GIVEAWAY! 5x The Secret Keeper – Kate Morton

27/10/2012 By All Mum Said 32 Comments

Thanks to Allen & Unwin I have been lucky enough to receive 5 proof copies of Kate Morton’s brand new book to giveaway to my fabulous readers. The Secret Keeper is set to be released in November and will not disappoint! It has been described as her best novel yet.

In true Kate Morton style The Secret Keeper is a must read, cannot put down novel with a captivating mystery of a long held secret to be uncovered at its heart.

Description as given by Allen & Unwin

1961: On a sweltering summer’s day, while her family picnics by the stream on their Suffolk farm, sixteen-year-old Laurel hides out in her childhood tree house dreaming of a boy called Billy, a move to London, and the bright future she can’t wait to seize. But before the idyllic afternoon is over, Laurel will have witnessed a shocking crime that changes everything.
2011: Now a much-loved actress, Laurel finds herself overwhelmed by shades of the past. Haunted by memories, and the mystery of what she saw that day, she returns to her family home and begins to piece together a secret history. A tale of three strangers from vastly different worlds – Dorothy, Vivien and Jimmy – who are brought together by chance in wartime London and whose lives become fiercely and fatefully entwined.
Shifting between the 1930s, the 1960s and the present, The Secret Keeperis a spellbinding story of mysteries and secrets, theatre and thievery, murder and enduring love.

Well, after being pressured into reading the 50 Shades trilogy, I have lost faith in books. This coming from an avid bookworm. I need my faith restored, and need the hope that yes, great authors do still exist..

I would love to read this new Kate Morton! I read all of her books while breastfeeding my baby so, as an author, I associate her with wonderful memories. I have checked my library and there are more than 50 reserves already on this book so I’d love to own my own copy! Thank you!

My Library doesn’t have 50 reserves, but the hold list is quite high. I love a book with mystery and suspense all rolled up into one.

Sounds an enthralling book and one I would enjoy. I’d also love to pass it on for my late teenage daughters to read.

I’d love to win this book because my big secret is that sometimes when everyone else is out of the house, instead of catching up on the work I’ve said I’m doing, I run a nice full bubble bath and lounge in the tub with a good book! Shhh!
