Who are PJ Masks?

Parents of toddlers and pre-schoolers will no doubt be very familiar with the preschool sensation, PJ Masks. If not, here’s a quick rundown to bring you up to speed or you can watch it for yourself on ABC2 at 8.13am and following on ABC iView.

By day, six-year olds Connor, Amaya and Greg go to school like everyone else. As night falls, they put on their pyjamas, activate their animal amulets and magically transform into superheroes – Catboy, Owlette and Gekko – and become the PJ Masks!

PJ Masks costumes review

To my daughter’s delight, we received a Catboy costume and I was surprised at the quality. We have often spent money on costumes for one reason or another and I have often been disappointed in the quality of the fabric or stitching. In this case, I was impressed. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy which is a must when active kids are playing superheroes.

The Catboy costume is a detailed full-body outfit in the character’s signature blue. It also comes with a fabric Catboy mask that is stitched and has an elastic band (you can see it in the image above with ‘Catboy’ running outside. It is also really good quality.

RRP $39.99

These are available in all three PJ Masks characters – Catboy, Owlette and Gekko.

My kids love pj masks and watch it all the time and they each pretend to be the different superheros, mainly gekko and catboy. My son loves gekko because his favourite colour is green and my daughter loves catboy because she loves anything and everything cat related!

My daughter likes pretending to be a generic superhero: “I can fly!”… “I’ll use my superhero jumping legs!”… “I’ll save you Mum!”, though she does branch out into Spiderman and PJ Masks. Our newborn has a blue romper and she calls it the ‘catboy suit’ 🙂

For the past 2 months my almost 3 year old has been saying every night after brushing his teeth, “Super Arrows”. My husband finally worked out that is saying Super Heroes. This comes from PJ Masks. So cute. He even said to my husband the other day “you saved the day!”

My son loves Captain America, however, he had a big fail last month when he charged around the living room with his Captain America toy saving the world and ran straight into the plasma tv and knocked it off the cabinet smashing the screen. Needless to say he went from hero to zero very quickly in our house.

    Well currently LMAO.
So to get this right I ask Mr 4 who his favourite super hero is knowing full well it is Catboy based on all the imaginative games we play combating Romeo. Also because he cracks it when the cat car is not used in a PJ masks episode.
Anyhow he says mummy and daddy because they find my toys when I can’t find them and I am crying.
Very sweet but I wish my super powers were beyond tidying. Hurrah for super clean up woman and her husband super clean up man.

My daughter thinks she’s Owlette! I made some wings out of pillow cases and attached velcro straps so she can attach it to her arms…. My kitchen rubber gloves are her ‘claws’ where she pretends to fly and carrying her favourite things from one end of the house to the other!!! She makes these weird owl noises (that sounds like an undiscovered animal) hahaha!

My son and daughter pretend to be catboy and owlette. My son runs around the yard yelling ‘catboy to the rescue’ says hes super fast. My daughter climbs up the swing set sits on top of the swings and says, look im flying. She points to places in the yard for my son to go, to rescue. Most of the time, its a toy which is upside down. They take it in turn finding toys which need rescuing.

Probably a little old for him but I think my son loves Robyn from Teen Titans as he’s funny, sassy & not like other superheroes!

My Miss 3 loves PJ Masks, I don’t think she realises that they are superheroes, she just loves them! She calls them Pee Day Narks – my hubby thinks this is hilarious, as ‘narc’ was a common name for snitch when he was growing up.

My son turned two at the weekend. His favourite pj masks character is gekko. He is constantly crawling around on the floor with his baby sister showing her how gekko moves. He also likes to show me his super gekko muscles by packing up his toys before nap time. My helpful little gekko would love to win a dress up costume so that he can practice being an my little superhero every day

My kids weren’t into superheroes until PJ Masks came along. Now they run around at “super cat speed” and try to lift things with their “super Gekko muscles”. Their imaginative play has absolutely taken off. It’s such an amazing show for kids and I can see why it has become so popular.
