Disney fairies turned pirates + GIVEAWAY

04/07/2014 By All Mum Said 90 Comments

We’ve all seen the adverts for the new movie Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy and it looks great. I love seeing transformations like this happen. The pretty little  Disney fairies that flutter around being all girly and petite get to experience the more boy related journeys and get dirty. Not to mention as a mother of boys and girls it makes for a nice that they can all enjoy the same movie. Haven’t heard about the movie? Well here is the run down.  When a misunderstood dust-keeper fairy named Zarina steals Pixie Hollow’s all-important Blue Pixie Dust, and flies away to join forces with the pirates of Skull Rock, Tinker Bell and her fairy friends must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to return it to its rightful place. However, in the midst of their pursuit of Zarina, Tink’s world is turned upside down. She and her friends find that their respective talents have been switched and they have to race against time to retrieve the Blue Pixie Dust and return home to save Pixie Hollow. While the movie may interest everyone the gorgeous fully poseable 9 inch fairy pirate dolls I’m about to show you are obviously more centred around girl interests.

As many of you know I have 2 boys and a girl. The girl being only 1. This means we have only begun to experience the girly toys; dolls, fairies, princesses, etc but Little Miss is discovering what she likes already. She absolutely loves her pirate fairy, she has Tinker Bell and while she isn’t quite old enough to understand that she can pose their bodies she does adore the beautiful shimmer fashion and sparkly wings. *Just quietly, I’m loving her boots!* Rocking their new pirate looks are: Tinker Bell, Rosetta, Periwinkle and the new misunderstood dust-keeper Zarina. Available from Big W, Target & Toys R Us for $20.99 ea.

**************

Does your daughter love fairies? Maybe pirates? Maybe you have seen the movie already? Well have got a giveaway for you.

Christmas with Tiger Tribe + GIVEAWAY

01/12/2013 By All Mum Said 60 Comments

Still looking for Christmas presents for the kids? Or maybe you are super organised and have only got stocking stuffers left to get? I’m sitting on the fence with this one. I always think I have everything but at the last minute I’ll be reminded about something that I was supposed to have gotten for families and friends children but didn’t. Regardless how prepared you are for this festive season Tiger Tribe is definitely worth checking out because they have everything you could want for kids of every age; chances are you’ll find something that you ‘have’ to have. This wonderful Australian business was founded by a husband and wife team with 2 little tigers of their own, so they know first-hand what interests kids and encourages imagination and play.

There are so many wonderful products available that it would take me hours telling you about them all. They have wooden toys, balance bikes, magnetic play, dolls, tea sets, jewellery boxes, handbags, things that fly, Quut (awesome beach toys), party favours, educational activities, baby toys and gifts, and so much more. Because Tiger Tribe are a real family they understand the financial strain that is often placed on the average household and this shows with their prices; many of their items on the website are between $15-$25 making them great party presents. I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to review a few of the Tiger Tribe range and am nothing but absolutely 100% impressed!

The Kit Pax – Pirate Ship allows your budding little builders and engineers to create their very own pirate ship from the ground up. This is suitable for ages 3+ as it is very easy to use. Children will have so much fun putting it together; with its simple and unique connection system they will truly feel like they are pirate masterminds. There are many Kit Pax Products available – hospital, fire station, police station, parking lot, doll house and rocket ship. Each one is made from eco-friendly plywood, sourced from plantation forests and uses non-toxic paints making this extremely safe for your little ones. There are hours of fun to be had making the Kit Pax – Pirate Ship.

What kid doesn’t love magnets? With the Magna Play range you will be able to travel in peace with the kids being kept happily amused. The Robots in Space Magna Play is perfect for the robot obsessed child in your life; they can create and recreate, mix and match to construct their very own designs of robot or build to match the cards image with the ability of magnets. Conveniently stored in a portable tin suitcase, this is the perfect travel companion as it’s always ready to go. The colours are bright, enticing and will provide endless enjoyment for little ones. There are also a wide range of Magna Play available – Treasure Island, Robots in Space, Secret Garden, Things that Go, Forest Fantasy, Creative Creatures, Dress Up Girls, Boys in Town & Jungle Safari.

Something for the girls? Easy done. Tiger tribe have recently released a gorgeous collection of rag dolls that are handcrafted from great quality soft cottons. They are made with the most attention to detail and each have their very own personality and style so each one is unique. With 8 beautiful dolls in total it makes it very hard to pick a favourite but I’d have to say Tilly comes in first for me closely followed by Poppy and Rosie. Each rag doll has an adorable outfit, styled hair and a gorgeous smile. My 5 month old has Tilly and absolutely loves it to death! Due to the quality that Tiger Tribe uphold with all of their products I didn’t hesitate in allowing my baby girl to have her doll before she was 1 year of age (the recommended age is 1+). It has been shown a lot of slobbery kisses, hand holding and hair pulling in its short life (all out of love) and she still looks like she has just been taken out of her stylish gift box. The soft fabrics are great because I don’t have to worry at all about it scratching Hadleys’ skin or hurting her gums when she gets over excited. Girls of all ages will enjoy the company of these adorable dolls.

There are also items that are perfect for stocking stuffers for both boys and girls!! Swirlies are soft, safe to throw and help develop hand eye co-ordination (they are similar to a frisbee). RRP $14.95. Tim the original Flying bird is a fantastic battery free product. He flaps his tear proof wings like a real bird as power is released from the elastic system. RRP $19.95. Fairy stamps are great for the girls; with easy-hold and comfortable grip stamps these are perfect for little hands and to help keep little fingers clean! RRP $19.95. There are even stocking stuffers available for babies (newborn and up) – my favourites are the cheekies! These cuddly little creatures were designed for maximum cuddle power. The Cheekies are available in 3 different styles and 5 different colours and are bound to be a bedtime favourite. RRP $27.95.

Pirates, Boats & A Darling Day

22/10/2012 By All Mum Said 8 Comments

On Saturday we got up early and embraced the few hour drive to Sydney. We battled the horrific traffic, tolls (crap – forgot to pay them, better do that now) all to see the pirates.

The Australian Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour is currently sporting every little girl and boys dream adventure – Pirates Kids Adventure Land. We started our venture by exploring the Vampire, Daring Class Destroyer. It is the largest museum vessel in Australia and the last of our country’s big gun ships. While onboard we learnt how cramped the living spaces were and comfort clearly never played a part to anyone especially when it came to the workers.

We then climbed down into the submarine and learnt that they also had minimum space shared among 64 men. The kids loved looking through the periscope and looking at all the bunk beds.

We moved on from there to the pirate ship and then inside to Pirate Land. Needless to say the kids were extremely excited about this one. They got to board the pirate ship and cross the rickety ladder. Decode the treasure map and shoot canons. The fun just kept on going.

Once we had all been pirated out we checked out the museum, it was great however half was closed off. If you are in the Sydney area or plan on going soon I have a spare ticket – pirate pass (big ticket) It can be used for an adult (usually $25) or child (usually $10) Families – 2 adults + 3 kids are $60. We had 4 tickets however as Kye is younger than 4 he was free. So if you would like the ticket please let me know and I’ll post it to you J

The first person to ask gets it!
