How do you add some spice or freshen up your kitchen without spending a fortune? Accessories!! Or more commonly known as utensils, ‘white’ goods. My kitchen was looking rather bland and boring with everything being black, white and stainless so I popped down to my local Betta Home Living store and browsed each isle in search of the perfect colourful product. I had no idea what I was looking for but was presented with more than enough options! When stepping foot into one of these kind of stores the staff in my experience usually act one of two ways; rude and completely ignore you or they hover, hassle and are pushy. I was pleasantly surprised walking into my local store to find that they were welcoming, polite and the right amount of customer interaction. They had the balance right.
Where to start?
After the initial ‘Is there anything I can help you with or something in particular you’re looking for?’ James (the staff member who assisted me) let me browse in peace without making me feel smothered. He approached me again a little while later when I was standing in front of the same items for while with a ‘oh my goodness these are gorgeous, I must have them look on my face’. Unfortunately they didn’t have the colour I wanted due to the products themselves being ridiculously popular. I could have waited however and got them to order the colour in or just waited until I got home and purchased from their online store with free delivery but I’m not really one for waiting for things if I can pick up something similar right then and there. So I left with blue. The last blue I might add.
That blue one will be mine!!
I walked out of the store feeling happy and pleased with my purchase which isn’t usually the case when I go shopping at other electrical/home goods stores. I love that even though I didn’t spend a million dollars or even know what I was looking for when I walked in I was treated like I was valued. I was worth a few minutes of their time and in return for their great customer service they will see me returning next time I need something for my home. Great customer service isn’t seen often enough these days so when it is you take notice. Thanks so much James for your kindness and I absolutely love my new retro Delonghi Kettle and Toaster. As I said earlier simple colourful ‘accessories’ are a cheap way to spruce up any kitchen!

I have had my brother-in-law living with us for nearly the past 2 months, he is constantly using our blender and kettle, would love to buy him his own as an incentive to get his own place!
I wish I could say I’d put the money towards something indulgent like an old world looking mixmaster but sadly it would be a new iron purchase. On the weekend the kids playing near the ironing board, against my instructions, knocked my ironing station onto the floor. It was almost like watching it in slow motion, me reaching out 10 metres away, hoping to do the ‘Incredibles’ stretch to save it. I watched as it fell and smashed into pieces all over the floor. The only good to come out it it, at least I get a few days grace from doing the ironing I suppose.
I’d buy a juicer, the weather has been super hot lately and I keep buying smoothies and freshly squeezed juices from those drinks places like boost, chatime, etc. I’d save so much money if I could make my own. Not to mention healthier too. And might even win the mother of the year award. Freshly squeezed juice any time of the day, you don’t say?
So yes, juicer please.

I have had little success but with a Betta Electrical gift card I could purchase a Milkshake machine and a waffle maker. Once I convince George into spending the night im sure my Milkshakes and Waffles will keep the Boy in the yard
A popcorn maker, our died a few weeks ago and have you ever tried making popcorn on the stove, it’s slow and I tend to make it a very messy experience.
I’d buy the Breville Blender Blitz 2 Go. Great for blending smaller drinks for the grandchildren, and perfect for me as I watch my calories. The Blitz 2 Go would allow me to only blend what my body needs, and not have wastage.
I would buy some beautiful coloured white goods for my kitchen bench. I am on a pension and don’t have money to spend on new kettle, toaster etc. however my bland and boring kitchen could do with some oomph!!! Just to make it fun to switch on a kettle!! I have had my stainless kettle for so long and it won’t die.
I have a strange fixation with kettles, mine are always dying after 6 months of purchase and I am always replacing them, would love to buy one that will last for a long time!
I would buy a 4 slice toaster
to stop the waiting in the morning rush.
I would buy the tango mango remote control helicopter! My mister 4 has been begging for one pretty much since he was able to ask for it!
I would shout myself a 6 box pack of coffee pods that I use in my new coffee machine that I got from Betta earlier in the year, as I love my morning coffee and I cant live without it! Yummy!
A brightly coloured milkshake maker would be the thing to buy, liven up our kitchen bench, allow our creative juices to run wild.
It would be used daily, give our tastebuds such a lift, experiment with the kids so many different flavours, it would be a hit.
I would put it towards a food processor – so many great recipes require one and my blender just doesn’t cut it. Bring on 101 rum ball variations just in time for Christmas!
I’d buy a COFFEE GRINDER… because thenI ‘d have to finally buy a real coffee machine to go with it!
NO-ONE should have to drink cacky instant coffee every morning.
I’d love to put it towards the Red Armchair. It’d look so cool in our home, and it would be nice to have a place to chill out at the end of the day that was all mine

A new electric fry-pan, our current one now has a ring of fire that tries to burn everything in its path.
I’d buy a Sunbeam electric can opener, then I wouldn’t have to share our current can opener with the pets and their canned pet food.
It’s a COFFEE GRINDER for me… Because then I’d have to buy the espresso machine to go with it!
(NO-ONE should have to suffer powdered muck first thing in the morning!)
A big toaster with four slots, but big thick ones so I can do what you’re not supposed to do, and that’s put a cheese sandwich that’s buttered on the outside into the toaster. They’re delicious, we do it at a friends place all the time!
A blender so I can make a big batch of milkshake and not have to mess around with the stupid stick mixer any more, and multiple times.
All I lack in my new home now is a milk frother that can bring my coffee making skills to that of Campos coffee (leaf logo), I am serious!… Only if I get to practise without distraction from my toddler…which never happens anyway…so sigh…
I would put it towards a KitchenAid so I can start my glorious baking career.
I’ve had my eye on those pretty eye candy kettles and toasters for ages. I want blue too. Don’t have room for the toaster, but the kettle would have pride of place in my kitchen!
I would buy a microwave, I finally got my husband to clean the microwave the other day, I usually do it, but this time I was sick of cleaning, the microwave cleaning is my most hated job! He did a fantastic job, but was obviously too enthusiastic, as he broke the little plastic thing that the glass plate sits on, that’s the thing that makes it spin. To buy that little plastic thng costs $45!!!!! The glass plate no longer spins, half our food is cold the other half hot. We need a new one, and i’ll make him clean the car instead next time!!!
I would love a new toaster that actually toasts the bread rather than leaving half pale and the other half burnt!
A new microwave..
I love my eggs cooked just right. So an electric egg cooker from Betta would be the perfect gift for me.
I would buy a Kenwood Blender Blitz 2 Go. It would be sooo convenient for making delicious smoothies and blended drinks to take for walks or to work! I can’t wait to see what delicious concoctions could be cooked up with it.
Our daughter is finally moving out so would love to buy her some electrical items
A microwave, because let me tell you, the sun heats food faster than my so called ‘microwave’.
I really do need a new kettle. My current one was white but is now a horrid yellow colour and doesn’t switch off when it’s finished boiling!

It would be a Vacuum Cleaner as mine is currently Broken and when I try to Vacuum the barrel keeps falling off and takes me So long to Vacuum and the that is Painful lol.
I would love a new blender since my hubby broke mine trying to stir the food with a metal spoon…
I would buy a food processor. My old one doesn’t work anymore and I need one to make baby food for newborn (Oops, she can only have solid food after 6 months). Anyway, I need a new food processor for cooking.

An electric knife. We’ve recently re-started our family tradition of Sunday roasts, so I’d love an electric knife to help me carve it up.
A Juicer. Although I have one, my Mum bought it in the 1980s and the sound it makes is reminiscent of an elephant’s mating call.
After having 4 kids and with 40 soon approaching, I am trying to get rid of some of the excess weight that has somehow appeared. I am loving breakfast smoothies but am currently using a hand held stick blender. The Kambrook KBL20 Blender Blitz 2 Go looks perfect to blend up my yummy, nutritious smoothies and I will be able to blend up some healthy fruit drinks (watermelon and mint just happens to be a fav!) to keep in the spare bottles to drink during the day.
A food processor is top of my list,
So I wouldn’t have to chop everything by hand and get a sore wrist.
So many recipes I love require things chopped, sliced, shredded or mixed,
With a food processor I’d finally make them and have our taste buds transfixed!

I have always wanted a Yonanas Ice Cream Maker – there are constantly over ripe bananas in the house and they just ended up getting thrown out!!! With summer approaching, it will also be great to have some ice cream to cool down the system!!!! Great way to save and minimise wastage plus create a snack that everyone enjoys!!!
My kids call me a Mad Mumma when I havnt had my morning coffee. I would put it towards a new coffee machine if I won!
I’d put my winnings towards a Breville 6 litre Urn. Then when I entertain, I don’t have to strain my brain remembering: “Five coffees, three black, two with sugar, one with sweetener, or was that two black and three with sugar?” With an urn set up in pride of place, everyone can make their own… and I can relax.
A breadmaker so I can make bread for the family fresh daily knowing exactly what is going into it!
