STRESSED? Take the test and see + Your chance to WIN!!

08/09/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

Stress is absolutely everywhere! Well things that cause people to stress anyway. The main causes are often money problems, uncertain job security, being overworked, rude people, road rage and traffic, conflict, relationship complications and the one most of us deal with on a daily basis – KIDS! When you have kids how can you not feel stressed at some point? Wagner knows and understands that everyone can feel stressed; they know it doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman, teenager, mother or father – sometimes you just need that extra bit of help to relax which is why they have a wide range of products to assist. Stress can cause physical, mental and emotional side effects. Headaches, high blood pressure, chest pain and trouble sleeping are common physical results of stress. It can cause anxiety, depression and irritability along with over eating, under eating and social withdrawal. Some people just don’t know how to deal with stress and it builds and ultimately causes them to become distressed which is an even greater cause for concern. Seek help before it reaches this point; please.

I personally find that when I am feeling particularly stressed it is the appetite, irritability and the sleep that is most effected. It is a horrible cycle really, the kids stress you out from their fighting, complaining, whinging, etc. and then you get frustrated at them because you’re stressed. There are however some very simple things you can do to help relieve or even avoid stress.

  • Go for a walk and clear your head, the fresh air will do wonders for you.
  • Slow down! Don’t rush through everything, take time to enjoy life.
  • Breathe – Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
  • Ask for help. It sounds so easy and yet many people think they can’t.
  • Turn up the music. Sing and dance it out. (You’ll also be getting some exercise!)
  • Do something for YOU! Get a massage, have your hair done, see a movie, etc.
  • LAUGH!! Laughter is quite simply the best medicine and it’s free.

Wagner is currently running a campaign to make people more aware of their stress levels. Pop over and take the stress test here. Oh and just as an extra benefit for liking the Wagner Facebook page and taking the stress test you will go into the draw to win an absolutely amazing prize – well actually 1 of 11 amazing prizes! Major prize is a weekend away for 2 to the all-inclusive Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat on the Gold Coast, with return economy airfares; or 1 in 10 Endota Spa vouchers valued at $110. How could you possibly be stressed after winning one of those prizes? Once you’ve done the test I would love you to let them and Mad Mummas readers know how you did. Come back and leave a comment – share the love!

Bambooby Buddies + GIVEAWAY

07/09/2013 By All Mum Said 30 Comments

What is one of the most embarrassing things that could happen to a breastfeeding woman? Breast milk leaking is what! Any mum who breastfeeds her baby will tell you that good quality breast pads are an essential item and I am going to be honest here and say that I had only ever used disposable ones until a couple of weeks ago. I never even considered using reusable breast pads as I thought surely they couldn’t possibly do the same job; I was however wrong.

I began using some bamboo breast pads from Bambooby Buddies (Great name isn’t it?) and must say that I am in love with them. They are so soft on your skin and do actually absorb everything that they need to without leaking any excess through your clothing. It may sound like I am surprised and that is because I still am! I wasn’t game enough to leave to the house wearing them so I stayed home every time I wore them and still no leaks. Even with the night time breast pads, they are made slightly thicker to absorb more and I have experienced nothing but positive results. Amazing quality and a must try if you have even contemplated giving reusable breast pads a go. Not only are they potentially a money saver but they are also great for the environment!

Oh did I mention that I have a Bambooby Buddies Starter Pack to giveaway to one very lucky reader! The starter pack contains 3 pairs of day breast pads and 2 pairs of night time breast pads. These retail for $39.95 which is great value for money.

For your chance to win these products just follow the instructions below!

To enter all you have to do is follow the instructions on the rafflecopter below. Winner is decided based on skill and chance plays no part. Australian residents only! Sorry everyone else. **The mandatory instructions MUST be completed or your entry will be void!**

Havaianas For Everyone!

03/09/2013 By All Mum Said 2 Comments

Spring has officially hit and with that we pack away our uggies and winter style boots; promptly replacing them with our pluggas, thongs and flip-flops. Since I was younger I have always had my preference in brand of thongs and that title has been won by Havaianas over and over. My kids are now also Havaianas fans as they cater to the wants and styles that kids love. Every time there is a popular new childrens movie; Havaianas have released character thongs for children to enjoy. At the moment some great Toy Story thongs are available for kids.

The quality and endless styles are great for not only available for kids they also release some awesome character ones for adults. There are currently some great Pacman Havaianas available for men and flower Havaianas available for women. Nothing compares to the feeling of my feet in a pair of thongs – it is like a celebration that warm weather has hit.

Do you love Havaianas as much as I do? What are your favourite shoes?

Sleep Deprived? You’re not the only one!

02/09/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

Sleep deprivation can be absolute torment and any mother/father with a baby who isn’t a fan of you getting a decent unbroken sleep will know this. As you all know I have a 12 week old baby girl (I know it has gone so fast!) and I am extremely lucky and grateful that she appreciates a good night sleep; so far anyway. My boys on the other hand would wake up a few times a night, not for any reason in particular just because and if truth be told not much has changed now that they are 6 and 4. I swear they just enjoy waking me up and seeing how much crap I can take on minimal sleep. I am not the only one and neither are you – there are parents everywhere suffering exactly this; which is why Bepanthen has a new campaign promoting Mummy’s Diaries series on YouTube where  mums share their experiences, feelings and basically how they get through the day. It is a great idea for new mums who are experiencing everything for the first time and feel like they can’t talk about it.

It has proven time and time again that mothers, fathers and other children that experience the unfortunate lack of sleep are all too familiar that it can cause waves of unexpected emotions, makes you feel lethargic and struggle to stay awake during the day and makes you less tolerant to those around you. Now obviously you cannot change whether or not you are woken in the middle of the night by babies or children however you can do a few things to help you get through the day. Get that hit of caffeine first thing in the morning (if breastfeeding remember don’t over-do the caffeine and consider substituting with a cold glass of water), get some fresh air and go for a walk (not only do you get to enjoy the sun but you will also be getting some exercise).

I know from experience that sleep deprivation can be an absolute nightmare but I have learnt to enjoy every second of this torture because they grow up way too fast and before you know it they will be teenagers and will be keeping you awake with a different kind of stress. They are only babies once – enjoy it!

This is a sponsored post but opinions are my own.
