Dreambaby Step Stool Review + Giveaway

15/08/2015 By All Mum Said 23 Comments

One of the biggest burdens a child has to deal with is being too short to reach everything. My daughter has been blessed with my height challenged genes and as a result needs a step to achieve many things; this includes, reaching the toilet, seeing on the kitchen bench and reaching door handles.

Dreambaby Step Stool Review

Previously to receiving the Dreambaby 2 Up step stool, we were using a step that offered minimal grip and barely enough height to achieve a difference. The new step is everything you could want in a tall step; it is safer as a result of the wider surface space that is also covered in sure-grip and its sturdy construction.

I love that the step is affordable. For the multi-purpose stool (single height) it is only $8.95 and the 2 Up step stool is a bargain at $13.95. The easy to clean stools are light weight and easy for little ones to relocate whilst maintaining the confidence in a product that is built to last. With the ability to safely hold up to 80 kg these step stools are ideal for not just toddlers, but also siblings and possibly even a short mum or dad like myself!

LEGO Justice League DVD Giveaway

11/08/2015 By All Mum Said 36 Comments

LEGO is keeping boys and girls on their toes with the new release DVD, LEGO Justice League Attack of the Legion of Doom. My kids are huge LEGO fans and this movie was far from disappointing. They watched it on repeat just to ensure they didn’t miss a detail the first, second or third time they watched it.

What is LEGO Justice League Attack of the Legion of Doom about?

Roadshow synopsis: Crime is on the run as the newly formed Justice League keeps Metropolis safe and this makes evil genius Lex Luthor very unhappy. Together with Black Manta, Sinestro and a gang of ruthless recruits, Lex builds his own league and declares them the Legion of Doom. With this super powered team of terror and a plan to attack the top-secret government site, Area 52, can Lex finally be on the verge of victory? Sound the “Trouble Alert” and get ready for the bricks to fly when Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League face off against the world’s greatest Super-Villains! It’s the next all-new original movie from LEGO® and DC Comics.

Special features include: Featurette – “Click, Zap, Boom! Creating the Sound Design” – This fun documentary goes behind the scenes with the talented sound design and foley team to explore how LEGO® sounds are created live on stage and then edited into the final movie.

Released: 26th August 2015 * RRP $29.95 * Available on DVD / Blu-ray / Digital

PRIZE INCLUDES: 1x LEGO Justice League Attack of the Legion of Doom DVD. RRP $29.95.

Little Chicks Poncho ~ Girls Fashion

03/08/2015 By All Mum Said 4 Comments

Before having a daughter, I was in awe at all the gorgeous girl’s clothes that were available. They hung on their shop hangers looking so pretty. I had two boys and there was just never anything super cute that screamed ‘I have to get that for them’. There was nice clothes but not like what girl’s had to choose from.

Now that I have a daughter (and another on the way), I am discovering that, dare I say it, there may be too much to choose from! It is so hard to know what is going to last the distance and actually be value for money. I don’t like to spend a great deal on kids clothing as they are so rough and tumble and grow dreadfully fast but I want the clothes to be hard wearing and affordable.

Charli Bird poncho – Little Chicks

A lot of brands and items of clothing I have bought for my daughter have come with high reviews from other mums. This is why I feel I must share the latest piece Poppet has been given. I have talked about the brand Charli Bird on the blog before, but it has been for adult products (scarves in particular because I’m a scarf addict). Well what you may not know is that they have now got a range of kid’s products exclusively available online. The Charli Bird  ponchos for Little Chicks are absolutely adorable and perfect autumn and winter weather.

The budget friendly mum in me loves the versatility that these ponchos provide. They are designed to grow with your child for years; initially it will be a longer style poncho and as your child grows it will become more of a short shawl whilst remaining stylish and well fitting.

These little girls ponchos are designed in Australia by Charli Bird and made from a blend of 70% wool and 30% polymine which gives a soft cashmere feel. I cannot believe how incredibly soft it is, even after being washed! Oh and speaking of washing, it doesn’t shrink or lose its shape. I love how adaptable this piece of clothing is; it is ideal for wearing over tights or jeans and is suitable for a trip to the park or to dress up for dinner.

Because every little girl is different, they are available in 4 colours: Lollipop – hot pink/orange, Bubblegum – purple/mauve, Blue Heaven – dark blue/ light blue, Liquorice – black/ cream. Poppet has Bubblegum.
S/M suitable for 3-5 year olds and M/L for 6-10 year olds. For specific measurements of the ponchos visit the Charli Bird website.
Just in case you are sitting on the fence with these adorable pieces; they are currently on sale. Prices start at $59.95.

Skills And Play With Junior Labyrinth Review

19/07/2015 By All Mum Said 2 Comments

Games are a great way to develop children’s skills. By allowing them to discover and learn through puzzles, experiences and games, you are giving them the opportunity to grow in a stimulating environment.

Junior Labyrinth Review

Recently my children received a Junior Labyrinth from Child.com.au and they absolutely love it. Not only are they learning how to think logically, they are having fun whilst doing it.

The object of the Labyrinth, for children aged 3 years +, is to move the balls with the magnetic pens to each end without getting stuck in the barriers. There are moveable pieces of wood inside that make for an extra challenge when moving the balls around the labyrinth. In order for them successfully complete the maze they must think about not only the move they are making but also consider what action they will make a few turns in advance.

When my boys were in long day care the centre had a large scale one of these on the wall and the kids absolutely loved it. This smaller version has not lost any of its appeal and if anything because it can be used by 1 or 2 players at a time, they can enjoy a little bit of healthy competition as well. As a result of it being interactive and engaging, children do not realise they are refining their motor skills and challenging their hand-eye co-ordination. To them, they are just having fun.

The Junior Labyrinth is made with the highest quality in mind from sustainable rubber wood. This makes it not only strong and durable but also safe for your children to play with for years to come. It is perfect for indoor use or whilst travelling as there are no little pieces that can be lost and it requires absolutely no clean up.

With a retail price of $65.99 from Child.com.au this 30cm square Junior Labyrinth is the perfect size for children of all ages.

Do you kids enjoy mazes and puzzles? How do you assist in developing your child’s skills?

Disclosure: I received the Junior Labyrinth for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own or that of my children.
