Suck it up! + Dyson Giveaway

15/11/2013 By All Mum Said 36 Comments

So we all know that cleaning the house is one of those painstaking jobs that seem to be repeating like Groundhog Day, especially when there are children in the house. They always seem to attract dirt that instantly falls off the second they get inside and 9 times out of 10 it is on the carpet. Don’t even get me started on the sand – where does it comes from? We don’t have a sandpit or live near a beach! You may remember me talking about my love of Dyson DC24 Hepa and how well it sucks up the dirt from everywhere – well its life is unfortunately slowly coming to an end. I will be sad to see it go because it has been put through some tough times in its long life and has always come out the other side ready for its next run but it’s getting old and on its way out. Over the past 2 weeks I have been trialling 2 Dyson vacuum cleaners and geez have they come along way! Not saying they weren’t great before but technology has sure advanced. 2 lucky readers will also have the chance to trial one of these vacuum cleaners and receive a 20% discount if they wanted to purchase it after their trial.

Dyson DC54

The Dyson CineticTM DC54 is everything and more that I’d want in a vacuum cleaner! It contains no bags or filters which means no stuffing around and trying to remember to replace, purchase and clean anything – just empty when the hygienic bin is full and off you go again. My house is quite large and I have to empty it every 2nd time I vacuum which isn’t too bad. It is also very easy to empty; simply press a button and empty directly into your bin. When swapping from tiles to carpet there is no need to change over heads or modify anything, it works on all surfaces which is fantastic because it saves a few more seconds I’d otherwise spend cleaning. While this isn’t the smallest machine on the market it is very easy to manoeuvre around furniture and walls which is a must have when purchasing a pull along vacuum cleaner. My kids favourite part of the vacuum is of course the auto cord windup because our current vacuum is an upright so they have never experienced the joy from the cord winding itself up with the push of a button. Now the most important thing anyone wants to know when researching vacuums – DOES IT SUCK? Yes it does, even when the hygienic bin is full it doesn’t lose suction. The Dyson Cinetic™ is the only machine with no bags, no loss of suction, and no filter fuss. RRP: DC54 Animal Pro (RRP$1099), DC54 Animal (RRP$999), DC54 Allergy (RRP$899), DC54 Multi floor (RRP$799). Find the new Dyson Cinetic™ at www.Dyson.com.au.

Dyson DC59

The Dyson Digital Slim DC59 is a mean piece of equipment if you’re looking for something compact and cordless. It’s lightweight at only 2kg yet has been designed to provide the sucking power of a full size machine. I love how easy it is to manoeuvre into all the hard to reach places that are always painful to clean and since the new V6 motor has been designed specifically for this machine it is one and a half times more powerful than the previous version of the motor. I own a DC44 which has the previous motor and there is so much difference. While mine works great for what I use it for the DC59 is a clear winner if I were looking to purchase another cordless. I love this machine for quick tidy ups because it is simply quicker than plugging in the big vacuum for a small mess. The battery lasts for 20 minutes which is more than sufficient for what I have been using it for however for anything more than that I would use a mains vacuum cleaner because I couldn’t vacuum my whole house in 20 minutes. The latest Dyson Digital Slim™ DC59 vacuum is lightweight, cordless, and packs the same power as a mains vacuum cleaner. RRP $649 for the Animal model and $599 for the Multi floor. Find the new Dyson Digital Slim at www.Dyson.com.au.

Sexy Time – Part 2

13/11/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

As mentioned in the editorial last week ‘Sexy Time’ when I shared with you a man’s perspective on the very sensitive subject of premature ejaculation I will be sharing a woman’s point of view on the issue, well actually 2 women’s opinions. I would first like to say a huge thank you to both of these women (and the women who emailed me and left comments on their experiences) and also Matt*, all of whom were willing to share their thoughts and experiences with me for the purpose of these posts.

Jane* has been with her husband since she was in her early 20’s (now late 30’s) and admits that when it happened the first few times she put it down to him being an over-excited male who was obviously very eager. However as the months went on and the same thing continued to happen she began to realise that this may be a little more serious than your average enthusiasm when it came to having sex. She started to feel less like a lover and more like a housemate with little to no benefits. Now this could have been the breaking point in their relationship, however Jane decided that she would discuss her concerns with her husband and together they decided that if they wanted to continue to grow as a couple they would require some advice from their GP to help overcome this problem. Since that visit there has been the occasional premature ending however overall Jane is quite satisfied with their now very healthy, active and spontaneous sex life.

Anne* on the other hand is in a sexless relationship due to constantly feeling disappointed in the bedroom. Ryan* has shut down every attempt of Anne’s to seek help from his doctor which has unfortunately resulted in her no longer wanting to be intimate with him. She has lost that feeling of closeness and connection with Ryan as a consequence and while at first she felt guilty about it, she is now just saddened by the fact that it has had such a negative effect on their relationship.

Every person and relationship will handle this situation differently and while one person may not mind in the slightest, it could be the breaking point for another. If you suffer from premature ejaculation or know someone who does, take control and check out http://www.controlpe.com.au/ or make an appointment to see your GP for more information.

*Names have been changed to protect the privacy of those who shared their stories.

This is a sponsored post but all opinions are my own.

Smiggle – More than just Stationary + GIVEAWAY

11/11/2013 By All Mum Said 205 Comments

The words stationary, office supplies and back to school get me so excited!! I know I may be slightly jumping the gun with back to school considering school holidays haven’t even started yet but since I will have both my boys at school next year I am a little excited. Those who know me will know that I am an addict – a hard-core stationary addict. I cannot stop buying it which has everything to do with wanting to always be prepared and nothing to with the fact that I have a slight problem with limiting myself. My kids have inherited this love and so when I told them about the awesome range of products that Smiggle have, they were writing their wish list of what they wanted for school next year and the MASSIVE list for Christmas faster than the click of the pen (and that’s pretty damn quick).

Smiggle Mini Backpacks $34.95

Smiggle have got a fantastic range of products just in time for Christmas and there is something to please pretty much everyone. Until recently I didn’t realise that the range extended beyond stationary and back to school goodies – my eyes have now been opened. They have so much more than just backpacks and pencil cases (they are great though) and very fitting for school kids but my amazement came from the variety that is suitable for Christmas. My 4 year olds favourites are the headphones that are brightly coloured and light weight and the jumping clock because every kid needs a jumping clock! There is so much on my 6 year olds list that I will only mention a few – desk fan (not sure why besides the fact it looks cool as he doesn’t have a desk), scratch books which I personally love and will be adding to their presents, money boxes/mini book safes, the colour changing umbrella (again awesome), scull wallet and of course he MUST have the rocket lamp.

Smiggle headphones Play $34.95

Smiggle Scratch book $14.95 & Mini book safe $14.95

There are a heap of items that would be perfect for stocking stuffers as well like elastics (remember them?), watches, hair clips, unique rubbers and they have not forgotten about the family pet – they have a range of goodies for them as well.

Smiggle pencil cases

As the title suggests there is a giveaway that’s bound to score you some brownie points with the kids!! I have 2x amazing Smiggle Prize Packs to giveaway to 2x lucky Mad Mummas readers.

Each winner will receive: 1x Smiggle Jumping Clock, 1x Smiggle Play Headphones, 1x Smiggle Rocket Lamp. Each prize pack is valued at $81.85!

PRIZE UP FOR GRABS

To enter all you have to do is follow the instructions on the rafflecopter below. Winner is decided based on skill and chance plays no part. Australian residents only! Sorry everyone else. **The mandatory instructions MUST be completed or your entry will be void!**

BUSINESS CALL OUT – Want to be involved?

09/11/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

The success of last year’s HUGE Christmas Giveaway has prompted inquiries and interest in running it again; so that is exactly what we are going to do. We will do it again this year!!

As mentioned above there has already been some interest and some fantastic brands/businesses are already taking part. I’m reaching out and giving you all the opportunity to get your business noticed and in front of eyes that would potentially bring more business to your store/page. The notion behind it is that the more products involved in the giveaway, the more popular it will ultimately be.

What’s involved I hear you ask? I will write and share a short review on each relevant product, and an identical product will be offered as part of the giveaway.

What do you get in return? In return for your kindness and generosity in taking part it will be a condition of entry to ‘like’ each individual business page so in turn you will build your facebook likers/followers. I will gladly accept and use keywords of your choice (providing they are not inappropriate). Each product will be entitled to 2 links – whether it be website, facebook, twitter, etc.

If you would like to be involved, you must be able to provide your product or voucher to me within the next 2 weeks and be able to supply the winner the same item/identical item to winners once giveaway is drawn. Postage is to be covered by business unless discussed otherwise. The giveaways will only be open to Australian residents only. There will be no fee to take part in this opportunity, besides the donation of product for review & giveaway.

If this is of interest to you please email me with your details or inquiries and we can move forward from there.

Thanks so much for your time and interest!
