Forgive Me Hairdresser!
Forgive me hairdresser, it has been 6 months since my last cut and colour! My split ends are extreme and I look very similar to a skunk (only reversed). I am ashamed of how bad I have let this become and promise tomorrow I will rectify the damage I have caused.

I know that I am not alone when it comes to feeling the want, the desire, the need to refresh and change something! For so many this is simply accomplished by a change of hair colour, a cut, a facial, etc. I am no different! I love nothing more than going to the hairdresser with no idea what to get done and then leaving looking and feeling like a completely different person. I love the confidence a new cut and colour can instantly bring. I go from feeling tired, exhausted and boring to self-assured, sexy and ready to take on anything besides the rain or wind that may destroy my perfectly styled hair!
My problem (and I’m sure there will be so many others in the same boat) is that I don’t go nearly as often as I should or would like to for one reason or another. The main culprits are lack of time one week and no money the next but not this week!!

My appointment is made and I am going to get sexified and a bloody good head massage (which I should add never goes for long enough!) I have no idea what colour I’m going to get, I was thinking red but as I have blonde currently I’m not sure that’s a great idea – bring on pink says my 15 year old self! Not sure if I’ll get it cut short or keep some length and I tend not to really think about it too much. I like the surprise!
I am also wondering is it just me or are there other Mums out there who would just like the hairdressers to shut up occasionally? Don’t get me wrong, I love a little bit of chatter – how are the kids, what have you been up to, etc. But I personally love nothing more than enjoying my coffee in peace and quiet! It is really the only time I am away from everyone at home and don’t HAVE to speak. I enjoy some quiet!
Do you plan what cut/style and colour you are going to get before you arrive or do you wing it like me?
I haven’t had a cut for maybe over a year. Ooops. It’s harder for me though to find a private hairdresser. Theres not enough hairdressers that will have a private room for me to cut my hair so my hair goes without a cut for a while. I will have to get one soon though my hair is annoying me.
I didn’t even think of that, I would imagine it hard to find a private hairdresser. Are there many around? You have me very curious now
There are many hairdressers setting up mobile units, they will come to your home. Still trained professional hairdressers. Maybe this is suitable!
Oh Kel, know exactly what you mean! I never get to the hairdresser often enough, especially since having short hair so I always end up feeling like a shaggy dog by the time I get there. I have a fabulous hairdresser who doesn’t talk too much, gives fabulous head massages (but definitely not long enough!) and always knows what my vague references to shape & colour mean!! I hope you have a wonderful relaxing time getting sexified! Thanks for linking for #mondaysminutia xx
Thanks for having me! Bring on being sexified!! Thanks for commenting
Now if you had a cut like mine, you’d hardly be there long enough for the hairdresser to talk much! LOL!
We do our own colours here… but I like the pink! 😉
hahaha you crack me up carmen! Sometimes I just feel like politely telling them to just shut up for half an hour. lol. I miss the bright out there colours. Hmmm, maybe next time that is an option ;p
I’m landing from bloghop and cracking up at your post (no offense)
Always refreshing to read that other Mum’s have similar issues.
enjoy your time
When I was younger I didn’t like silence but now with so many kids I cherish it.
You can laugh at me today, I’m going to the hairdresser in 3 weeks for a new style as a date day with teen daughter.
Impatient me though, I put colour in my hair today set the clock and….phone rang. School nurse “child is unwell please pickup”.
Sighhhh, quick messy rinse of half baked colour and off I went. Such is the life of a Mum.
Thank you so much for joining me Jules. I was sure a lot of mums could relate and mine was just to the point of shame. hahaha. The life of a mum I guess ;p Thanks for stopping by
Don’t forget to follow me – I would love it!
I can totally relate! Each time I get my hair cut, they ask me if I would like to make an appointment for the next cut in 6 weeks time and I always say no! I usually leave it to about 6months before I get it done again. I also tend to home colour, but next time I might get a professional one and see if I can get the right colour!!! Thanks for sharing on my Meandering Monday Blog Hop:)
Everytime they ask if I want to make an appointment for 6 weeks time I laugh so hard. Who are they kidding? Do they think this damage happens in 6 weeks? hehehehe. Thanks for the linky and be sure to follow me
