Healthy Life – Product Talk

05/09/2012 By All Mum Said Leave a Comment

I grew up in central Queensland and only moved to NSW a couple of years ago. Let me tell you I did not and have not adjusted to the weather and temperature differences.

In Queensland it was full of lovely, warm days (ok and some very hot), bright sun, great exercise weather and not at all freezing. In New South Wales I have found it to be sunny (sometimes), absolutely freezing in winter with icy breezes and just way too cold to get out and exercise. As you can probably tell I am extremely bias and love Queensland. That may have something to do with the fact that since moving to NSW at least one of the household members is always sick.

Our immune systems need a kick in the backside and start pulling their weight! I have recently been introduced to new product that I wish I had found a long time ago; it is from Golden Circle and promotes Healthy Living. It is Australia’s very first Probiotic Juice that supports your natural immune system in fighting off the bugs, stresses, etc. Where have you been all my life?

It is even great for kids ~ no added sugar, no artificial colours or flavours, free from diary, comes complete with twice the recommended amount of Vitamin C and the best bit…… They taste great!!

They come in two flavours – Breakfast and Apple Mango. I am not a huge mango lover so I opted for the Breakfast juice which I absolutely love; it is fresh and flavoursome. The kids however enjoyed both the Apple Mango and breakfast.

This juice has been welcomed warmly into our home to help us combat those horrible bugs that seem to attack year round. Thank you Product Talk by Nuffnang for introducing me to this Healthy Life juice.

How is your pelvic floor? + GIVEAWAY!!

07/07/2012 By All Mum Said 16 Comments

I wasn’t exactly sure how to begin this post as I don’t generally (make that ever) talk about pelvic floor exercises. It didn’t really occur to me that it should be spoken about – to some extent anyway. They are such an important exercise for women.

I was sent a new product designed to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. I was intrigued but a little hesitant. I wasn’t sure how this was going to end. Looking at this ball contraption I was thinking what if it gets stuck?

Yes the ball goes ‘in’ you similarly to a tampons position. But in the end I risked complete and utter embarrassment and disaster and gave this a go. I am happy to report – no disastrous hospital visit and I am quite liking the fact when doing my kegel exercises I can feel that it is getting the correct  work out down there.

I have been using the 28g weight ball and I love it. It is so simple and easy to use (once you get over the initial mentioned fear!) The Laselle Kegel Exercisers come in 3 weights so you can choose the weight that is right for you. 28g, 38g and 48g. They are perfect for women of all ages, pre-pregnancy, post pregnancy, I think you get the idea. I think every woman should have one, they are the most effective way to strengthen your pelvic floor.

I have 3x of the Kegel Exercisers from Intimina to give away to 3 very lucky readers.

Valued at $19.95 each

Qubies – The simple way to freeze and store

05/07/2012 By All Mum Said 6 Comments

I remember when I was breastfeeding and that trying to store my milk was just a nightmare. I would freeze too much or not enough into portions. I just couldn’t get it right. I now know that I am not the mother who found this frustrating.

There is another Aussie mum who was fed up and irritated with cheap ice cube trays and the difficulty that came with trying to get the frozen products out. She designed an amazing and simple product not only for herself but for other parents out there having the same problems.

Now if there is a product out there that can make our lives as parents easier then I want to try it. So when I was asked to give a review on Qubies, I was not going to say no!

When the product arrived I was stocked from the second I opened it – they sent me the pink one (I love pink!)
The colours are fantastic – the new pink, blue & green. The best bit is that they are dishwasher safe – a must in my book!

The Qubies freezes in convenient 30ml portions which is perfect for a wide range of uses. From babies to adults there is a use. Breastfeeding mums will find it heavenly in reducing breast milk wastage. Great for freezing puree food – mash, fruit, etc. or frozen yoghurt as bub grows. Then we have the benefits for adults – it can freeze all the practical and very handy things into portions as well. Stocks, pestos, egg whites, etc. My absolute favourite now however would be making lime infused ice cubes. Lets face it by the time the babies no longer need the Qubies you will be needing them ;p

For a mere $19.95 I think it is money well spent for the convenience of perfectly measured, easily removable and stored quantities.

You can purchase the multi-award winning product on their website, in stores or visit their Facebook page.  Oh and they have a huge range of recipes on their website that are perfect!

What did you find frustrating about trying to store breast milk or baby food?
