My boys love being in the kitchen with me and I think that they would love to have a play kitchen at home. I don’t want them to think ‘oh that’s pink, so it is for girls to play with’.

It’s a great way to keep little ones occupied in their own play cooking space when I am trying to fry or work with pastry at the same time. Much safer. Encourage the kids? I just need to say I cooking and they are in! But there must be tasting involved or they’re out!

I’ve seen some excellent play kitchens made out of old entertainment units too, some clever people out there. My daughter is interested in helping to make things and often bakes with her Grandma and Nanna (i leave the cakes to them) and asks to pour things in like rice or “chicken juice” (stock) when I’m cooking.

Yes a small kitchen does make it harder but every little bit makes a difference.

Yes I completely agree. It is a skill that can be introduced in a fun way but will ensure they are self-sufficient adults.
I am just about to pop over and link up with you 🙂

haha it’s funny when kids love cooking but their parents don’t. My mum hated cooking and I became a chef!

Yes they are. I was stoked when they opted to renew the trial campaign.

They spend so much time playing ‘mums and dads’, cooking, etc. Very cute!
