SmarTrike Explorer

Christmas giveaway 2015

Like everything we buy for our kids, we want to get the most value for money that we can. This is where the SmarTrike Explorer is perfect; it is essentially 5 trikes in 1 with the same (and more) features of a stroller. I love that this innovative product grows with your child from approx. 10 months through to 3 years of age. If this doesn’t give you value for money I don’t know what does! We all know some kids need help to stay entertained while you are doing your daily run-a-rounds or while out on your daily walk, this will certainly achieve that goal.

Stage 1: Sleeping Mode – Ideal from 10 months, this is perfect for walks and outings as your little one can nap while on the go thanks to the impressive 110° reclining seat. The benefits don’t end there though, it features built-in suspension and shock absorbing rubber wheels in addition to providing little ones with weak back and shoulder muscles the support the need. For parents who have tried similar trikes, this is offers full control as the front wheel swivels an amazing 360° which also means it is super easy to steer!

Stage 2 & 3 : Stroller Mode – For those active little ones who want to just get in and do what the big kids are doing, they can pedal and steer. Parents still have control of direction as the child’s steering handle is separately controlled to the parents handle which means it can be disengaged. Using this feature, the child can steer without it actually affecting the trikes direction. The pedals can be folded in for safety if your child isn’t quite up to learning that. The pedals can also be isolated from the front wheel as they learn at their pace.

Stage 4: Trike Mode – Ideal for approx. 2 year olds; by simply pressing the Navigation button it transforms from stroller to trike mode. This option gives toddlers more control as they grow in confidence while parents still maintain control if required.

Stage 5: Child Control – Your child can now have full control of the bike with the parent handle being removable.

Available in a wide range of colours, the SmarTrike Explorer is available from Target, Big W and Toy ‘R’ Us.

Christmas giveaway 2015 SmarTrike

Globber MyFREE Up Scooter

christmas giveaway 2015 globber scooter

Young children want to get involved and try new things as well, especially if they have older brothers and sisters like my daughter does. She sees them riding their scooters and wants to do it too. Unfortunately their scooters are far too big for her, she is only 2 after all. But lucky for her Globber have seen that their is a hole in the market catering safe and practical rides for these young ones. The MyFREE Up is designed for kids aged 3+ (up to max 50kg) and full of features that make learning this new skill safe and fun. The deck is lower to the ground which means better stability, steering lock button that makes it easier to steer and the T-BAR handle bar adjusts at 3 different heights to cater to your growing child. The design is not only stylish but the ride is smooth as well! Available in dark blue, green, pink, purple and red.

Prize Includes: 1x Globber MyFREE Up (winners choice of colour) RRP $130.00.

Online printing has never been easier than it is with PhotoBox. They have a huge range of products that can be personalised, gifted and enjoyed – perfect for Christmas gifts! I impressed by their speedy turn around time, items were printed and received within a week and a half. I ordered a few canvas prints that turned out beautifully and a new coffee mug because I believe you can never have enough of those.

christmas giveaway 2015

The canvas prints come in a range of sizes and thicknesses. I just got the standard size (which is thinner than every other canvas I have purchased elsewhere), if you want thicker ones you have to pay extra. This is also the case if you want hanging things included, they do not come attached either. I was surprised by this but cannot complain about the price or quality.

christmas giveaway 2015

The mug on the other hand, I absolutely love!! I personalised it with photos of my family, a background that suited my taste and my absolute favourite part is the silver glitter interior. There were a couple of glitter options or plain bright colours but I cannot go past some glitter. Love it to bits!! There are so many sales and discounts on products at the moment as well so it is perfect for getting  gifts at bargain prices.

christmas giveaway 2015 photobox

Misfit Shine

christmas giveaway 2015 misfit shine

Until recently I hadn’t heard of the Misfit Shine. Now however, it doesn’t come off my wrist which is great that it doubles as a watch! It helps me to stay motivated, which is essentially helping me to lose some of the weight I gained during pregnancy. I have set myself a goal, one that I know is achievable and gradually increase it to suit my improving fitness. I like that this tracks my activity throughout the day but I love that it tracks my sleep patterns as well. I have been able to regulate my sleep habits to improve the rest I do get. If you wanted to get really serious about fitness, you can use it to log your meals, it is 50m waterproof, doesn’t require recharging (just replace the battery when it is needed) and you can input which particular activity you will be doing – cycling, running, walking, swimming, etc.

In addition to this, it is stylish and doesn’t look or feel like an activity tracker. I have actually been complemented several times on it!

Prize Includes: 1x Misfit Shine (colour – Seaglass). RRP $89.95.

christmas giveaway 2015 smiggle

Smiggle is a household name when it comes to stationary and back to school goodies. I am a huge stationary lover so I am always on the scout for fun and unique office equipment. My kids are also the same when it comes to school items like their school bags, pencil cases, pens, etc. This year one of my boys had a Smiggle school bag and I am so impressed with the quality, with only a couple of weeks of school remaining his backpack is still in perfect condition (with the exception of it being a bit dirty). With ample pockets and storage space, I don’t have to worry about their lunch box not fitting, their homework folder being too large or where they will put their lunch money. They will definitely be getting them again for next year. I love that Smiggle release exciting new characters, prints and products to keep kids interested in what is usually quite mundane.

Smiggle is our typical go to shop for not just back to school, but also stocking stuffers, treats and birthday gifts.

Curash Essentials Pack

christmas giveaway 2015 curash

The well-known household brand Curash has been a saviour with my newborn. She got nappy rash when she was only a couple of weeks old and within days of using the nappy rash cream it was completely cleared up. I am not usually a fan of thick zinc like products (similar to Sudocrem) but that is more to do with the tub they come in and how you have to scoop your fingers in the tub; the Curash nappy rash cream comes in a tube which is so much better. I like it more because I believe it is more hygienic and the cream doesn’t get stuck underneath my finger nails. Majority of the other products in the picture above are used daily for her bath and after bath care. She loves massages so the sorbolene cream is perfect for keeping her precious skin protected.

Prize Includes:  1x Curash Anti Rash Baby Powder 100g, 1x Curash Medicated Nappy Rash Cream 100gm, 1x Curash Multi Healing Cream 75g, 1x Curash Soap Free Baby Bath 400ml, 1x Curash Shampoo & Conditioner 400ml, 1x Curash Sorbolene Cream 400ml, 3x Curash Fragrance Free Wipes Bulk Pack. Total Prize: $55.69.

Love To Dream

christmas giveaway 2015 love to dream

Summer is officially here which means that it’s time to pack the heavy blankets into the linen cupboard. Every parent is different but I personally don’t like putting blankets on my baby, I have this fear they will wriggle down and suffocate. This is why I have always been a fan of baby sleeping bags. We are currently using the Love To Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag, 0.2 TOG, which is perfect for Summer because it is equivalent to having a nice light sheet over them. The fabric is super soft on sensitive skin but strong enough to withstand the washing machine and tumble dryer. It is soft, stretchy and comfortable! To find out else I love about the Love To Dream Nuzzlin CLICK HERE or to purchase visit the Love To Dream website.

Prize Includes: 1x Love To Dream Nuzzlin 0.2 TOG Sleep Bag (winner can select size and colour) RRP $44.95.

christmas giveaway 2015 mox shoes

Anyone who knows me in real life knows that I wear thongs/pluggers/flip flops all year round. This is not just a recent thing, I have worn them since as far back as I can remember. A surprise to some lately though, I have been changing it up! I have been hitting the footpaths, shopping centres and local parks in my new emerald green Mox shoes. They are slip-ons that are made from 100% man made rubber and they are unbelievably comfortable, even with my broad foot! When they arrived in the mail, I couldn’t wait to see what they looked like in person. I was so impressed with the vibrancy of the colour and they came in a gorgeous red reusable string bag (that my 2 year old daughter has now claimed). Mox shoes are comfortable, stylish and practical!

Prize Includes: 1x Mox voucher for the shoes of their choice. RRP $39.99.

For children like this; Indie and Sloan is the answer! They have a wide range of fun printed t-shirts to suit each and every personality, I just wish I could get some in my size. My daughter choose the Tea Cup Doll shirt and I dare say it was because it has pink and a mad hatter type print on it. I personally love the neon pink ink (it is water based for those concerned) and the shirt is soft 180 GSM 100% Combed Cotton. To view the rest of the Indie & Sloan products CLICK HERE.

My most memorable Christmas was probably last year. There was nothing especially exciting about it, except it was the first one where all three kids were old enough to know what was happening and really get excited about all the festivities. Although by Christmas Eve, the excitement had completely lost its charm and I sent the kids to bed forgetting to leave Santa a snack.

(My top two prizes would be the globber scooter and the Mox shoe voucher)

When I was little, my grandfather, would always, read out the names & hand the present, out

My 2 favourite prizes would be the Misfit Shine, as I need the motivation & the (Jet Empire, charm bracelet, as I love their unique style.

One Christmas a long time ago all I wanted was a “Mr Frosty”. When I put the ice in the top of it and turned the handle to make frosty fkakes, the handle just snapped off and broke. I was shattered and my brother laughed ;). All of the prizes are Amazing and I’m eyeing off The “Kaleidoscope bracelet” I find it is such a gorgeous design and the “Charli Bird silk scarf” is just exquisite.

Picture this, Christmas on the farm,
the feast set out and all is calm.
Dinner enjoyed by all except Mum,
perhaps something was a little ho hum?
Wind back the clock to the day before,
dear old mum forgot to shut the door.
As she was cooking the Christmas feast,
the smell wafted out and tempted the beast!
Our cattle dog Roary snuck in, stole the turkey,
now here’s where the details get a little murky.
The dog fled the scene turkey in mouth,
Mum said she saw it heading south.
She gave chase after the Christmas dinner,
chasing the dog who thought he was the winner!
The dog went through fences and round sheds,
Mum scrambled after over flower beds.
She cursed him soundly, no Ho Ho here,
the dog ran faster, it’s life in fear.
The turkey still dangled from his mouth,
and yes the blasted dog still headed south.
Mum eventually caught up with that hound,
swore he’d never make it to the pound.
She saved the turkey, gave it a wash,
stuffed it and cooked it kind of posh!
Mum served it up as there wasn’t another,
and that’s the story of Christmas and Mother!

One Christmas that still very rememorable was a couple of years ago. My mum gave me a Christmas present from her and said merry christmas. But when i opened it, it was my sons kindergarden drawing on a plate. (it was a fundraiser for kinder but he wanted to give her one for christmas). As 6 years had passed i looked at her and she said i thought to give it back to you as it wont go in dishwasher!! I said why cant you put on display or wash by hand?? She said no you take it home with you, i was a little disappointed that she didn’t want it because she did want to wash by hand . Oh and my top 2 prizes are the Misfit Shine, as im overweight and have just started my journey to lose weight this would help lots and the Oricom UHF CB Radios as we have besties that live next door, be funny for both our teenage kids to talk to each other while in their own rooms!!

As a 12 year old who had never had a pet, I was begging for a pet for Christmas but parents kept saying no.
Then on Christmas Eve, while the family was at my parents best friends house, and my parents had quite a bit to drink, I was playing with their male Jack Russell.
Mum commented on how lovely of a dog he is, and they mentioned that a female Jack Russell who had just had puppies with him, needed a new home, because they owner didn’t want her anymore as she couldn’t breed again. (Mean I know!)
As Mum has drank a lot, she doesn’t remember this at all, but it seems she said “Oh we’ll take the female dog!!!” because on Christmas Day when they came over for lunch, they brought the beautiful Jack Russell named Gypsy over for us to keep. Mum was shocked and couldn’t remember ever saying she wanted her, but we all fell in love with her straight away, and she lived another 13 years completely spoilt rotten as part of our family!
So long story short, wanted a pet, parents said no, parents got drunk at a Christmas party and accidently said yes to adopting a dog!

2 top prize choices would be the Curash pack and the Smartrike Explorer, thank you!

Nana and great nana taking miss 4 and mr 3 out to look at the Christmas lights at the last minute on Christmas Eve so that ‘someone’ can put together the trampoline . It was raining and the assembling took longer than expected. Nana ran out of Christmas lights to view as people were turning them off in the rain. So she spent half hour parked outside Condom Kingdom looking at the ‘ ‘pretty lights’ through wet car windows, being so glad the kids couldn’t read yet.

That Christmas day that I dropped the turkey on route from the oven to the table :O After the loudest silence ever, everyone burst out laughing, helped me clean up and stretch the ham and vegetables around the plates so noone went hungry! Gotta love my family 🙂

Of course I forget to say my favourite prizes :/
I’d love the misfit shine; I’m slowly getting back to exercise and the scientist in me would love to track my activity etc during taekwondo and ultimate frisbee! Then the gyrofish would be pretty sweet for my reward glass of wine after exercise…

    My most memorable christmas moment…
There are plenty… Spending christmas day around the table eating turkey and watching uncle simon nodd off on the couch aftewards… But my favourite would have to be of my own kids, just last year. They were almost 3 and 5, and we’d put out reindeer food the night before to give the reindeer energy. When they woke up in the morning and checked it they both literally jumped off the ground! Best bit was I caught it on camera so I can relive it over and over!

My 2 fav prizes would be the photobox gift voucher! Or a slightly less selfish choice, the smiggle because my daughter will be starting kindy next year!

Thank you for the chance, what a great comp!

When I was 8 I was sure there was NOT a Santa Clause. But at mums instance I had to go visit him anyways. I asked for a Velvet Doll (all the rage back then and very hard to find) as I wanted her very badly. Well there she was under the tree on Christmas morning. It restored my faith in Santa…at least for a couple more years!

When I was a kid, my favourite Uncle proposing to his then girlfriend (now aunt), while we were opening the Christmas presents. Everyone was so happy, It made Christmas an even bigger celebration for us all, especially we nephews all having secret crushes on her, happy and envious of the uncle we adored, and still do.

When I was 5 or 6 mum had us write letters to “Santa”, which we walked down the street to post. On Christmas Day I was distraught because I hadn’t received a particular on my list, despite telling mum that I had taken money out of her wallet to send to Santa to ensure delivery of the items! Mum was furious!!

(My top two prizes would be the Love to Dream sleeping bag and the Dreambaby Safety packs 🙂 )

Bizarrely, my mind has gone blank. Perhaps I drink too much on Christmas day. The kids opening the presents with great excitement is the best part of the day for me.

When I was ten years old, an adorable German Shepherd puppy showed up on our doorstep during Christmas lunch. Mum & Dad said he was lost and our front step must look like his house, and that’s why he was there. Deep in my heart, I knew that Santa really put him there, because a puppy was what I’d whispered in his ear when Mum took me to sit on his knee earlier that same week. My horror when Dad and my Uncles took the puppy, door knocking the neighbourhood to see who he belonged to. To their shock, and my delight, no one claimed him. Even a week later, with signs placed everywhere, saying ‘missing puppy found’, no one responded. And Max, remained my Max. The glorious best friend that Father Christmas sent to me, who shared a further beautiful and special 16 Christmases with me, along with a lifetime of memories made together. And you know what, to this very day, so many years later, when I should know better. I know he came to me, a wish made so desperately by my little heart back then, who believed that Christmas magic does come true. And it did.

Curash Essentials Pack & Globber MyFREE Up Scooter are my top two prizes I would love to win…..please & thank you.

I remember when I was about 14yo I carefully unwrapped all the presents addressed to my sister and me. If I liked what she was getting better, I swapped the labels. I tortured my sister trying to get her to guess what was in each of her presents, and ended up telling her each one. To this day she hates me going near the presents pre Christmas in case I tell her what the gifts are again.

I would most like to win the Misfit Shine so I can stay fit enough to run faster than my sister next time I tell her what all her gifts are, and the Tesoro jewellery so I can look fabulous while I am doing the bolt.

My most memorable Christmas story: Santa Claus (alias dad off course) dropped a rock on the roof so we knew he went past late in the evening…..we ran outside and there was a big box and we were thrilled with excitement! It was our first family swimming pool that year….Santa always came Xmas Eve as that was the Finnish tradition in our family.

I would love the Smart trike explorer for my daughter to go jogging with baby and the CB radios so we don’t lose contact!

    03/12/2015 / 10:40 pm

My most memorable Christmas story is just us being together as a family where we all travel and be in one spot, have a day where we’d party, celebrate, have fun, eat and open presents and as kids we’d line up to take the presents to Pop and he’d read them out and tell us who to give them to. Memories i’ll never forget and wish my children got to experience before he passed away 🙁

My favourite Christmas memory was when my daughter’s child care centre asked my husband to dress as Santa for their Christmas party (he had just the right amount of natural padding!) She was a little unsure until she sat on his knee and then started shouting ‘Daddy, Daddy’! We tried to shush her to no avail, although the other littlies didn’t seem to notice (or understand lol!)

Our funniest Christmas was the first Christmas I started dated my now husband. His mum made squid in a squid ink sauce for entree which apparently is a delicacy where she comes from. So for the rest of the day we all had stained lips and horrible grey teeth. There were no Christmas photo’s that afternoon!!!

Gyrofish for holidays get by the beach
Charli Bird scarf for looking good by the beach!

  39. 03/12/2015 / 11:24 pm

My most memorable Christmas was easily the first time I celebrated Christmas on the 25th of December with my (now) husband’s side of the family. Having come from a family that culturally celebrated on the 7th, and didn’t do gifts, it felt so fun and wholesome to have the Aussie Christmas experience! Presents, carols, wine, ham, the whole she-bang. Then my (now) MIL gave me a gold necklace for Christmas. That was it. I was sold 😉

I’m in love with the colour on those MOX shoes and the trike would be awesome for my toddler who keeps wanting to take his Lightning Mcqueen ride on, which is so unsafe, because his brother is taking his scooter! They’re all great though.

My family used to have wonderful traditions. I remember one year as a child the day going as usual, all the family opening presents and sharing pancakes for breakfast and then the massive feast for lunch following going to the extended family Christmas party at night. On this Christmas I remember me and my cousins putting on a singing concert with a new microphone they had gotten as a present. It was a great time as all the family cheered us on.

My favourite Christmas memory would have to be from this year (even though it’s not technically Christmas yet…I hope my entry still counts!)
This year, my three young daughters and I are participating in the Food For Families Appeal, and we are aiming to fill ten boxes of food and/or toiletries to give to the homeless and disadvantaged this Christmas. We are up to our seventh box so far! The kids are having the most wonderful time collecting donations from friends and family, however we have had one negative experience with it.
I had emailed my childrens’ school principal explaining our involvement in this cause, and asked if I could leave an empty box in the staff room for staff members in case they wanted to donate anything. I was told that it wouldn’t be permitted as the school is a Catholic school and the charity I am supporting (Wesley Mission) is from the Uniting Church.
Having to explain to my three daughters why we couldn’t leave the box in the staff room was hard, and disappointing to have to do.
I am trying to teach my girls that Christmas isn’t just about receiving, but about giving too, and these hurdles don’t make it easier, however, we are jumping over those hurdles and only have three boxes remaining, and I know in my heart that we will get there!!
Knowing that we are going to be making other people’s Christmas brighter makes it the best Christmas to date!!
Oh, and I’d love to win the Smiggle prize or Artline prize to reward my girls with.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones xxx

My uncle being single always gets lonely around Christmas so every year my mum buys him gag talking/moving gifts to keep him company.
One year she bought him a tamagotchi which he named Sylvia.
When he got drunk on Christmas night he lost the tamagotchi.
He spent half the night yelling out “Sylvia, where’s my Sylvia”
and woke up the whole house!

My favourite Christmas was when I was about 3 years old. I vividly remember finding my Christmas stocking at the end of my bed when I woke up and immediately opening a kitkat and eating it . When I was 5 I was selected by Teleclub (an 80’s children’s TV show in QLD) to be filmed in their Christmas Special episode at their studio in Maryborough. I had to dress up as a Christmas tree! I remember thinking it was so awesome sitting down on Christmas Eve with all my family and extended family and watching myself on TV!
My top 2 prizes would be the Smiggle pack for my youngest who starts school next year or the Globber Scooter so the kids can have their own scooter and not have to share. Thank you!

My best christmas memory was finding my mothers family that she lost contact with when she was a little girl when her father took her from her mother and moved to Australia. My gift to her was finding them and they live in Bordeaux, France we are itching to see her family again but because of funds neither of our families can travel countries so the ultimate christmas present would be to visit them or them come visit us. (Thank you for this opportunity I would love to give this to my mother).

We didn’t have a lot growing up, and I remember when I was about 7 my parents brought me a signant ring with a little pink gem. I still have the darling little thing to this day, and I always remember how my parents always tried to buy us something memorable with the little money they had. We were taught to appreciate family time over presents at a young age, something I hope to pass on to my baby girl.

I think my 10 month old daughter would love (and get a lot of use) out of the SmarTrike Explorer.
And she’s just recently learnt to crawl, so the Dreambaby Safety Pack would definitely come in handy!

  53. 05/12/2015 / 10:56 pm

When my daughter was little , we give my Father in Law a DVD of “Titanic” for Christmas as he had not seen it. On Christmas morning my little one excitedly handed the wrapped gift to him and said “Here is your Christmas present Grandad. It’s The Titanic DVD and at the end Jack dies” Major spoiler Alert for poor Grandad who was really looking forward to seeing it! It wouldn’t have been the same watching it and knowing the ending!

My most memorable Christmas was a few years ago when I presented my partner with her very first bicycle.

Her parents were very poor and she never had the luxury like a lot of other kids in having a bike so I made sure to get her a really cool fancy one for Christmas. She was so happy she had tears in her eyes!

The Roadshow DVD pack and the Misfit shine would be my two most wanted items for Christmas!

    08/12/2015 / 11:24 pm

The Code Castor Board & Helmet….and….. the SmarTrike Explorer

I have 2 stories…the first is the joy I always get at Christmas for it brings my family together at one location, from further afield….the greatest gift for me is always watching my grandchildren as they discover and open their presents….the looks of joy on their faces is always a treasure to behold….sweet memories for the ages.
The other is my Christmas last year, spent with my sister and brother in Wagga NSW….sadly we had already lost our 2 elder sisters and it was this plus our own failing health that led us to hook up and do Chrissie together…in case the opportunity never came again….my younger brother rode his bike down from Cairns. I railed down from Brisbane, and we all gathered for Christmas at my sister’s home….to say it was one of the most enjoyable times of my life would be an understatement…it was superb, for all of us. Family is one of the most precious things we experience in life, and though I may get together with my siblings again in the future, if it were not to be so then I am grateful to have done what we did together last year, and have the memories of the laughs and fun we had, and of the love that entwined us.
Merry Christmas one and all….the whole world over

Christmas day a few years ago, My son was opening presents when our little staffy decided she wanted in on the action and jumped in to tear of wrapping paper, my son was rolling around in fits of laughter. It became a regular event, so much so I’d have to make sure presents weren’t left anywhere she could get a hold of them! This will be our first Christmas with out her, we lost her to a brain tumor a few months ago. We will always remember the Christmas day fun we had with her.
Love the SmarTrike stroller and the Tesoro earrings and pendant

My brother always dresses up as santa and hands the presents out to the children, he always makes a spectacular entrance, this particular year he arrived in the back of the big farm truck inside a mini mike car, as the men were lowering the tailgate the mini got stuck, santa went flying out the door as he had it opened, he ripped his pants up the bottom seam, the wig and beard flew off, the children thought it was terrifying at the start then hilarious as they realised it was their uncle and he had ripped his pants, the car did have a fair bit of damage, but he still laughs about it now, he tamed his entrances down a bit after that one. my two favourite would be the Smart trike and Moxie shoes.

I’ll admit that I wasn’t always the angel I am now (haha!) Mum used to have our wrapped christmas presents under the tree and when she was at work I would unwrap my presents, play with them, then wrap them back up thinking she was none the wiser. She got me the first season of The O.C and I’d watched it all before it was even christmas! I’m loving the Oricom UHF CB radios because we are a family who love to get out in the bush and go four wheel driving and camping. The radios would come in handy for the adults, and I know the kiddies would think it was cool to use them.
The SmarTrike is for sure excellent valve for money, 10 months to 3 years is amazing, I can’t think of any other bike or toy that I could get so much use out of, and the best thing is being 5 in 1, I’m able to lend to friends or family who have different aged children so everyone can get involved and have some fun!

My Mothers cousin had a dairy farm. One year they had to bring some calves to town. There was an agricultural school a few suburbs away. Since they couldn’t be delivered till the new year they got kept in our front yard and we walked them in the park… but the fun bit was on Christmas we woke to calves dressed as reindeer. All the kids in the street came to see and Christmas lunch turned into a table tennis match watched by calf reindeer and an entire street of families with all their relatives and they all brought food.
My fave 2 items to win would be Tesoro for me or Smart Trike for my girl… purple is her fave and the boys wrecked the trike they had… well I helped we used to run through the sprinkler and some bits rusted.. although I be happy with any of the prizes they are all so wonderful.

Our first northern hemisphere Christmas was very memorable, but not in the way we expected! Having been stranded in Chicago on route to Toronto due to a snowstorm, it looked like Christmas lunch was going to be room service in a motel. But a lovely couple from Chicago, who could not take off on the same flight as ours, took us under their wing and gave us the best White Christmas that we could have imagined! It proved that generosity, kindness and the Christmas spirit is truly alive and that Christmas really is the most magical time of year!

My most memorable Christmas was the year I set fire to the Christmas dinner. Growing up in the UK we had the full turkey roast complete with table candles. My Dad was daring me to pass my finger through the flame (yes, I know but it was the seventies). My sister could do it with ease but I was the scaredy cat. Eventually I went for it, completely misjudged and sent the candle bouncing into a glass of wine (not mine, Dad wasn’t totally irresponsible) which in turn sent a fire ball into the napkins, crackers, paper hats and tablecloth. Dad managed to get the fire under control without the need of the fire brigade but not before the meat had had a little extra ‘cooking’. Luckily for me, Dad got shouted at for leading me astray and I still got all my presents.

I would love the Code Castor Board or the Smiggle Pack for my son. Merry Chistmas everyone!

  71. 13/12/2015 / 2:52 am

My most memorable Christmas was when our girls where 4 and 5 they left a letter under the tree asking for proof that Santa existed, They asked for reindeer poop and paw prints. It was Midnight before I finished putting out the presents, and it was at that time I found the letter. I went to my craft box and got out the ink pad and some plain paper, then chased our dog around for half an hour to get him to let me get some ink copies of his feet. Luckily we lived close to a big forest so with a torch in hand and a little bag, I went searching for reindeer poop, finally getting enough rabbit droppings instead. The girls woke up next morning so excited that Santa had kindly given them proof. Dear old Santa had slept soundly throughout my adventures. I would really love the Smiggle set and the Code Castor Board, thank you. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Last year’s Christmas was the BEST! I just had my daughter a few days before Christmas. So I had my gorgeous baby girl and with it came the best excuse why I didn’t get a chance to buy any Christmas gifts…”Sorry guys, I just popped out a baby”….nevertheless I think everyone was just happy for cuddles. The year my dad burnt our xmas presents, sounds horrible doesn’t it, but we can laugh about it now. Mum had our presents hidden in big brown paper bags ( the kind that shopping used to come in), and crumpled up old newspaper on top. These were hidden well from us but not from Dad who assumed they were rubbish, and as Dad was a bit of a firebug , you can guess what happened. Need less to say Mum wasn’t a happy camper and more presents had to be brought, and of course we were oblivious to the whole event as Santa was still visiting our house at that time. Mum and Dad have long passed away now but love telling this story to my kids and family.
Globber MyFree up Scooter, and Photobox Voucher.

I vividly remember Santa Claus giving me a doll for Christmas when I was about seven. But more importantly that doll with the curly hair came with the gift of hope and the magic of Christmas. Now every Christmas, I look forward to helping provide Christmas lunch to those less fortunately so that I might give them the same gift of hope and share the magic of Christmas just like I received all those years ago.

I remember one Christmas morning, when we were kids, there was a huge lightning storm that was happening whilst we opened Santa’s presents. It was cool and scary all at the same time.

My most memorable Christmas was when my husband proposed. My engagement ring was gorgeous but it didn’t stay that way for long. While I was preparing lunch for the family my ring came off (it was a little big) and spun down into the drain.
A bit of plumbing and a lot of cleaning was needed to bring back its sparkle!

The Christmas we spent Camping at the Beach with my Cousins, Christmas Lunch was prepared on the Camp Stove and we had to eat it quickly before all the flies attacked it. We had a surprise visitor, an Echidna decided to burrow under the tent whilst we were enjoying our meal.

The two prizes I’d love are the Misfit Shine or the DVD Pack.

Visiting my sister in Europe on Christmas Day. We spent the night there, because she lives in a very remote place. On Boxing Day we wanted to go away but no way, we couldn’t. It has snowed all night and the private road to her house was completely closed. Being a private road, the City Council could not help. So we spent Boxing Day with a shovel cleaning up the road. Something like 3 kilometres!!! It was fun thinking about it afterwards, but not at the time, I assure you!!! 🙂

If I win, I’d love the photobox voucher or the kaleidoscope bracelet.

My most memorable Christmas was the only one we ever had away from home, we were in Bali and huddled inside our hotel room as a cyclone passed through! We tend to have Christmas at home now.

The noisy chickens next door drove my dad mad. By Christmas Eve he had come up with a plan. I was woken as 3am on Christmas Day, was given a torch and told not to make a sound. We jumped the fence, dad chased the chickens around the yard and I had to suppress fits of laughter. He eventually caught them and they were safely relocated. Later that day, the neighbours came over for drinks.I couldn’t look them in the eye and dad just smiled when they discussed the missing chickens. It was like Mission Impossible…agility, stealth, kidnapping and secrets. A very memorable christmas!!

As a kid when my Nanna & Pop came to visit from the country 10 hrs away – Pop was a magician from the war years and he put on a magic show for all the kids in the street – was so much fun that it made Christmas even more magical, everyone absolutely loved it and I love thinking back on those wonderful times.

I would love to win the Misfit Shine or Tesoro Jewellery prizes.

A few years ago we got the kids a slip and slide. After a few drinks the dads did what dad’s do best and took over. I got a run up and flew down the slide. Unfortunately I couldn’t stop and slip across the grass and into the fence. A trip to emergency later, turns out I broke my arm.

My kids love drawing so I would love the artline prize please.

It’s hard to pick the most memorable Chrissy as we have a big family, with lots of sisters… So there is bound to be always a little drama! A Christmas memory that first comes to mind is when one of my sisters popped a Christmas party popper in another sisters ear sending that ear deaf for the rest of the day! Although not the nicest memory to come to mind, but at least they look back and laugh about it ? looking forward for our first Christmas with our 8 month old this year!!

Our children used to get out the front dressed up as every Christmas character’s, their friends would join in the celebrations, the boy’s loved to dress as angel’s, that was the best time ever as no one cared what they looked like, they actually preferred to break out of their comfort zone & sing, dance, call out to passer by’s, they would go door knocking giving away treat’s to the elderly & youngsters, those were the day’s.

jet empire bracelet and tesoro jewellery are the topt two prizes
My christmas story is from when I was 8 years old. I really wanted a cornsilk kid but knew we didn’t have the money to afford one. My nan and pop came over to visit and let me open a combined christmas and birthday present which was a cornsilk kid. I was so excited and happy. It was the last thing my nan gave me as she passed away a few months later. I still have my doll 31 years later.

The very first Christmas outing for my 10 month old son was at my parents’ house; we were sitting in the lounge and I had fed the baby and gave him over to my husband for burping. Hubby carefully placed his glass of beer on the floor next to his chair away from our son and then set himself up for the burping session. As he was patting his back my son spat up, husband carefully surveyed himself & declared, rather chuffed with himself, that all was good it had missed him. Unfortunately it had not missed the beer! Awesome shot son! Merry Christmas

The Oricom UHF CB Radios and the Smiggle prizes would be great.

We suffered a horrid Christmas in WA one year when our power went out for the entire day and we were stuck trying to enjoy xmas in the blistering heat with no air con, fridge, etc. It is the most memorable Christmas but for all the wrong reasons.

Please make this xmas a good one. I would love the travino or the cool Indie & Sloan kids tees.

My fave memory/memories were when I was younger. I would open my presents, play for a bit then join up with all my mates, hop on our bikes and do the rounds to see what everyone else got, then usually have an epic play day.

Twas the night before Christmas when sneaking through the house
Were 2 sisters (one being me) as quietly as a mouse
The santa sacks were sitting in the loungeroom with care
And we went to investigate if santa had been there
We saw he’d come and we squealed and hugged quietly with glee
Until we heard mum get up and back to bed we quickly did flee
But that special memory of me and my sister that night
Is something that we often talk about as our memories shine bright
(my 2 top picks are the CODE castor board/helmet, ; oricom UHF radios (being on acreage when hubby is down the paddock and i am screaming out to him he never hears so this would be perfect) lol 🙂

In August 2003, my 17 month old son was diagnosed with liver cancer. The next five months were literally like a living hell as he went through many rounds of chemo and finally a huge operation in which we nearly lost him. The day before Christmas we got a phone call… to say that he would not need a further round of chemo; it was honestly the best Christmas present a mum could ever receive. He is now a happy healthy 13 year old. 🙂

My husband scored a job in the Merchant Navy when the kids were 4 and 6. Unfortunately, they sailed for Japan on Christmas Eve! It was very hard explaining to them where Daddy was although it offset a bit by the presents they received and the love of family around them!

I would love to win the UHF radios or the Mox. We are going camping in Jan with family and the radios would be handy for keeping in touch when 4wding. I need another pair of Mox so that people don’t realise I’m always wearing the same pair of shoes!

The extreme heat wave we are having in Adelaide at the moment reminds me of the last Xmas that I had with my Dad, before he passed away. I was 11 years old and we had always celebrated Xmas at home with all the family coming to us for lunch; but I still remember that year Xmas was in the middle of a similar heat wave and we had no air-conditioning in our house (not sure how we survived the heat back then, actually). But luckily my older, married sister (17 years older, and my only sibling; so suffice to say I was ‘surprise’ baby!) was renting an air-conditioned house down our street; and I still vividly remember the family procession marching down the street, all carrying the various plates of Xmas lunch that my Mum had spent the morning cooking, so that we could enjoy our family Xmas celebration in the cool (only because my dad refused to get into a hot car to drive our prized feast such a short distance). It was such a memorable day that we had an air conditioner installed before the end of that summer! 🙂

My big sister (7y) and me (5y) were dropped off at our Aunt’s Christmas Eve. We woke up Christmas day still there! We are both in our 40’s now, and to this very day, we will never let them off the hook! Mum and Dad had taken off on a Christmas flight over the Antartic first class! They arrived back Boxing day and picked us up.

My most memorable Christmas that I can remember from the last few years is 3 years ago, but not for a good reason. I spent Christmas at home in bed with gastro while hubby and the kids had fun with the family. We are all currently unwell again, fingers crossed the germs are gone by Christmas day!
