Adventures Go Further With BabyBjorn Carrier One Outdoors
For the past 12 months, my husband and I have been exploring our local area in ways we never had before. I was never usually one to get excited over hiking a mountain or to be honest, anything remotely strenuous.
This changed after Audrey was born and I was sick of sitting around doing not a lot besides working. Let’s go and explore. Let’s push ourselves and see how far we can go. Now obviously as we had a baby this was not the easiest to do and we are so thankful for the invention of baby carriers but unfortunately they aren’t all made equal.
Babywearing – It’s not all smooth sailing
The baby carrier I was initially using, wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. After an hour or so my back would be aching so something had to give. Whether this was letting go of our newfound hobby of being active or finding a new baby carrier that allowed me to wear bub for a longer period of time without paining me. Getting fit and healthy didn’t seem like the option we should be trading so a new baby carrier it was. Specifically the new BabyBjorn Baby Carrier One Outdoors.
BabyBjorn Baby Carrier One Outdoors – Pros and cons
Let me start by saying what a change this was from my previous baby carrier. Just quietly, I LOVE IT!! Like every product on the market, it has it benefits and its downfalls. Read about them below:
PROS
• Functional – Designed for family adventures, the Carrier One Outdoors does not disappoint. With 4-way front and back carrying options, it doesn’t matter if you want to carry your newborn or your toddler, you will be comfortable doing so.
• Comfort – From the padded shoulder straps to the sturdy waist belt and breathable fabric (advanced 3D mesh with moisture-repellent foam), you will be nothing short of comfortable during your family adventures. But let’s not forget about your little one; they will be safe, snug and happy while exploring the outdoors.
• Designed for the elements – Parents that go hiking, bush walking or other outdoor activities will know how important weather proof fabric on a baby carrier is. It isn’t uncommon for rain, spills or dirt to come in contact with your baby carrier and this is where the wipe-able fabric of the BabyBjorn Outdoors carrier is ideal. Simply wipe it down or machine wash it and you are good to go again. So far we are yet to encounter any stains that can’t be removed.
• Versatile – Designed for ages newborn to 3 years.
• Little things – The shoulder straps have little loops on them which allow you to attach water bottles, sunscreen, etc. if needed. On the waist band there is a removable pocket for keys, bank card, phone or other small item.
• Storage bag – The BabyBjorn Baby Carrier One Outdoors folds up to be small and compact and comes with its very own storage bag. This is perfect for keeping things tidy, protecting the carrier when not in use and taking it with you just in case.
CONS
• Pocket size – The removable pocket is a great idea but I use it for my phone (so I can take photos throughout the adventure) and while the pocket still does up, isn’t quite big enough. A tad longer and it would be great.
• Using – When wearing bub on my back it isn’t the easiest to do up alone. It can definitely be done but wearing front on is easier to set up, for me anyway. I find it very helpful to have my husband with me to help put Audrey in and take her out for ease. Again, can definitely be done solo.

Disclosure: I received the above BabyBjorn Carrier One Outdoors for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
My friend is expecting twin boys in February so this would come in very handy for her and her husband!
I don’t think there is any one place we’d like to take our baby girl. Whether we go out to the park, the local markets, or visiting friends and family, or if we just stay at home, my husband and I would love to carry her close and give her all the benefits that come with babywearing. And you have to love the practicality of hands free carrying 🙂
I’m going to be a Nan again and this would be perfect for my daughter – I used one for my youngest and could even vacuum while she safely slept in the carrier
Long family walks up the hills, in the bush, something we’ve been unable to do since the little bloke came along because it’s an impossible feat with the pram.
ake the BabyBjorn Carrier One Outdoors if you won OR why do you want to win?
Somewhere crowded, like the market, the show, Moomba etc, where bringing the pram is just a big old pain in the bum.
I would take it for a walk up Mt Warning. Which is a mountain near the town I’m from. I have wanted to climb it again for ages and would be an amazing thing to do with my son strapped to me.
I would like to take my BabyBjorn carrier one on a cruise where it can get a bit wobbly under foot, and difficult to manouvere a pram. Also on the tender boats to the islands .
I would love to take the BabyBjorn carrier absolutely everywhere with me! Prams can just be so bulky and hard to manoeuvre which makes these carriers so convenient and practical. Also another plus is you can breastfeed discretely while working, getting things done around the house, shopping or eating in a restaurant. If you have a baby who wants to be held all the time, this is an easy way to meet their needs while doing other things.
I love the turquoise !! This certainly looks a bit more practical and comfortable than my Ergo I rushed in and got…Think I might test drive one of these for the next Bub
I would take it to the Blue Mountains when we go on our mini bush walk with our 7 month old.
I have a number of friends expecting their first baby early next year, if I were to win, it would be a case of first bub to enter the world receives the BabyBjorn!
I would love to win, as my bubba loves being in my arms, but i need my arms more often then he is willing to let me have them, a baby carrier would be a life saver for me. This is the style i would love, its versatile, grows with them making it practical, and it would make life easier.
I’m a first time mother, my baby boy is due in February and I would love to win so I can take bub for walks. I don’t drive and the train station where we live in Sydney is not ‘Pram’ friendly (one of the only train station in Sydney with no lift or wheelchair ramp!). The thought of managing the big stairs of the train station with the pram, on my own everyday to go places in daunting and a BabyBjorn carrier would be a life saver!
I love to hike, to feel each step, to breathe the fresh air and have birds fly above my head. I dream of a hike I have never attempted but with the help of BabyBjorn we could surely be tempted. 1200 kilometers of beauty and adventure, the Heysen Trail where we would love to build memories lasting forever.
I’d be able to take my boys bushwalking in the Perth hills – over Lesmurdie Falls. We’d see all that nature has to offer and the looks on their faces would be priceless
We spend a lot of time camping, so the babybjorn would really come in handy for the bush walks and exploring we love to do.
My favourite place in the world
Looks right over the sea
But because the pram won’t get there
I’ve yet to take bub with me
It’s her land by birth and by lore
But she’s yet to catch a glance
I’d pop her in the Baby Bjorn
And up that way we’d dance!
I’m having my second baby in June and am terrified of how I’m going to fit in the new baby’s schedule with my 5 year old son’s- school runs, soccer practice, shopping, cleaning etc. The baby bjorn would be so helpful as I wouldn’t have to pull out and assemble the stroller for each every trip out of the house, especially the trips that need to be quick ones!
The washing pile resembles a mountain,
Which in turn makes my eyes tear a fountain.
Juggling a newborn and toddler is hard gig,
If I won this prize I’d do the jiggity jig!
I’d get more stuff done this way,
No hands mean that I could gently sway.
As well as get the cleaning done,
This prize would help me out a tonne!
I love my carrier when my kids were little. My friend is about to have a bub and this would be perfect for her as she is loves exploring in nature.
I love the photos shown above. It shows that both the mother and baby are comfortable and enjoying themselves and that’s what we all want. We have planned an adventure to Hanging Rock in the Victoria Macedon Ranges with friends and family for January. It’s all very exciting and I’d love to experience babywearing for the first time on this special trip.
Everywhere! I’ve been looking into getting more active but get sick of finding places that have access to prams, or where it won’t get stuck. I’d love to get out more and do things and this would help so much. I may even be able to go bushwalking again.
LOVE TO WIN SO i CAN GIVE THIS AS A GIFT TO MY NIECE. SHE HAS THE MY LOVABLE LITTLE BOY AND IS SUCH A GOOD MUM.
The freedom of empty hands to shop, wash dishes, hang out the washing……so many helpful and useful application for a busy Mum.
Wow. I wish!!!
I have a toddler part-way through the terrible twos who loves getting out and about (but unfortunately our adventures occasionally end in tantrums). Satisfying my toddlers desire to explore is hard when trying to juggle my new Bub. But winning this wonderful carrier would give me the freedom go anywhere with my girls while having both hands free to have fun or manage tantrums!
I would love to tour the rolling green hills in Tassie safely with our first angel Anna. To explore outdoors as a first time family, and thanks to Baby Bjorn, daddy can do this too with this amazing carrier!!!!
I’d love to win this for my niece that is expecting
Whether we go for a bush walk or on a tram,
Taking baby is so much easier without a bulky pram.
Walks to different waterfalls are our favourite thing to do,
With a baby bjorn carrier, bub can come too!
Our brut is 10kgs at 5 months and I can’t hold the little tank all day. So.e help would be great ?
I think a beautiful walk through the forests in the south of WA would be a gorgeous way to christen the BabyBjorn!
The shops it would make shopping so much easier and enjoyable
Love to bush walk ideal
On holidays will be so much easier at the airport and when we are out for a few hours than lugging a stroller everywhere. What better way to see the world.
Just what is needed when going for long walks… Leaves Mum or Dad’s hands free to look after the other little people… My niece would love me forever if I gave her this prize.
