Vileda Premium 5 Mop System {Review}

05/09/2014 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

For the past week I have been using the new Vileda Premium 5 Mop. I swapped out my usual mop for the purpose of reviewing this system and I don’t think I will be going back to my standard mop. We have a lot of tiles in our home and with 3 kids running around it gets beyond dirty, especially if I don’t vacuum or miss a day of mopping. This system is fuss free and very easy to use. The pads are interchangeable and allow you to swap between pads while the larger mop frame cuts down cleaning time by covering a wider surface area and it has an ergonomic telescopic handle which makes storing easy.

Vileda Premium 5

Each mop comes with 2 pads; one for dusting and sweeping and the other is for wet mopping. The dusting/sweeping pad picks up particles and provides a great dust free clean thanks to its finely looped microfibres. It is great for a number of flooring types – tiles, wooden floors, lino/vinyl and basically any other flat, smooth internal flooring. One thing that really stood out to me was the flat swivel head that allowed me to clean hard to reach places like under the fridge and dishwasher which is something I usually struggle with. I was really impressed with the result of this pad.

The microfibre mop pad provided a great streak free clean without the need for many chemicals, hot water and vinegar does the job. We have black tiles in our bathrooms and they show up every streak, drop of water and speck of dirt which is very unfortunate for me however the Vileda Premium 5 doesn’t leave a mark on it thanks to the fantastic Premium 5 Spin Wringer Bucket. This bucket allows you to wring out as much or little water as you like by simply placing the mop in the wring section and pushing your foot on the peddle. If you have little kids crawling around or just don’t have the time to wait for the floor to dry; this is the perfect option.

To see the Vileda Premium 5 Mop and and Spin wringer bucket in action watch this hilarious clip!

I’d love for you to become a fan of Vileda’s Facebook page. They offer product samples and the occasional giveaway on top of fantastic cleaning tips for everyday.

Disclosure: I received this product for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

Get clean with Euca + Giveaway

04/09/2014 By All Mum Said 66 Comments

Living natural is becoming an increasingly popular way of life. This is the choice many make for a number of reasons; allergies, to be environmentally friendly or maybe it is so they give their bodies only the best. I started searching for more natural products when B2* was approximately 6 months old due to his eczema manifesting to more than just dry and itchy skin; his cheeks were raw red and painful. To this day I still don’t know what caused his flare ups but it has since subsided and now at age 5 very rarely makes an appearance. I know certain washing powders can cause trigger eczema which is why it is great that there are wonderfully clean products available like Euca. The range covers everything you could need while including no fillers or synthetic perfumes and as the name suggests contains Australian Eucalyptus Oil.

Euca

Euca Soaker

B1 and B2 have white school uniforms. White! Who does that for young kids? Regardless the job of keeping them white is left up to me and I have found that the Euca soaker works a treat. You can use it to soak in the tub/bucket over night to maximise the effectiveness or you can put it straight into your washing machine (front or top loader) and use the soak cycle. The boys shirts always come out clean and white.

Euca Laundry Powder

This is my favourite of the four products shown above. It is great for front and top loader machines; giving 100 washes for front loader and 50 top load washes. It is 100% soluble and is grey and septic safe! Another benefit this Euca powder has is it is perfect for both hot and cold water.

Euca Laundry Liquid

The laundry liquid is basically the same as the powder except that it is liquid. So if you prefer liquid than this is the one for you. Ideal for both top and front loaders with top getting 50 loads and front getting 65 loads per bottle.

Euca Fabric Conditioner

The Euca fabric conditioner makes ironing easy (not that I EVER EVER iron) but it does help to give the clothes less wrinkles. It is extra light and really doe make the clothes soft with a hint of Eucalyptus scent from the Australian eucalyptus oil. It can be used in the bucket or the machine and you will get up to 65 loads from the 2L bottle.

Overall I would recommend this if you are looking at going natural and still want a product that works. In addition to it being a great product it is also Australian made.

Prize contains: 2kg Euca Laundry Powder, 2lt Euca Liquid, 2kg Euca Soaker, 2kg Euca Fabric Conditioner. 2x PRIZE PACKS UP FOR GRABS – Each valued at $49.80 (total prize pool = $99.60)

Harpic in my bathroom

09/04/2014 By All Mum Said 3 Comments

Some things are just a fact of life and cleaning toilets is one of them (unless you have enough money to pay someone else to do it for you!) unfortunately I don’t and with 3 males in the house (1 big and 2 small) let me just say it’s not pretty. Like most families there are some brands that frequent the cleaning cupboard and for the toilet it’s Harpic in our house.

To get my toilet clean, glistening white and smelling fresh I use Harpic White & Shine and the flushable toilet wipes. The Harpic toilet cleaner is nice and thick so it sticks to the bowl helping to disinfect for a deeper clean and the wipes are fantastic because they not only great for a quick clean up they are biodegradable and kill 99.9% of germs.

What do you use to keep your toilet clean?

Disclosure: I received a couple of Harpic products to review for the purpose of this post. All opinions are my own. (As I mentioned in the post I stock Harpic anyway as I trust the brand)

Palmolive Divine Blends + GIVEAWAY

21/03/2014 By All Mum Said 117 Comments

I think dishwashing detergent is a staple item in every household, even those with a dishwasher. Even though I do have a dishwasher I will often hand wash my dishes if there aren’t enough for at least half a load which is why I am constantly trying out new liquids to keep on hand. Not to mention they can be used for more than just dishes – cleaning other things, slip and slides, bubble paints, etc. Most recently I have been using the new Palmolive Divine Blends and I must say it comes with a unique aromatic experience to infuse your senses. The vanilla and berries are such a pleasant and welcomed change from the usual lemon scented dishwashing liquids; it is also available in Violet and Apple Blossom but I cannot comment on what this one smells like. I can say if the vanilla and berries is anything to gauge it by it will smell absolutely delicious.

It’s rich formula cuts through grease and leaves your dishes sparkling clean providing a delightful dishwashing experience, well as delightful as washing dishes can be. I love that the suds stay full and bubbly for the whole wash and a little bit of the liquid goes long a way making it great value for money. Available in leading supermarkets you can purchase the Palmolive Divine Blends Vanilla & Berries Dishwashing liquid (700ml) for $4.99  and the  Palmolive Divine Blends Violet & Apple Blossom Dishwashing Liquid (375ml) for RR $3.49.
