You may remember back in November when I shared my great day that took a turn for the worst. Well on that day I met two lovely ladies representing Unilever. I discovered that many of my favourite and most used household products were in fact a Unilever brand. Omo, Surf and Comfort are the laundry brands I tend to stick with because they have proven themselves time and time again.
The school that my boys attend have chosen white uniforms which is quite unfortunate for every parent that is required to keep these shirts stain free and bright. It can be an absolute nightmare because for some reason the dirt seems to be attracted to them or the kids (I’m not sure which is dirtier at the end of the day).
Omo Ultimate
I have used Omo for their uniforms for years because it is more effective at removing stains than many others I have tried. At the event I attended in November I was made aware of the new Omo Ultimate and was given some to take home and try out. YES YES Omo Goodness YES!! is all I have to say.
The Omo Ultimate is the best liquid washing detergent I have used. I say this with conviction because instead of having to race to soak and treat stain/spills as soon as they occur or risk them being ruined, the new Omo Ultimate actively lifts stains even 48 hours after they happen. I am not someone who has always got the laundry washed, folded and put away as I have more exciting things to do with time. This is why I love this new product so much, it’s like it understands we don’t want to spend hours doing laundry and does as much of the work as possible. Now if only there was a product that folded the clothes and put them away, I’d be sorted! RATING out of 5 – I give it a 4.5. It does a great job and smells divine but $12.99 for 1L is a little pricey.
Jif Easy Lift Spray
When I think of Jif my mind instantly takes me back to my childhood and I can see the yellow bottle of Jif Cream. Jif has come so far from those days and now has a great range available that minimises the amount of work required to keep your home clean. The new range of Jif Easy Lift Spray softens and detaches dirt making it as easy as wiping it clean. No more scrubbing for hours. I cannot verify the kitchen or mutlti purpose spray however if the Bathroom spray is anything to go by your home will be clean in a Jiffy (< In my bathroom I have black tiles so water marks, soap residue, etc. shows up and obviously because these mark white it looks horrible against the black gloss. I thought there was no harm in giving the new Jif Easy Lift Bathroom spray a go and I’m so glad I did. I sprayed the shower after my husband had been in there so it was wet enough to scrub if needed and left it for a couple of minutes while I got my cloth ready to wipe it down. I didn’t need to scrub it. Everything just wiped clean. I couldn’t believe it. Streak free, dirt free, effort free! RATING out of 5 – I give a 4. It does exactly what it claims to do, it is affordable but it is a little strong on the nose if you have the shower door closed while cleaning. My biggest hate would have to be cleaning / scrubbing the shower. The fumes, getting soaked and the result being like it started
Definitely the bathroom is my torture place to clean. With four teenage boys, and hubby, who are all hairy!!! I clean it every day but the mildew and stains still remain

Definitely the bathroom. One female (me!), husband and 3 sons it is always chaos for some reason and I try to keep on top of it!!! Soap scum, wet towels, dirt up the walls, not to mention the “missed target” near the toilet! Grrrr
The bathroom espically after the kids have been in there what a mess they make has to be cleaned daily due to the long hair and talcum powder everywhere, I see the bathrooms on renovation shows and I think how will they be kept clean
Whites, don’t know why but have a knack for staining anything white within about 10 minutes of putting it on, lol. Think it runs in the family, hehe.
Whole Bathroom: It’s really small, dark and awkward to get around in. So mould grows quickly and I have to do yoga to get into the corners to clean! Anything which helps with the cleaning process is a godsend!
My HOUSE! All rooms, kitchen, bathroom, laundry (all those dust bunnies!!!!).. Every room has it’s own set of issues and at the risk of sounding paranoid, I am sure there are people coming here while I’m out to make it messier! I lack that flair that some have with cleaning. I need a maid.

I find keeping the kitchen sink one of the hardest. People are always leaving dirty dishes and dirty water on it
Soap scum on tiles..I use bodywash (doesnt leave residue) but you ‘cant teach an old dog new tricks’, so hubby keeps using soap!!

I can’t stand cleaning the oven. I’m in a rented apartment and apart from the fact that ovens are hard to clean anyway mine gives me bad and good memories of of a time Hubby and I decided to give the kitchen a real spring clean! We cleaned out all the cupboards and scrubbed the kitchen floor on our hands and knees. Then we tackled the oven. Not a self-cleaning oven, but one of those old-fashioned gas oven which needs to be sprayed, scraped and scrubbed. This took nearly a whole day.
I decided that as a reward for our efforts I’d bake a cake. As I went to put the cake into our pristinely scrubbed and preheated oven, it happened, fate looked upon our activities and smiled a sinister smile. My socked feet slipped ever so slightly, just at the precise moment I was leaning into the oven with the cake tin. The tin upended and cake mixture fell all over the hot interior oven door. Panicked that it would begin baking on the hot surface hubby filled a bucket of hot, soapy water. We set the bucket down on the clean floor and began scooping hot, cake mix out of the oven, and into the bucket of soapy water. Just as we were cleaning the last of the mess out of the oven, my knee hit the bucket and chocolate cake mix infused water spilled all over our clean floor, leaving a pool of mush all over the kitchen. We sat in the mess and laughed until we cried. Even though it was, by all accounts, a complete kitchen disaster, it remains one of my our favorite memories of being together in the kitchen.
Our kitchen bench, every time I turn around there are papers, drinks, food, pens, homework, bills, laptops, iPads and babies being placed on it. It’s one area of the house I really won’t compromise on so I’m forever wiping it down & cleaning it off!
Shower grout is my toughest challenge.
Hardest thing to keep clean would be my kids white sport tops.
Each year, I buy them two new ones, on the first day they are worn they are pristine,
but that’s the only day that they are white and clean.
It seems like they must roll through the mud, rain, splothes and spots, spots randomly appear, sweat marks on the collar, inground dirt can always be seen
Soak them each week, but alas the stains seem to not want to disappear.
My kids get embarassed and say “Did you wash this mum”, I answer “it’s been soaking, nothing more can be done”.
Need OMO Ultimate to fix this fast, give me back my sanity, and give my kids white sports tops that they ask, need OMO Ultimate lifeline to give our white tops some relief, leave them clean and white so I can have some peace.
My kids have bath crayons I find it very had to completely remove without scrubbing for hrs would love to try the Jif on it

the floor! i can put my blinders on and ignore the mess around the place but i just can’t ignore the sticky, gritty floor!

White socks that have been worn without shoes, especially outside. After the first and second wash yes they come clean, but after that it’s like the dirt won’t let go, leaving that overly dark foot print on the bottom of them all.
For me it is the black tiles in the bathroom..I love them to bits BUT they are an absolute pain in the proverbial…they show every single speck of dust or grime….mind you I don’t think I would change them….And they look so lovely when sparkly clean…
Anything my daughter wears! She manages to get anything on everything!
Easily the carpet, once when I was a kid I spilled tomato sauce mixed with some other nasty ingredients and still 20 years ago the underlay still comes up with minute stains from it
The dog – at least the kids and their clothes and the floors and the shower screens don’t roll over into poop or garden mulch or worms or cane toads after you’ve cleaned them – whoop!!!
The shower glass, have even used almond oil for the “glass cancer”, it appears clean and then a couple of hours later it’s back to being foggy.
The stove is the hardest and longest for me to clean, i have a bad back so i can only do it small intervals., Thanks for the chance
The Shower recess drives me crazy, with the only positive being a feel like I’ve had a good workout afterwards. Keeping my son’s and daughter’s white work & school shirts is also a pet hate.
The kitchen bench…..it’s clutter central and as fast as I wipe it down it’s dirty again.
The cat poo as not all of our 4 cats use the cat litter trays, one of them persists in pooing on the laundry floor instead, but we love her anyway.
The toilet, I’m always getting the blame for not keeping it clean but I’m always at it and its sparkling when I go to work
oven, its always greasy…
Hubby’s bright yellow Lions BBQ polo top…he’s the king of the bbq at our local Lions and forgets to put on an apron and every time I have to soak and scrub his shirt until the daisy colour has no grease on it for the next showing.

In the house the skirting boards along the bottom of the walls get real dusty. In the bathroom? grouting in the tiles as they need more effort

The scale around the toilet bowl takes all day to break down and scrub clean – Adelaide water is so damn harsh

Some people might not know this but Jif lifts yellow and black stains of white cars.Just polish after with paint cure.
The bathroom. Its always getting a layer of dust, pile of clothes and dirty towels. Not to mention the soap film over the bathtub and the residue that has to get weekly cleaned from toilet bowl.
I absolutely can’t stand cleaning the bathroom! Scrubbing shower grime and grubby glass seems never ending! This prize pack seems like it would be a great thing to try in the never ending battle!!

I would have to say the kids are the hardest to keep clean. Why because they love to jump, climb, be little adventurers and slop in mud puddles. Who would have it any other way
The sinks need to be squeaky clean. So I can see my reflection. Omo is my hair out of place. Just a jiffy while I fix it.
Mirrors and glass. I don’t know how anyone keeps or gets them clean.
My girls white school socks are impossible to keep clean. I haven’t found something that does the job yet.

I find the toilet the hardest to keep clean!! And living with THREE men, it’s also the GROSEST to clean
My carpet. Living on a farm, I have issues with people not taking their boots off, or, not wiping shoes, especially in wet weather. Dogs and cats only add to the mix, especially when our cat, a good ‘mouser’ I might add, will bring in a mouse, or rat, and disembowel it on the carpet, and when it’s finished, she ‘upchucks’ up the hall. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and swear a murder had occurred,…….blood everywhere, a kidney or two, and intestines strung out like spaghetti. Definitely not good on a wool carpet.
I can’t compete with the skilful wordiness of the above poet commentators but I relate to almost all of the problems listed..shower screen scum, maliciously mouldy grout, tantalising terrible toilet bowl stains and living with red soil everything adopts that “ruddy’ glow!

My post is a little different to all the others but for me the hardest and worst thing to clean in my home is my husbands office because he doesn’t seem to worry about the untidiness in there he just closes the door. He leaves papers all over the desk and on the floor and only cleans up the floor when we have visitors, which is quite often lately, fortunately but he doesn’t touch the damn desk. He won’t let me touch anything on his desk so it cops a lot of abuse from coffee, food etc leaving stains I just hate. After it gets too much for me I call him a grub and he seems to clean it up or he lets me do it. Most of the dust can be wiped off quite easily but all the grubby spots need something with a little more muscle. So I use my little pet cleaner, Jif. He hates the odour but I love the clean desk. Sometimes his coffee drips on the floor and seems to leave a stain, I clean it up as best I can with soap and water but will have to wait for a carpet cleaner to bring it back to new, hopefully.

The thing I hate cleaning the most is the shower, especially after my three children have been in there “washing” the shower screen with soap, leaving soap scum all over the screens, what a nightmare!!!
Cleaning and laundering the countless poo explosions from my 4 month old son!!
Sweat stains out of men’s shirts are something I find impossible to deal with. I have no idea what I’m supposed to do and no end of combinations of pre-treatments, washing powders/liquids and water temperatures seems to do the trick!

Honestly, I find my kids the hardest to keep clean. Those little neck creases on my baby are always full of grime and fluff. I paint my 3 year old daughter’s fingernails so other people can’t see how dirty they are. And I won’t even go into 3 year old boys who are still learning to wipe…. Having a clean tub to put them in and hose them down daily is pretty essential in my house.

They say girls have more shoes than boys… but with 6 boys leaving thongs, footy boots, school shoes, skate shoes, crocs, reef shoes and church shoes in the closest corner/empty patch of floor/doorstep/clear surface, the shoe struggle is real! And that’s not including the daily great shoe migration of shoes left at the front door by the seemingly hundred of kids (aka friends) coming over for an afternoon visit!
But I can’t complain, because every pair of shoes just reminds me that I have 12 little feet following in our footsteps, and a million more who love stepping into our home to visit and be part of our family =D
