Enjoy your Summer with Mozzi Gear + GIVEAWAY

Australian Summers are full of sun, barbecues and the great outdoors. Unfortunately mosquitoes also like to join the festivities and many of us (including me) are magnets for them. If there is one buzzing around it is more often than not having itself a delicious feast on my legs. Mozzi Gear have made our afternoon outdoor activities much more enjoyable.

Mozzi Gear

We took a stash of Mozzi Gear products away camping with us to put to the test. The last time we went we forgot the aeroguard which ultiately led to me writing the Essential Camping Checklist so no one is ever left unprepared, including us.  This time around, we each wore a Mosquito Band. What is a mosquito band? It is one of the most popular Mozzi Gear products. It is a non-toxic silicone band that is a slow-release insect repellent containing citronella oil. I love this option of mozzie deterrent because it is so easy to use, simply pop it onto your wrist and your ready to go. It’s perfect for camping, fishing, bush walking and any other outdoor activities mosquito repellent may be necessary. You can wear it swimming because it is waterproof, effective for up to 48 hours and comes in 2 sizes – adults and kids. Each box contains 2 bands and comes in a range of 4 colours.

Mozzi Gear

We also hung a Mozzi Gear Portable Ultrasonic Mosquito Repeller from our tent awning for extra protection. Claiming to offer up to a 3m coverage we thought we could give it a go and whether it was the ultrasonic repeller, the mosquito bands or a mix of both; we were not bitten once! The Ultrasonic Repeller is very simple to use, it’s compact and portable. It is non-toxic which is very important especially when children are around and has 3 time settings so you can set it to turn off after 4 hours, 6 hours or 12 hours. While we chose to hang it from the tent awning you can clip it onto clothing or anywhere you want as it, as it has a clip on the back for convenience.

Mozzi Gear

We have also been introduced to Mosquito Click by Mozzi Gear. It is intriguing because it works on piezoelectricity  which means it doesn’t require batteries to work. This is not only for mosquito bites as it also works on ant bites, sand-flies, midges and even minor jelly fish stings. With 5 to 10 clicks to treat itching and 10 to 15 clicks to prevent swelling this handy sized clicker is great to keep on hand. Initially it shocks you as it sends a small electric shock however it is the sound of the click that makes you jump and not the current itself. It is safe to use on children over 6 months old and is chemical free. From just one of these clickers you will get approximately 5000 bite treatments.

  • We are big bbq eaters always socialising and as we live near the estates lake we are always eaten alive.
These products would be great to have to help combat the problem.

  • Mosquitoes midges sand flies love my i get attacked so bad the doctor has never seen anyone as allergic to their bites as me would love to win and see if they help me thanks

  • I’m a mossy magnet, just need to walk outside from dusk onwards and I’m dinner. Biggest problem is when out star gazing.

  • I’m sure I’m Number 1 on the Mozzie Hitlist, this would be awesome so when out at Dusk I won’t come inside looking like a leopard (covered in spots).

  • Living in cape York is mozzie land trying to have a bbq or just gardening they just swarm to you which makes life very difficult when you love the outdoors

  • BBQ’s at home with family and friends, they always go late into the night and then I am the one getting eaten!

  • We have a serious mosquito problem in our area and just walking out the back door results in us being attacked by hundreds of mosquitoes, so doing any form of entertaining outside impossible.

  • we love camping near creeks, lakes, and having bqqs, parties at night we get eaten alive by mossies we desperately need this

  • Those little blood suckers swarm to me. I get eaten alive, just in the back yard. Camping I need so much aeroguard , I hate it

  • By the Loddon River is my farm,
Outside with the horses all day.
I am often bitten on the arm,
As I ride or with my horses play.
Great big welts that are so itchy,
That drive me mad for days.
Mossies even make the horses twitchy,
    Especially the grey and bays.

  • The late afternoons when its nice to be outside enjoying the fresh air, having a barbecue , but those pesky mosquitoes make it impossible.

  • Wow these would be awesome to try as i have never seen them before, thanks so much for the chance :) sharing the love on facebook

  • Would love these for when we go fishing because usually the only thing biting are the Mozzies!!

  • A warm Qld Summer Night, Romance is at its peak while walking at night on the sandy Beach. Empty but for us, dark except for the moonlight on the rippling water….A passionate embrace lead to more (use your imagination) but the white glow of skin lead a swarm of mozzies. We run for our lives, eaten alive and spent our passionate night , apart , soaked in Calamine Lotion, scratching frantically. If only we had A “Mozzie Gear Pack” things could have been so different :P

  • We do a lot of camping and outdoor activities on the weekends as a family. This would be a great alternative to awful sprays that do nothing!

  • Myself and my Grandkids were attacked by Mosquitos whilst being at a BBq it was very itchy and we came up with big sores all over, took over a week to go down, very painful for the Grandkids so i would love to try this product for myself and the Kids, Thanks for the chance :0

  • With a English family , who gets big welts with every bite, that they scratch until they develop sores. This would be fantastic.

  • One of my kids is allergic to mozzie bites, and I am a mozzie magnet myself, so these would be invaluable!

    • We love having BBQs outside so this would help us do that more often without the worry of my daughter being bitten!

  • Having a drink and barbeque outdoors at dusk, my favourite time of the day… except for you know what – those little pests…and no I’m not talking about the kids …

  • Just living in Australia is a requirement for needing Mozzi Gear Protection
day or night, in or out, on land or water the pesky mozzies will get you.

  • With mosquitos like helicopters we need to call in the big guns. Doesn’t matter the season they are out in full flight zooming in on the heat we put out. It’s time to stock up on MOZZIGEAR . Can’t wait for a buzz and bite free backyard BBQ. BZZzzzzzzz no more.

  • Living in the country; having your own dam we just seem to breed mozzies. We are sitting outside for our coffee break at lunch time every day. We are also walking our dogs twice a day.

  • Just going outside! The mozzies are terrible here and just going for a walk without mozzies all over us would be nice!

  • when we go out at night to our spa we need something to stop us being eaten by the mozzies

  • Living in Darwin, we do everything outside all year round, and go through these constantly, they work great and the kids love them better than spraying, so you don’t have the taste of rid over everything you touch!

  • I work from home a lot and often with the balcony door open in summer the mosquitoes target me, I have a rare blood type and I’m convinced this is the reason! I sit with a fly squat next to me but I always miss and they quickly scurry through the air in a frantic, jittery dance to safety.

However last week one did not fly off. He boldly charged straight at me in a Kamikaze dive-bomb. I swatted and slapped at it but this just made it more determined. It came in hard and fast, zooming up the middle, dodging left and right, diving to my legs, then up to my chest, then my head. I dropped the squat and started to wave my hands around me like a lunatic swatting and slapping at thin air. It just wouldn’t give up!

Then it just disappeared but not until it had got a piece of that rare, vintage blood I was telling you about! I’d gone from a lunatic squatting air to a bigger lunatic scratching and rubbing at the enormous bite on my foot.

However I did learn something from that mosquito I have not learnt from any other. It taught me something important about persistence, goals and success. In a weird way all living things have this need and desire to succeed. Speaking of which I better get back to work. Hopefully I have succeeded in explaining why I need this prize because I really don’t want to learn any more life lessons from mosquitoes!

  • we love going camping together as a family so having insect repellant of some sort is definitely a must!

  • Since we are lucky enough to live in a country that offers such diversity in outdoor locations we try to embrace as many outdoor activities as possible to take them all in with out top being bush hiking, fishing and camping this prize would be invaluable to us with any one of those activities :)

  • Besides the usual garden fun like mowing, hanging out washing and weeding, my kids love their outdoor activities like trampolining, riding, playing on the swings and gardening. We have built a sustainable backyard environment but that invites those “naughty mozzies” as the kids call them, so this prize would be great!

  • Awesome prize, would love to test these out at Cape Conran, as we go every year with 7 kids and 7 adults for a fun filled, beach packed week and the mozzies are always out to get us!

  • We love camping. With a little baby we would use Mozzi Gear inside the tent and out. We would also use it at home. Sadly my little one is more tasty than my hubby. But i am sure daddy would really love to be mozzi free as well as bubs

  • Living in the NT is very sweaty business, the best time to take the kids out and about is early morning or late afternoon and mossies are always at large! My entire family would benifit from this giveaway. The bands would also be a great fashion accessory for work, school and daycare!!

  • My family and I spend a lot of time out and about walking our German Shepherd dog and in the hotter months we dont take her until after dark and are constantly having to treat mosquito bites

  • Hey, sure, I walk the dog by the creek, take the kids for bushwalks and visit friends on farms. But the highest mozzie zone ever is inside my house. Really. Every night, even in summer when it’s stinking hot, I shut up the windows before dusk. My house is obviously a sieve – glass doesn’t stop mozzies, let alone screens. Every night, the squadron of mozzies attacks and we’re all sent into battle, shooing, squirting, cursing. OK, the cursing is mine, as is the burden of being the tastiest (apparently!)

  • My garden is my haven but the mozzies nearly carry me away and I itch and scratch for days. Save me Mozzi!

  • love to get away from the chemical sprays,
Their not really good for you and me,
I’d love to your ozzie gear,
    And make those mozzies disappear
