The year that was…..

31/12/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

So it turns out that I may have needed a break from blogging and technology. When I planned on enjoying a few days with my family over Christmas without blogging I didn’t intend on it being an extended to 10 days! Can you believe it – 10 whole days, ok almost 10 days. This is such a surprise because I don’t think I have been missing in action for this long since Mad Mummas began last year. So much has happened this year for our family and I am pleased to majority has been positive.

We moved into our newly built family home (after much stress of the building process and delays).

Our family home!

We welcomed our daughter; child number 3 to our to our family.

So perfect

We also welcomed a puppy to the family not long after.

Meet Karma

The boys discovered brotherly love; or more so how brothers fight.

Boys will be boys

Mad Dad and I enjoyed our 4th year of marriage (11 years together)

We’ve been together 11  years now

Babies first Christmas means the big responsibility of putting the star on the tree.

She thought it looked delicious!

Santa came to 3 very happy children!

Can you tell they just wanted to play with their toys?

I cannot wait to see what opportunities 2014 brings us! I hope you have had a wonderful 2013 and an even better 2014.

Thank you for your support this year and I hope to bring you so much more in the coming 12 months.

What was the highlight/s of your year?

Do you donate to the Kmart Wishing Tree?

21/12/2013 By All Mum Said 1 Comment

So Christmas is here and like every year we hit the shops to find that perfect gift for our loved ones, friends, work colleagues, secret santas and even our pets but what about those in need? The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal is a wonderful way to donate to those who otherwise wouldn’t get a gift at Christmas. I love that Kmart and the Salvation Army work closely for this cause and each and every year when we go to Kmart our children pick out a toy each to donate to the Wishing Tree. Donating a gift has more than one benefit; the kids learn about showing kindness, compassion and sacrifice to help someone less fortunate than them to enjoy something new for Christmas and bring a smile to their faces. The gift of giving has endless rewards.

It is so easy to do and we will continue to donate each and every year because I would like to think that if we happened to be in the position where we needed help and our children wouldn’t receive anything from Santa that the kindness of someone better off would be generous enough to help. Gifts don’t have to be purchased at Kmart and that is the beauty of this Appeal; Kmart aren’t in it for themselves – they are involved to help others.

Tis the season to be jolly and what’s more jolly than the reward of knowing you have made someone else smile!

*********************************************************

As I mentioned on facebook there were so MANY entries that were invalid because they didn’t ‘like’ every business that was included in the giveaway. It was very sad seeing so many winning answers be deemed invalid because of something that would have taken them 2 seconds to do. Those who have won a prize I would love for you to pop over to the business and say a quick thanks. While I’m sure most of you will anyway there are a couple that unfortunately won’t – I actually had a couple of winners not even say thanks when they responded to their winning email which is a little sad. Manners (and appreciation) are still magic words!!

Thank you everyone who entered and an even bigger thank you to all the amazing businesses that took part. It was a fantastic giveaway and a brilliant was to end 2013!!

Snapfish me a gift! + 40% OFF!!

20/12/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

When I need to order photo gifts, canvases, prints or even photo books I go straight to Snapfish. I discovered them about 4 years ago and have never looked back so when I was approached to share some of their products with you I couldn’t say no. I recently ordered a gorgeous photo book and filled it images from the past 12 months as a gift for my family who doesn’t get to see us as often as they would like. The website makes it so easy to create your keepsake (regardless what you are making – photo book, mug, you name it!) and the quality is always superior. The hard cover photo books are Snapfish’s best sellers and for good reason; the images are clear, the pages are thick, you can have multiple images per page and the covers can be customised. They come with 20 pages but additional are available for $1.95 per extra page. There are also lay-flat books available which are great if you want one photo to spread across the entire 2 pages.

I have also purchased many canvas prints from Snapfish and have never been disappointed with them. They are ready to hang and made with the highest quality. I am pretty sure a canvas was the first thing I ever purchased from Snapfish and obviously was very happy with them because I have since gone onto to buy 6 for my home along with many others as gifts for family. My most recent canvas is of my 6 month old; I’m kind of embarrassed to say that it has taken me this long to hang a photo of her (yes this is the first photo of her to be hung in our home).

If you are looking for something unique as a gift, want to create something and memorable to keep forever that is reasonably priced than I highly recommend checking out Snapfish. You can get your products delivered to your door or pick up at your local Kmart store. I have an amazing discount for Mad Mummas readers as well – how does 40% off 4 amazing products sound?

1. 40% off 20x28cm Custom Hardcover Photo Book – 20 pages. CODE: FUN20X28

2. 40% off 28x20cm, Portrait (A4 size) Lay-flat Photo Books – 20 pages. CODE: FUN28X20LF

3. 40% off 30x30cm Square Canvas Prints. CODE: FUN30X30

Is your make up making you look older?

19/12/2013 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

I often see women in a range of ages from spring chickens to seniors that wear their make up so thick and heavy that it often makes you wonder whether they would look better with no make up on. Surely wearing so much isn’t good for their skin. I then also question does it just seem like a lot because I am a minimalist in terms of make up? My daily regime consists of cleansing, toning, moisturiser and a little bit of bronzer, I will occasionally add some lip gloss if I feel like prettying it up a little but that’s about it. I understand a lot of women wear make up for many reasons – to cover imperfections, give their face colour and some even to give them that extra confidence but what many don’t realise is that the make up they wear is making them look older than they actually are.

Olay is promoting their new Olay Regenerist CC Cream at the moment but alongside this they are showing women how they can look younger without having to pile on the heavy make-up. There are a few basic steps that will save everyone a lot of time and leave them looking not only more natural but more radiant. Click over and watch the 1 minute video to see the amazing comparison and learn how you too can get the natural make up look.
