LeapFrog has topped the most wanted list of toys again this year. This year taking tech toys for kids to a new level.
Parents want more from their toy purchases. They want tech toys that teach while children are having fun. LeapFrog have recognised how children like to play. They have combined fun with clever, age-appropriate toys for kids at every age and stage, from babies to primary schoolers. Check out these LeapFrog tech toys reviews below.
LeapFrog tech toys
Our family has been using LeapFrog toys for as long as I can remember. This will not change any time soon as LeapFrog toys are designed to stand the test of time, keeping children intrigued and entertained for years, not just days. So far, they haven’t disappointed.
· LeapFrog RockIt Twist
The new LeapFrog RockIt Twist handheld gaming system offers children a diverse gaming experience that not only develops fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, it engages the brain and builds knowledge in a range of areas.
This unique gaming system for kids comes standard with twelve preloaded games, digital pets and music to help children learn while they play. The games cover a range of topics to help children learn a variety of skills including literacy, maths, problem solving, science and creativity.
Parents don’t need to be worried about Wi-Fi usage, the RockIt Twist can be played anywhere. Children can listen to their own music with the built-in MP3 player. As an added bonus, there are volume controls (thank goodness!) and a headphone jack.
While you can purchase additional games separately, Haddie and Audrey love the games that come preloaded on the gaming system. Built tough, there are hours of fun to be had with this fun little system.
For children aged 4-10 years, the RockIt Twist, RRP $89.95, will be available from September at Big W and Target, good toy stores and online retailers.
Turn any time into story time with LeapStory. The girls love watching the animations shine on the roof as the narrator reads the story. They use it several times a day, not just at bedtime. LeapStory helps develop children’s listening comprehension skills by letting them hear stories read to them, whenever they want.
Children can listen to content from four categories: classic stories and poems; myths, legends and fables; sleepytime stories; and songs. Plus, after you install the LeapFrog Connect application to your computer you can download 60 additional stories, poems and songs for FREE.
LeapStory will help spark your child’s imagination with stories any time, not just at reading time. My girls love reading but this has taken their love to a whole new level. I feel like I should mention, the volume on this quite loud, even at the lowest level. But otherwise, it is brilliant.
For pre-schoolers aged 3 years and over, LeapStory is available at Big W, Myer, good toy stores and online retailers. RRP $69.95.
Smart Sizzling BBQ
This is currently Audrey’s favourite toy that isn’t a doll. She pretends to cook different foods on the grill and interactive. So many yummy meals (and very interesting combinations!) She mostly cooks fish hotdogs with tomato sauce… she is a firm believer in tomato sauce going on all food.
The BBQ recognises the food’s name and colour but what I really love about the LeapFrog Smart Sizzling BBQ is that it has an Aussie accent! There is a storage space on the barbeque which is handy for easy clean-up.
Twist the skewer to count along with the BBQ, then turn the temperature dial from 1 to 10. Hear the sizzling and cooking sounds. The BBQ knows if the heat is too high and asks to have the dial turned to a lower number. Safety messages are included! “Careful. The grill’s hot! Don’t get burned.”
For pre-schoolers aged 2-5 years, the Smart Sizzling BBQ is available at good toy stores, online retailers and Big W. RRP $89.95.
As expected, LeapFrog have nailed exactly what kids want to play with and how to find a clever balance between learning and fun. We hope these LeapFrog tech toys reviews have helped to make your toy purchases easier.
