There are many FREE Newcastle and Hunter Valley New Year’s Eve Celebrations that are family friendly taking place, that you and the kids won’t want to miss!

New Year’s celebrations are not just about partying and staying up late; for many it is an opportunity to catch up with friends, relax a bit and let the kids enjoy themselves. And of course, fireworks!

As you would expect, Newcastle always puts on a great show.
With entertainment for everyone from the Newcastle Foreshore to Griffiths Park, Stockton. Bring your neon costumes, glow sticks and have a good time!
Newcastle Foreshore – Neon-themed festivities in the evening. Colourful lantern parades from 7.45pm – 8.45pm.
Newcastle Market Street Lawn – Illuminated labyrinth and ‘resolution tree’.
Fireworks – 9pm
Entertainment starting at time: 6pm – 9pm with food and drinks available from food vans.
Get ready to rock out in the Queens Wharf car park at the FREE all-ages concert. 80’s icons Mental As Anything headlining with these great bands:
5.45pm Throw Me To The Wolves
6.20pm The Venom Lips
7.00pm Floyd Vincent and theTemple Dogs
8.00pm Mental As Anything.
Fireworks – launched from Griffiths Park, Stockton at 9pm.
Expecting to be even better than last year, Maitland has a family friendly event organised that will keep you and your kids entertained right through to the evening when the fireworks display commences.
If you want good food and free activities, than Maitland is your ‘go to’ for Hunter Valley New Year’s Eve Celebrations.
Taking place along the bank of Maitland River, you will find the following activities:
• Live music
• FREE amusement rides
• Kids craft
• Face painting
• And so much more
Get down there early as the event kicks off at 5.00pm.
Don’t forget to stay for the huge fireworks display at 9pm!
Hunter Valley Gardens
If you haven’t been to see the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular yet, tonight is the perfect night to do so because at 9pm they have the most amazing display fireworks!
Make a night of it and a memory your kids won’t forget.
For families local to Paterson, make sure you check out the Hunter Valley New Year’s Eve celebrations being held at Tucker Park, Paterson.
With gates opening at 4.00pm and children’s programs starting at 6pm, families will enjoy live music, singing, dancing, amusement rides, face painting and much more.
Worried you might get hungry? Don’t be, there are food and drinks available to purchase.
To ensure everyone is catered to, Paterson have two fireworks displays – the main fireworks at 9.00pm and another to welcome 2017 at midnight!
Entry fee: $15 family, $5 adult
