiet 🙂
I’m the Master of routine,
I love the house to be clean,
BUT I love the kids around,
Even with rain and we’re housebound,
So my standards do so drop,
They drop and drop, and do not stop!!!
School starting does then mean
My first few days are just to clean,
To vacuum, mop and of course, dust,
Oh and the bathrooms are a must!
Then…. the one thing I love the most,
And I swear, I’m not trying to boast,
I love their afternoon faces,
Big smiles and warm embraces,
They missed me so darn much!!!
Then to a clean home and me…”Do not touch!!!!!’
Fantastic prize. Great incentive and motivation to get back to school
I love the chats my daughter and I have at the end of each school day.
Getting the house back to myself!
Being able to have some me time
All the cool new stationary, the fresh scents and catching up with friends after so long and sharing what happened!
For me it is the reduction in arguing and (relative) peace this brings! I say relative because I still have 3 younger children under school age and another I am homeschooling starting this year for medical reasons- it never seems to end some days lol.
Catching up with all the other mums
I honestly cant think of anything good about the kids returning to school….I love having them home with me 🙂
Stationary!! I love it all! Especially pencil cases and notepads 🙂 I’ve now passed it onto my daughter haha 🙂
Watching them grow, every new year is a grade higher a year older and im blessed I get to watch and live this.
The best thing about the kids returning to school is I get to have the TV, Pantry and ipad all to myself!
My favourite thing is how fresh and new everything is when starting school!
6 weeks ago, their end of year school ‘everything’ was landfill worthy only!
1st day back means new shoes, uniforms, stationary etc and most importantly renewed enthusiasm for school 🙂
The kids getting back into some form of routine.. This also applies to myself.
the kids get a real buzz walking into a smuggle shop to buy all there back to school stuff. that’s what they love about back to school “smuggle”
ops I ment smiggle not smuggle ( spell check sorry)
The kids growing with their learning,
And the “me” time that I have been yearning!
Although it’s only cleaning “me” time!
Nothing divine.
Making school lunches everyday…oh wait, I hate that! It would have to be seeing my little dude in a uniform, gets me every time! (and peace, my goodness, the 6 hours of PEACE!)
my daughter and son love smuggle ive spent hundreds on there products
Routine! Everyone gets back into routine and everything runs smoothly. In theory anyway!
Smiggles gives me the giggles.
I LOVE the smell of stationery,
my kids think I’m mad,
It reminds me of my childhood,
and for that I’m very glad.
I love a little me time,
when I can swim laps alone,
but chances are, this week,
I’ll be glued to my phone!
My first is starting college,
and the baby just beginning,
I’ll be that Mum bawling,
while the others are all grinning!
So stationery I’ll focus on,
to help get me through,
you’ll find me in a corner sniffing…
but I promise, not the glue! 😉
my favourite thing is taking the photo the morning of the first day..and comparing it to previous years..they grow so fast!
empty parks and quiet shops
