No! My Money Is Not Diamond Crusted

30/09/2012 By All Mum Said 6 Comments

Whatever happened to good old fashioned customer service? It seems to me that staff complain about rude customers however it is becoming increasing obvious to me that it isn’t one sided. Businesses wonder why customers aren’t loyal and return or spread the good word and yet the answer is right in front them!

Staff can be the most rude and unwelcoming people. Everyone is encouraged to shop local yet are to feel like they are scum of the Earth when they try. It is also a common misconception that it is all the young kids that know no manners; I agree to a point but there are the fair share of older generation that treat people with not a shred of decency. Is there something wrong with my money? Not shiny enough for you or coated in diamond? Money is money and business is profit as far as I’m concerned!

I miss the days when people went out of their way to help each other; shop staff, strangers or otherwise. I know that it is not every staff member and that there are indeed some extremely friendly ones out there but when you are unfortunately met by the impolite, foul-mouthed and hygiene lacking person it really has an effect on your day. And not a positive one!

It is people like that that make you realise why everyone shops online these days. People buy everything from food, clothes, toys, you name it you can buy it online and have it delivered straight to your door; all without being insulted or being looked down upon. It is no wonder we are a generation of convenience.

Ok my rant is done! Obviously I have had a bad experience in the past couple of days and cannot stand rude and obnoxious people.

Have you been made to feel like you aren’t worthy of the ground you walk on by so called customer service?

The gorgeous i&u Breastfeeding Dress {Review}

26/09/2012 By All Mum Said 10 Comments

When you think of maternity wear and breastfeeding clothing the last thing that comes to mind is stylish. My first thought is drab, loose and not at all flattering. That is until I saw the Signature Design dress by innovation&you.

This dress is in one word – AMAZING! The design is simple but is so feminine and versatile; it can be easily dressed up or worn casually. The material is extremely soft and luxurious (95% bamboo 5% spandex) whilst still being supportive to the breasts. The magnetic drop down clasps ensures it is easy for boob accessbreastfeeding. When I heard they were magnetic I had my doubts but this design has surprised me – they are strong and reliable. My favourite feature about this dress is how flattering it is – the pleated skirt on it hides everything you don’t want seen while complimenting your assets.

I can honestly say even if you aren’t breastfeeding or pregnant these dresses are still gorgeous! The magnetic clasps are elegant and look nothing like the tradition clips. You would be forgiven for thinking it was just another gorgeous dress. It also comes in a range of colours – Black (as seen on me), Red and Biro.

Innovation&youprovides women with a gorgeous alternative to the usual mundane and boring breastfeeding attire while ensuring it is affordable. This dress can be purchased for $50. To view the full range of versatile and attractive i&u clothing – click here.

Embarrassed to Perfection!

24/09/2012 By All Mum Said 22 Comments

You know that moment your child says something that embarrasses you so much you just want crawl away somewhere and die hide? Most of us have had it happen more than once. My boys have been shockers for it but I must admit they have given me some pretty good stories over the years.

The most recent one being when they discovered sanitary pads; yep now you know it’s going to be good! It all started with the sound of mischievous laughter coming inside my bathroom. I walked in to discover that they got a kick out of sticking the pads all over the walls, shower screen and each other. They were discussing through giggles what the awesome sticky things were and came to the conclusion they were nappies. I told them they were not nappies but that sometimes mummy gets ‘sick’ and they help her get better. They are only 3 & 5 so I thought this was the most appropriate answer to give them at this point. They wouldn’t understand anything more than that and let’s face it anything more than that would have them scared shitless!

Anyway we went to the shops today; being the first day of school holidays and all I thought we could stock up on some craft and science supplies. We were walking up and down the aisles picking the items we needed and headed to the checkout. This is where B2 (my 3 year old) begins to tell the checkout man who looked like hay fever has got him a good one, that “My mum wears big people nappies when she is sick” (Not at all quietly I must mention!) I could instantly feel my cheeks burning into a bright red shade of embarrassment. I think he was trying to help the man by giving him ideas on how to get better but seriously!! Why can’t you keep your mouth shut child?
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO KEEP DOING THIS TO ME?

What have your kids done or said to embarrass you lately?
