Shloer A Good Time & GIVEAWAY! {Closed}

At the end of a long day I enjoy nothing more than a good glass of wine (maybe two) or even a vodka if the mood strikes me. However as you all know I have recently had a baby and as I’m breastfeeding having an alcoholic drink is not on the cards right now. I received a very welcomed email a couple of weeks ago about a new drink that has just arrived in Australia. Even though it is made from quality grapes like wine; it is non-alcoholic!

2013-07-08 15.46.44

I have been trying both the Shloer Red and the Shloer White sparkling grape juice and in my eyes there is a clear winner. I love the red! This may be because I am a lover of red wine or it could be that the fruity flavour won me over. I am not a big fan of the white grape juice; while it is very fresh and crisp I found the taste not sweet enough for my liking. It reminded me too much of white wine (I don’t like white wine either) but a friend of mine loved it. It all comes down to personal preference I think as she prefers white wine over red. I think this is a great alternative to alcohol for pregnant and breastfeeding women, the benefits don’t end at it tasting great either. They contain no preservatives, artificial colours, sweeteners or flavourings! You can purchase these Shloer red and white sparkling juices from Coles supermarkets and independent stores.

I also have an amazing giveaway for you wonderful loyal readers.

Im a Mum. Now I know that there are loads of Mum’s out there but Im Mum to MY kids…No one knows how demanding My kids can be. Are they more demanding then your kids? Probably not but as much as I love my kids there are times where I just wish there was a loving Dad that I could leave them with and I could head on out for some indulgence just for me. I not only want but seriously need some luxury please.

    19/07/2013 / 11:09 am

These days it seems I’m always economising and therefore compromising, buying cheaper brands, going out less, wearing clothes past their best, drinking cheap coffee. It would be wonderful to enjoy a little luxury with feeling guilty about the expense!

  11. Sarah T
    19/07/2013 / 11:54 am

With a fiancé who is a full time student and part time worker, and a 15 month old luxury seems like a lifetime ago. As much as I love my life a little but of luxury goes a long way.

  12. 19/07/2013 / 12:05 pm

Love the packaging and sounds absolutely amazing!!!! Pregnant now with my 2nd bubs and intending to breastfeed – this is the best thing ever!

  14. kerry santillo
    19/07/2013 / 12:31 pm

At the moment my luxury, having all boys in the house, is smelly socks, toilet cleaning :(, grotty finger marks, washing that could walk away on its own and hair shavings in the bathroom mixed with toothpaste splatters on the mirror!!!!! I need a little luxury and to lock myself in a room and pamper myself with these beauties. Then they can clean up after me!!!!

  15. Sandi Giles
    19/07/2013 / 1:41 pm

went 25 years without being with the only man I’ve ever loved, we met up again, more in love, what better way to say I love you Jason 🙂

If luxury means having a gourmet sandwich with fillings from Simon Johnson and a sparkling grape juice from Shloer, eating with both hands without a toddler pulling my leg and vying for my attention , then yes of course, I need that kind of luxury. Every single day, please. I am not greedy, I’ll happy with just 2 hours a day of luxury, at lunch time and dinner time. 🙂

    19/07/2013 / 3:22 pm

I work full time and with three kids this is my idea of weekend luxury – plus I don’t drink alcohol so this is perfect!

  18. E-von (Sewislife)
    19/07/2013 / 11:56 pm

Luxury sounds like a little bit of pleasure…and that is uncommon when you have 3 children under 6. My hubby knows how to enjoy life and asks me to do the same, but I forgotten some how along the way.

  19. Amanda Gorton
    20/07/2013 / 5:46 am

I feel like I’m the meat in the middle of a sandwich, trying hard to keep everyone happy, there’s little time to focus on me!

    20/07/2013 / 7:34 am

These sound like another drink that I love from wine grapes called Vignettes. So excited to try!

  21. 20/07/2013 / 10:27 am

The Holidays are over at last,
and while the kids had a blast,
    I feel all worn out,
and if I won a Hamper I would Shout !!!
Yeah, a Shloer and Simon Johnson gourmet hamper.
Now this is what I call a good ol’ aussie Pamper.

  22. theresa
    20/07/2013 / 5:32 pm

Luxury! Wouldn’t it be nice for a change…in my world luxury means not having to share my dark chocolates with Miss 4 who can smell it a mile away even if it means it is hidden away in a sealed container stashed up high! This gourmet hamper from Shloer and Simon Johnson means I could actually indulge without having the worry to share!

  23. Belinda
    20/07/2013 / 11:21 pm

Hubby and I are so in need of pampering, this would be perfect. The last two years have been really difficult, we moved to a new town when I was 32 weeks pregnant with our 4th child, who has since been diagnosed with a few medical issues, and is a very unsettled and grizzly little man. We are also having issues with our eldest son and are looking into possible diagnoses for him. Last year, both my Dad and hubby’s mother were diagnosed with cancer. My Dad had some rocky times but is now going really well but my MIL passed away last August, so her loss is still very raw for hubby, however his Dad has just become engaged and will be married barely 13 months after his wife passed away, so my hubby is having an extremely difficult time coming to terms with that, so even though I try very hard not to comfort eat, the luxurious hamper would be a great way to spoil to two of us and give us an opportunity to talk through everything going on in our lives.

  24. 21/07/2013 / 7:01 am

Because I (like you) have 3 kids and I’m sure you would agree any Mum with 3 is in need of a little luxury! My 16 month old is with me full time and always has been, and there is no sign of kindy entry in sight, so would be great for the opportunity to indulge a little hehe 🙂 Monique x

  25. 21/07/2013 / 11:50 am

I’m a foodie, always on the look out for new gourmet products to try!

We all need a little luxury in these busy lives of ours.
Especially us mothers who spend hours cleaning the house.
    We cook them tasty dinners.
Which they never vote as winners.
Always with a hug and a smile.
And knowing that their love makes it worth while.

    22/07/2013 / 1:20 pm

All my money goes to house savings,
Which is why i have luxury cravings..
Just a little indulgence will do
If only i had an hour or two

  28. Stacey Shailer
    22/07/2013 / 5:50 pm

    With a young family,
    you make your money stretch,
    need to buy the HomeBrand,
    you can’t afford the best.
    We need a little luxury,
    to keep our spirits high,
to help spice up our romance,
    until the morn is nigh.

    22/07/2013 / 11:17 pm

As a parent I think we all forget to take time out , even if its just 5 minutes. I would love to step back for a couple of hours and pamper myself, without words of why, how come, I dont want to and NO, hahahaha please 🙂

  31. Rachel Kriss-Newell
    23/07/2013 / 3:45 pm

LUXURY would mean escaping squabbling kids, daily spilt milk on the kitchen table, a toddler who loves to throw her bowl of food on the floor, family who can’t seem to put anything of theirs away without a personal invitation, kids that forget to flush the loo.

The Shloer and Simon Johnson Gourmet Hamper – this luxury almost seems beyond reach, in another realm of the universe. Oh, but wouldn’t it be nice!

  32. Lynda Kibblewhite
    23/07/2013 / 7:33 pm

My daughter is due to have her first child this week. She is going to try to breast feed so this would be a great wy for us all to wet the baby’s head together.

  33. 23/07/2013 / 8:49 pm

As a foodie I love trying new products! As a mum the idea of a hangover is so not worth considering!! These look amazing! 🙂

  34. Glenda Booth
    24/07/2013 / 11:33 am

I am rarely a drinker so these sound delicious and I would really enjoy them.

  35. Benjamin Travia
    24/07/2013 / 1:48 pm

Working from home may seem like a dream, but you miss out on quite a bit, like say human contact and conversation. Although I’d still be alone with this hamper, I’d be luxuriously alone.

  36. Jennifer B.
    24/07/2013 / 2:43 pm

A daily commuter, a sardine squeezed,
Trains leave me frazzled, I’m continuously displeased.
Luxury treats waiting at home and Shloer sparkling juice…
Would make every day delightful! Grumbling? NO EXCUSE!!!

  37. Pia
    24/07/2013 / 4:35 pm

  38. Angie Boylan
    24/07/2013 / 4:43 pm

In the middle of moving house, breaking my heart throwing things away. While emptying my pantry I’d love to know some luxurious items are on the way to fill it again in our new place! Something to look forward to after packing / unpacking all those boxes 🙂

  39. Lisa G
    24/07/2013 / 5:51 pm

Something fancy just for two – I’d share with hubby to celebrate anniversary 22.

  42. Soni
    25/07/2013 / 12:20 pm

I’ve never had a manicure, a pedicure, a facial, a massage or even a bottle of wine that cost more than $10… I am so in need of some gourmet yummies! I’m breastfeeding my toddler too so some non-alcoholic drinks would be lovely!

  43. Nicole White
    25/07/2013 / 1:40 pm

    A mum to four,
    With hair no more,
    It’s all fallen out,
And my purse is in drought
    Something for me…
    Ahhh… LUXURY!

  44. Cheryl M
    25/07/2013 / 1:53 pm

Why do any of us need some luxury, we work hard, we do our very best to raise our children to be kind, caring, considering adults, have to work (care) through our illnesses, wear many hats, so we are not just working women, we are accountants, physios, psychologists, medics, domestic goddesses, and like many others, I volunteer 3X each week, two in a Nursing Home, and the other teaching English to refugees, so add teachers, and carers to that list

  45. Lesley Ann Walker
    25/07/2013 / 8:50 pm

I need to bring my soul back down from the thrills of my mind so luxury should help calm the body & allow me to relax & enjoy

I am mum to 12 gorgeous kids aged between 10 weeks and 22 years and I spend my days nurturing others which I absolutely love but it does mean that I don’t get much time or money to nurture me. I’m so not complaining as I really enjoy what I do but I would love a little luxury for once 🙂

  52. Jill Hamilton
    27/07/2013 / 11:12 pm

Fantastic prize for mums around, what luxuries do abound…I’d love to win this bounty fair, to indulge myself in the fruits it bears…Let me win I will share it around with all my friends I know I’m bound, to find myself with nothing left, and then I will be bereft…or I could just keep it to myself, and then oh my heart has felt, the luxuries that do abound in a hamper that makes the world go round….

  53. Stacey
    28/07/2013 / 2:27 pm

It’s been a tough year for me and the kids would be nice to have something positive

  54. Pauline Stacey
    28/07/2013 / 3:36 pm

I wouldn’t think twice about a bit of luxury in my life 🙂

  55. 28/07/2013 / 5:27 pm

I need some luxury like a hole in the head. Or hang on, that’s the opposite of what I wanted to say. My baby brain does that a lot these days… sigh…

  56. 28/07/2013 / 6:00 pm

I need some luxury, I never spoil myself, there’s always something else to buy or replace or pay!

  57. Renae Elsie Georg
    28/07/2013 / 10:43 pm

    Reading all these comments,
I don’t think I’ll win but I’ll throw in my two cents.
After two years I finally came off meds for severe Post-Natal Depression,
but am now facing possible regression.
You see, as soon as I came off I was hit with:
death in the family, a virus, husband called away and in-laws staying for two weeks – I tell you no myth!!!
I trying to stay strong and think positive,
and winning something like this would help me feel a bit festive.
    But win or not,
congrats to the winner and thank you Mad Mummas for the shot.

  58. Lauren Kite
    28/07/2013 / 10:51 pm

I am breastfeeding too and what I would do to have that luxurious ans cheeky glass of wine while cooking dinner. It would have to be the only thing I have really missed since becoming a Mum.

  59. Cecilia Warrick
    29/07/2013 / 10:32 am

My pantry fills me with dismay,
with hormonal swings, the way it goes,
just one whiff and I turn up my nose,
this mad mumma would like to chuck the lot,
and replace it with everything gourmet,
with Shloer and Simon Johnson’s help…’wine not’!

  60. Deb Crane
    29/07/2013 / 10:54 am

    So many more deserving people
    Just reading all above
But a little bit of Luxury
Would be accepted with much love
Times are hard for most of us
In this fast paced world we live
I would share it with my family
As it is more pleasurable to give

  61. Kirsten Benhiam
    29/07/2013 / 11:15 am

I can’t justify luxuries for myself. I go crazy thinking about how much food the money I spent will buy or how many socks for the kids it would get. I am starting to understand though, that luxuries for me are not wasted money as I am a better person after some spoiling. Even the kids notice the difference. Now to tell my brain that I can spend that money.

  62. Jane Whelan
    29/07/2013 / 11:46 am

I’m a carer for my special needs son, l haven’t been pampered in 18 years. It would be lovely to have some me time and pampering while he goes away to Queensland for a week and once again l’m left behind with nothing to do on my lonesome again. A holiday would be great but since that’s for my son a luxury hamper would fit the requirements nicely.

  64. Lea Anita Black
    29/07/2013 / 3:19 pm

Looking in our larder I dread
Not much to put on the bread….
    Vegemite, nutella or plain toast
    Gourmet I would prefer most!
In the fridge is the margarine
    nothing else yellow or green
Luxury treats are a rare thing,
something better can the postie bring?

  65. 29/07/2013 / 8:11 pm

Seven hospital stays in just 9 months,
I miss out on all the fun!
Stupid medication means I can’t have,
The hard stuff and then some.
This would be a really great prize,
A chance to enjoy some sips,
    Something soft but still tasty,
    I’m already licking my lips!

  66. cat ielasi
    30/07/2013 / 12:17 am

I need a little luxury because there’s never enough time in a day as a single mum with a home, gardens, children and pets. My “chill time” is after bedtime hours in a bath no longer than 20 mins so as not to fall asleep, lol. But the 1 thing we always stop for is a nibble of food through the day, and nothing is more satisfying to an Italian than the exquisite flavours of scrumptious savouries….this is a little luxury i can make time for 😀

  67. Paula
    30/07/2013 / 9:06 am

With a husband and 3 young boys… a bit of pamper and gourmet is just what the Dr ordered for this working Mama.

  68. Lindy King
    30/07/2013 / 10:19 am

Luxuries are few and far between, the kids needs and desires always come first. My husband and I both work full time and ends barely meet most weeks, something to spoil us would be wonderful

  69. Gemma Westacott Blair
    30/07/2013 / 1:17 pm

    I’m a wife, I’m a lover, I’m a teacher, I’m a mother,
    I’m a cleaner, I’m a driver, I do not get holidays.
    I’m unpaid, I don’t sleep, I’m always with baby.
You know I just need a bit of luxury.

  70. Karlene
    31/07/2013 / 1:00 am

    Current bills > current income
So I try and save money where I can which means no little luxuries for a while. Having a hamper arrive in the mail would be a great pick-me-up for our little family.

  71. Ginny
    31/07/2013 / 1:50 pm

This bit luxury wouldn’t be for me, rather for my mum who’s always looking after me!

  72. 31/07/2013 / 4:45 pm

With Mr C heading back out to sea a little bit of luxury would be a welcome distraction.

  73. Cheryl
    31/07/2013 / 4:50 pm

I would love a bit of spoiling. I’m a Mumma to 5 and there is never a dull moment. You know how it is, we tend to the needs of everyone before ourselves as Mum’s. Just to relax in the sunlight or even the shade of the moon while drinking a lovely glass of red wine and eating some fine olives and cheese while not being called for an entire 30 minutes (longer would be very cool) would just be AMAZING!!!

  74. Kaye Parker
    31/07/2013 / 4:56 pm

3 boys and hubby drive me insane some days…a glass (or bottle) of this would take the chill off my winter nights after dinner having a bit of me time…and I suppose I should share with hubby every now and then…lol

  75. Kristy Thompson
    31/07/2013 / 4:59 pm

    I’m expecting another baby
    I have two boys already
    Who has time for luxury?
    Having a shower before 12:30pm
    Getting out of my pyjamas
    My family drives me bananas
All in the name of love
Who needs luxury when you have all this stuff!!

  76. cassie blanch
    31/07/2013 / 6:00 pm

A little bit of luxury never goes astray,
especially when laundry baskets and dirty dishes fill your day.
to sit back and sip, enjoy and quietly ponder,
and not have to worry of an aching head in the hours of yonder.
I love my wine, in any which way and non alcoholic could be here to stay.
would love to taste and sit back with ease,
maybe even whip out….. the crackers and cheese 🙂

Hubby is out of work at the moment and as much as I love him 24/7 gets a little much and with 2 small children I have no time for me. Id like to be a little selfish and have some luxury.
