This year I am a Nude Food Day Ambassador and I feel humbled to be a part of it. Unlike previous years where it has been promoted on a specific day; this year Nude Food Day is being celebrated across any day of October, all of them if you are that committed!

I am actively taking part in Nude Food Day this October to reduce the amount of wastage and rubbish we use when packing lunches, storing leftovers and even the products we buy. By making small changes in our choices, we are seeing a positive impact on not only our environmental influence but also our selections in food. Our improvement in fresh and healthy food options has been outstanding and one that we will continue as often as possible.

    Vegetable or Fruit kebabs are totally fun,
    pump a variety of vitamins & minerals in my son.
    Fun to make in the morning or afternoon,
    cut them in shapes if you want kids to be over the moon.

    My favourite snack is fresh apple, almonds, Dates and shredded coconut because it is so versatile, I can eat it on its own, mix into yoghurt, add some oats, smash it into a raw base for a slice, you get the gist. Healthy, portable, filling and delicious.

    A delicious range of homemade dips
    Served with sesame seed biscuit strips
    Or fruit kebabs, they look divine
    The kids’ favourite fruits all in a line
    And simple cherry tomatoes and squares of cheese
    Are a welcome favourite and certainly please!
    Simple sticks of veggies when I’m in doubt
    They’re some healthy snacks I can ‘t be without!

    My favourite healthy snack is water melon pizza! kids love it! cut a triangle slize of watermelon to look like a pizza slice, top with added fruit topping like kiwifruit mandarins etc then a drizzle of honey for the sauce…. YUMM

    Seaweed sheets. I am seriously addicted to this little rectangular snack from my local Asian grocer, I could eat them non-stop all day long, they are seriously that good. Suppose that sort of defeats the purpose of them being healthy if I overindulge in them 😉

    Nuts. Almonds and cashews mainly, because I have two small children who seem to eat everything else in the house, and these are small enough to stash in a container and then into my bag so that I at least have something to get me through without resorting to crap!!!

    An apple, its sweet, tasty, easy, healthy and full of fibre, gets to thinking creatively. Cut, smother on some peanut butter and a few choccie bits = Apple Cookie

    Fruit salad and yoghurt. I prepare a batch of fruit salad in the morning so when I’m feeling peckish I reach for that instead of biscuits.

    Give me anything fresh or home-made, not processed, any day.
    Natural with No Numbers!

    My kids are always bang up for a bit of sushi – fortunately they now think anything ‘rolled’ is sushi – so flatbread is our friend. Their latest fave (and mine because it is so easy to transport in the Nude food movers) is ‘Banana Sushi’ which is flatbread, smeared with Nutella with a banana in the middle – rolled and sliced like a nori-roll!

    Creamy Greek yoghurt with raspberries! The combination of sweet and tart is perfect…and the kids make it into a pink, slushy mess before eating it 🙂

    Muesli with yoghurt anytime of day! Nudie containers are the best for keeping this combo cool in hot summer months!

    Frozen oranges in summer. I am prone to colds and flu during winter so I boost my body with Vitamin C and cool my insides at the same time!

    a full blown fruit salad with some yogurt would go good in this system of storage I can keep my apple with my orange and take a banana too!

    Low fat Greek style yoghurt topped with blueberries, banana and homegrown strawberries. Filling and energy giving!
