How To Kill Dust Mite Allergies With This Simple Solution!

The thought of sharing your bed with dust mites is enough to make your skin crawl, even before they trigger your allergies.

Allergies are a nuisance, particularly when they are in your home. Your home is supposed to be your safe place, your haven and refuge when you are not feeling your best. Unfortunately for those with dust mite allergies, this is not the case.

Dust mite allergies and common symptoms

Like any allergy, your body exhibits tell-tale symptoms that something isn’t right. These can include:

  • Running nose and sneezing
  • Itchy, watering or red eyes
  • Itchy throat, mouth or nose
  • Swelling

It can also trigger asthma, eczema and cause:

  • Chest tightness
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Wheezing
  • Dry skin

These symptoms are unpleasant for adults but even more so for children. There are several things you can do to get rid of dust mites and they should be done as soon as possible!

  • Burn all the things – just kidding. By freezing, boiling, putting in your dryer for half an hour; these will cause the dust mites to die.
  • Unclutter rooms – Leave no clutter and dust mites will have difficulty finding places to hide.
  • Wash sheets and linen regularly!
  • Sunlight – Leave your dust mite ridden things in direct sunlight for a few hours and the heat will kill them. You will also have to remove the allergen though. This can be done by implementing Bosisto’s 3 step system.

The Bosisto’s dust mite products are a natural alternative to the harsh chemicals many people use to get rid their homes of this nightmare allergy.

Step 1 – Spray. Use this on all bedding, materials and furniture on a regular basis. Once you have sprayed, leave for a few hours and then vacuum up the allergens.

Step 2 – Treat. The Dust Mite Wash is great for bedding. It is designed for top loaders so if you have a front loader use this as a soak instead.

Step 3 – Maintain. Wash your linen, towels, mats, etc. with this everyday washing liquid. It will keep your fabrics fresh, dust mite free and smelling great!

Though I haven’t been diagnosed by anyone in the medical profession yet, I believe I am allergic to wine! 🙁
Yes, wine. How did this happen??!! I don’t know, but it makes me so sad 🙁
Every time I have a glass of wine, I get severe stomach pains. Cramping, horrible pains.
So I’ve had to give up wine. Tragic, isn’t it?

  15. Di

The worst kind of allergy, five, yes FIVE kinds of common house dust which makes cleaning horrible. The minute I touch the feather duster, the sneezing begins, then the itch kicks in, and the red rashy face, limbs and torso. Can endure it when I don rubber gloves, but I always forget, then it’s time for the antihistamines that knock me out AND I’m a clean freak, so it sucks!!!!
This said, recent blood tests advised I’m also allergic to cats (which I have one of), dogs, cows, and cockroaches of all things hahaha!!! Have to see the humour in these things or I’ll go nuts.

My allergies go on forever. I’m Allergic to housework, allergic to paying high prices, allergic to rude nasty people, allergic to bullshit. The problems I have to endure are terrible. I have to smile at these people, listen to their stories, pay their prices and clean my house. Some days are hard, but I push through it.

I get asthma from house cleaning sprays.. it seems to be most of them. My son sniffs and snorts all morning. He’s 8 and it sounds terrible and there seems to be nothing I can do but I have only tried one of these. The Bosisto dust mite spray for his bed seems to work about 75%. I would love to try all of these together.

With an allergy to dust my son spends his days sneezing, sniffing and coughing day and night, especially in his bedroom. Restless sleep as he is woken up at night sneezing. We eliminate as much as we can but dust is all around us and anything that could help to reduce this will help him have more restful nights and easier days.

  34. Sharon Markwell
    12/03/2016 / 9:18 am

I nearly lift the roof on our house with my sneezing. I’ve always presumed it was pollen but dustmites might (pun intended) be the culprits.

  35. Sharon Johnson
    13/03/2016 / 1:35 pm

My lordy! I can pop this in my suitcase and spray the beds before sleeping with them. My sinuses play up with dust. Vacuuming the bed is a normal thing I’d do annually.

For my daughter, who is continuously sneezing and blowing her nose from her dust mite allergy. I’d hoped she would have outgrown it by now, no such luck as yet. Her asthma is affected but she is resilient as she’s always is when it comes to just getting on with things she can’t control, unlike her mother 🙂

Not me, but my daughter, Miss 7 is allergic to the freeway! It’s non stop winging every time we go on the freeway and all I hear is ‘don’t you know I’m allergic to the freeway?’

My son on the other hand is allergic to vegetables. So I’m told..

I am allergic to elephants. I discovered this unusual allergy during my honeymoon when we visited an elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka. As we were booked to leave the country shortly after my symptoms started, we were unable to see a pharmacist and I sat on the plane home with a fiery rash all over my body. Ouch!

I can suffer from allergies from dust mite just like stated in the above article, and my daughters sensitive skin can also certainly suffer from symptoms as well. The carpet in the house is a little older and I know is one of the main causes of dust mite in our home. The Bosisto’s Dust Mite range looks and sounds like great products needed in my home. Fantastic to know about, thank you!

  51. Adele Smith
    21/03/2016 / 1:13 pm

I believe my daughter could possibly be allergic to dust mites. We do try to keep our surroundings dust free, have bought allergen bedding etc but still her ‘hay fever’ like symptoms persist. Have tried different medications but nothing so far has curtailed her sneezing/sniffling. It’s a constant ailment. Would love to try Bosisto’s products.

I’m allergic to soap – it gives me eczema really bad over my legs, arms and face.
And lately something has become a new allergy but I can’t pinpoint what is causing my nostrils to be constantly itchy and irritated so much i can’t stop scratching them.

  68. Kelly
    27/03/2016 / 4:36 pm

Luckily for me it isn’t for an allergy that I have as I am only allergic to certain medications, it would however be a godsend for my husband, oldest son and daughter who all suffer from ranging degrees of hayfever and sinus caused by pollens and everyday dust. Being able to effectively treat the house would definitely help their symptoms.

    Sniffles and sneezes, headaches galore.
Maybe my kids should dust just a little bit more!

  73. 28/03/2016 / 7:06 pm

We’re very lucky as no one in our household has serious allergies. I have a slight cat allergy but it doesn’t put me off owning two cats and enjoying plenty of cuddles with them. Just as long as I have antihistamine eye drops hiding in the bathroom!

  77. Emily Potts
    29/03/2016 / 4:18 pm

I learned the hard way about my allergy. I’d gotten a job at CBH, the Western Australian grain cooperative, and I was thrilled. I was driving 45 minutes to work each day, doing 11 hour shifts, 6 days a week. It wasn’t long before I couldn’t breathe day in day out, it was a constant struggle. After a few weeks of enduring what felt like breathing underwater I went to the doctors and found I had undiagnosed asthma and an aggravated chest infection all as a result of a very high allergy to wheat dust! Since then I’ve been highly reactive to a lot of allergens, particularly dust, so this would be incredibly useful!

  78. Cecilia Warrick
