Krispy Kreme – Where Dreams Are Made {Mummy Mondays}

Last week we made a trip to Sydney to buy a camper trailer and naturally it needed to be registered before we could tow it home; so off to Liverpool we went in search of the Liverpool RMS. And wouldn’t you know it, there was a sign of greater things to come!

As we glanced over, we saw the green, white and red sign calling our names. Beckoning us to stop in. We couldn’t resist, the temptation was too much and there are no Krispy Kreme stores where we live, so we had to! And honestly I just love doughnuts.

As we walked through the doors we were greeted with the mother of all Krispy Kreme stores. This was where the doughnuts were actually made! The kids walked straight over to the viewing platform and watched the production line unfold. It was really quite awesome to see.

The kids couldn’t get enough and stood there for so long watching the dough rise, fall into the oil, flip over and make its way around the conveyor belt before the doughnut creators worked their magic filling them and topping them.

We purchased a dozen to take home with us but stayed and had a coffee while the kids (and husband) watched in awe at all the hundreds of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They were the freshest doughnuts I have ever had. They were seriously like taking a bite out of cloud!

This was definitely the perfect way to end a road trip!

What is your favourite road trip find?

Mmm! I have not had one of these in years! I haven’t seen a venue in ages. They are fantastic donuts!

Ha! We went to Krispy Kreme ever for the first time yesterday! We did ifly for a kid’s birthday and lunch was at Harry’s and then we strolled over to Krispy Kreme for donuts (instead of cake). Ironically compared to the other donut shops around us, they’re now cheap donuts, so i was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t eat one so all I can comment on is price…and there was a cop in line in front of me and I was debating make a joke to him but then he ordered a milkshake and I was so disappointed!

  3. Mmmm doughnuts! Krispy Kreme doughnuts reminds me of Christmas as it has become a bit of a tradition to eat some for morning tea with my girls when we head into the city to explore everything Christmas each year. Yummiest doughnuts and lovely memories too!

What a SWEET way to end your adventure of getting your new camper trailer! When I was a girl there was a donut shop at Manly Wharf and you watched the donuts getting made before buying 1 or 2. I loved that then. Now there are so many varieties…I am still a fan of the cinnamon and sugar one HOT off the assembly line. Have had only 1 krispy kreme because I thought if I continued to have more I might be addicted!!

How exciting that you are getting a camper trailer. You will love it!

Oh my! Krispy Kremes are my all-time favourite!

We accidentally discovered the best park in the world when we got lost on our way to Wollongong from Maitland once. I have no idea where it was or how to find it again, but we had a blast there!

I LOVE Krispy Kremes! And the Liverpool shop I think is one of the only ones left around!
We don’t go on road trips much, but when we were young we we used to drive to the Gold Coast and stay overnight at Coffs Harbour – visiting the big banana was a lot of fun for us!

Happy New Year! I admit to not being a fan of Krispy Kremes as much as other donut purveyors but I probably wouldn’t say no if I were offered one.

I love random finds like that! And I’m a bit of a sucker for anything behind the scenes, too!

Oh yum! I’d love to visit one of their factories and see them getting made. Now I want a doughnut!

Oooh, I don’t mind a donut, but I can’t handle Krispy Kreme. It’s just all a bit too much! The rest of my family would have been in heaven though. Definitely a fun addition to your road trip!

Love to take my son to see Krispy Kreme production, but I’ve never seen any close to us. Pictures you took are great, and I now feel like having a doughnut and forget all about my diet. Great link-up, and wonderful blog.

Oh the Krispy Kreme- this shit that dreams are made of and diets and killed.

The first time I went into Krispy Kreme I did the same thing…just stood there staring at the donuts cooking. Sadly they closed the one by us, but every time we take a road trip and see a Krispy Kreme we have to stop and each and every time we just stare at the doughnut making process. It’s hypnotic or something! lol

This would be amazing. Wish they had a production line in my local store. As a kid I used to love the fair grounds donut truck as you could watch this little process of how the mini donuts are made.

I had a friend who worked in Vegas at a wedding chapel that was right across the road from their flagship store. She said she’d sit there and wait for them to light up the sign saying that everything was fresh. Apparently they taste completely different!

Krispy Kreme are the best! The worst! and everything in-between!

Thank you for hosting this fun linky! Cheers!
